Everyone in the Underworld Sect knows that the Book of Life and Death has fallen into the hands of the Yinshan Yang Family, but no one knows that it was intercepted halfway by a Female Taoist Priest.
Among the Five Supreme Sects, Yaochi has been destroyed, and the long-hidden South Sea Sect has finally emerged in the Daoist World.

The old man in black robes is merely a manifestation of Yang Kaishan, the ancestor of the Yang Family, condensed from his Dao Qi. It involves completely depleting a person's essence and spirit to create a singular entity, leaving the original body in a state of deathly silence. Even top experts need three months of recovery to regain their strength. Typically, when the original body cannot move, it remains in an extremely safe place while the manifestation acts on its behalf. However, as a manifestation, its power is inferior to that of the original body. Moreover, each use of Daoist Arts reduces the internal Dao Qi significantly; before long, the manifestation will disintegrate.
After Miao Guanyin departed on her Lotus Treasure, she passed over a deep mountain and noticed a firelight below, prompting her to descend for a closer look.
At the source of the firelight, a middle-aged man resembling a scholar was treating an injury on a burly man. Surrounding them were three others—Yang Sanqian and his companions.
Miao Guanyin landed before them, startling everyone. Jiyao looked at her with uncertainty and asked, "Miao Guanyin?"
Miao Guanyin nodded and said, "You possess Yaochi's Cultivation Method. Who is the Yaochi Saintess to you?"
Jiyao replied, "The Saint Sovereign is my master. I am Jiyao, his disciple. The last generation's Yaochi Saintess greets you, Miao Guanyin."
"No need for such formalities," Miao Guanyin said. "I had some teachings with your master. At that time when Yaochi was destroyed, I was engaged in an important matter and could not arrive in time; I feel quite guilty about it."
"Given how things have turned out, there’s no need for you to worry about it," Jiyao responded. "By the way, Senior Miao, why have you suddenly appeared here? Is there going to be great chaos soon?"
Miao Guanyin sighed and said, "I was in quiet cultivation in the South Sea when one day I felt an overwhelming sorrow; it seems my time is drawing near. Now that I have reached the Tribulation Realm, once calamity strikes and Narrow Escape occurs, I must quickly find a new successor."
"Senior Guanyin, please consider me! I am at Seventh-Rank Golden Elixir!" Five exclaimed upon realizing that Miao Guanyin was present, already filled with admiration.
Miao Guanyin glanced at Wudao and said, "If I could shed half of this flesh, I might consider it."
"Forget I said anything," Wudao replied awkwardly.
Jiyao interjected, "Didn’t you extend your lifespan by a whole generation with the Book of Life and Death, Senior?"
Miao Guanyin nodded. "That may be true, but the Dao is unpredictable. Back in the day, the five of us went against the current and altered the contents of the Book of Life and Death. In doing so, we have already changed the rules of the Dao, and we may face its wrath."
Jiyao remarked, "Before Master ascended, she spoke of the illusion of longevity. Indeed, no one in this world can achieve eternal life."
Miao Guanyin nodded again and looked towards Yang Sanqian, who was healing Iron Bull by channeling energy beside the fire. "How does this person possess the Yang Family's Cultivation Method?"
Jiyao explained, "To clarify, he is Yang Sanqian, my husband. He was originally a bastard son of the Yang Family's fourth generation, but he has since distanced himself from them."
"I see. When I was in the Time Illusion, I only noticed what was happening at Wuzhang Rock. I suppose that gifted child from Mount Hua, Yang Hao, is your son," Miao Guanyin said.
Jiyao continued, "Back then, while I was pregnant with Yaochi, we were besieged by various sects. I was trapped in Huan Shui Pavilion and gave birth to him there. However, before he turned a month old, he was secretly cursed with Blood Poison by malicious individuals. My husband sought out Changxi Laozhenren's disciple to seal the Book of Life and Death within him and then sent him to a mountain village. We still haven't met face to face."
Miao Guanyin replied, "Since that person named Guo Daozhen will be fine, it seems your son is blessed and fated to turn misfortune into fortune. I came here for the Book of Life and Death as well."
"The Book of Life and Death has already been taken by the Yang Family," Wudao said.
Miao Guanyin took out the Book of Life and Death, which was enveloped in a layer of Wu Caixia light and sealed with an additional layer by Miao Guanyin herself.

'Senior overpraises me,' Yang Sanqian replied. 'Since you have come out this time not only to seek a successor, what do you plan to do with the Book of Life and Death?'
Miao Guanyin said, 'The Book of Life and Death was never meant to belong to the mortal realm and should not be possessed by anyone. Even now, I cannot discern its secrets. I wonder how you came to seal the Book of Life and Death within your son?'
Yang Sanqian explained, 'At that time, it was a desperate measure that led me to seek Changxi Laozhenren, but he passed away decades ago. His disciple inherited his legacy and sealed a form of Separation and Union Formation within his pupil. This Separation and Union Formation can cause two completely unrelated things to grow together. After connecting the Book of Life and Death with the child's blood and bones, he survived, and afterward, I sent him to a mountain village. He only left that village a year ago.'
Miao Guanyin nodded, looking at the Book of Life and Death in her hand. 'The Book of Life and Death should never belong to the mortal realm; it defies life and death, which is a grave offense. It attracts Yin Spirits. I must find a way to destroy the Book of Life and Death; otherwise, it will inevitably cause great chaos sooner or later.'
Yang Sanqian asked, 'Senior, when you and several other Supremes ventured deep into the Underworld's Yama's Hall to retrieve the Book of Life and Death, did you not uncover any secrets?'
'Yama's Hall?' Miao Guanyin chuckled. 'Where did Yama's Hall come from? It’s merely a case of misinformation. The Book of Life and Death indeed belongs to the Underworld, but it was not taken from Yama's Hall. Years ago, someone discovered an Ancient Cave near Qilian Mountain. The Ancient Cave extends thousands of feet deep and connects to the Underworld, which is filled with Skeletons. We found a massive Reincarnation Altar in an ancient ruin. The Book of Life and Death was taken from there.'"
"What?" Everyone was surprised, and Five asked. "So, the Book of Life and Death is a treasure crafted by a master alchemist from some era?"
Miao Guanyin replied, "It could be, but I always feel something is off. It was only through the combined efforts of us Five Great Supremes that we managed to open the Book of Life and Death and forcibly alter lifespans. This Book may have been created by humans, or it could be a naturally formed ancient evil treasure. Over the years, I have traveled through many ancient lands and ruins, and aside from folk tales, I have never seen any evidence of someone crafting the Book of Life and Death."
