I sat upright in the massive and ancient Yang Family Scripture Repository, delving into the mysteries of the Martial Dao Classic. The Clear Light spread out in all directions, and the words from the ancient Dao Jing scrolls within the Repository transformed into torrents of black energy that surged into my mind. After two hours, all the secret cultivation methods from the Yang Family's Scripture Repository were imprinted in my brain. 0

"It seems that the Yang Family's Scripture Repository has been untouched for a long time, and there are no records regarding the core secrets of the Yang Family. Yang Yan once told me that there was half a book in the Yang Family, a method that could absorb others' Dao Dan for one's own use. But it's strange—do the disciples of the Yang Family no longer need to practice cultivation methods?" I pondered anxiously, observing the dust that filled every corner of the Repository. Beneath this dust, the Dao Jing scrolls had turned to blank paper. 0

I interrogated those present in the Scripture Repository, but they knew nothing. Perhaps Yang Xuanzong had arranged for them to be here merely to organize the Dao Jing and keep an eye on me. 0

I took out a Creation Pill and consumed it. My body felt hot, and the Spirit Energy within me surged like an explosion, straining my Meridians painfully. I suppressed this Spirit Energy and transformed it into Dao Qi, storing it in my Qi Sea. As I did so, my vision darkened. 0

"Elder Yang, please let us go; we truly know nothing," someone pleaded. 0

I waved my hand, and everyone fainted to the ground. These individuals were weak; without two nights of rest, they would not awaken. 0

"It must be around Hai time now; I need to hurry over," I thought to myself as I leaped over the courtyard wall and flew up towards Nanshan at the back of Zhengxin Hall. My power was now ten times what it had been before, and my lightness skill was even more refined. The Time Walk technique had also become more proficient; it didn't take long for me to reach the peak of Nanshan. 0

The South Mountain Peak was vast, with some burned pavilions scattered about. I stood atop the ruins of one pavilion for a long time but saw no one arrive. In the distance, I heard the sound of midnight bells ringing. 0

"How is it already Zi time and they still haven't come?" I wondered, glancing down at the open space below. In the moonlight, I could vaguely see a pool of blood on the ground. 0

I jumped down from the pavilion ruins; the blood beneath my feet was still fresh. I took out my Zhou Compass, adjusting its needle to point back an hour earlier. Yang Wanru's grandfather stood on South Mountain Peak, looking around anxiously. He frequently glanced at the changing stars above when suddenly a large hand reached out from the darkness, grabbing him tightly. With a loud thud, blood splattered everywhere as he was thrown down into the bushes below like a discarded dead dog. 0

Before long, I soared back up from below and realized that just moments before my arrival, Yang Wanru's grandfather had been killed. 0

Following the direction in which his body had been thrown, I found him lying lifelessly on the ground. His heart meridians were shattered inch by inch, his bones crushed by a single blow. The assailant possessed unfathomable power and had chosen precisely that moment to strike; it seemed they had known I would come and anticipated that Yang Wanru's grandfather would reveal something to me, so they eliminated him beforehand. 0

Throughout this ordeal, neither Yang Wanru nor her grandfather had uttered a single word in front of me; they hinted at things through various metaphors and writings. Yet at every turn, the Yang Family employed numerous methods to keep me here, helping me consolidate my Dan so that I had no chance to escape. 0

Looking at the old man's corpse, I clenched my fists tightly and vowed fiercely, "Whoever caused your death will surely pay!" 0

I pressed the Dao Fire against the old man's chest, and its brilliance turned him to ashes in my eyes. 0

When I returned to Zhengxin Hall, there was not a single light inside. I had no idea what role Yang Long played in this conspiracy, nor whether he was a victim or a participant in it. 0

Under the cover of night, I arrived at the lakeside Tile House and saw Yang Wanru sleeping against the door. 0

"Wanru," I called out softly. 0

"Grandpa," Yang Wanru murmured, and upon seeing me, she asked in confusion, "Brother, why are you here? Where is Grandpa?" 0

I replied, "Grandpa can't come for now. I'm taking you away from Yin Mountain." 0

Upon hearing my words, Yang Wanru's voice choked, and tears streamed down her face as if she already knew the old man was dead. 0

"Wait, brother. Let me get something," she said. 0

Yang Wanru ran into the house. Inside, only a single oil lamp flickered. She rummaged under her pillow and pulled out a crudely carved wooden horse. With a look of grievance, she said, "This is what Grandpa gave me." 0

I took Yang Wanru's hand and we ran down the mountain. This time, I didn't plan to go through the front gate but instead intended to escape from a side peak of Yin Mountain. 0

I carried Yang Wanru over several ditches and stopped when we reached the Yang Family territory. Ahead of us, trees were separated by an invisible barrier. I used the Boundary Breaking Technique to probe the barrier; it shook and shimmered as a tremendous force pushed me back. 0

"Brother!" Yang Wanru rushed over to help me. 0

"I'm fine," I signaled that I was okay. Then, simultaneously using both the Boundary Breaking Technique and Rift Path, I punched through the Yang Family's Mountain Guardian Formation. Holding Yang Wanru tightly, I burst through the barrier but stopped after just a few steps. 0

Before me stood Yang Xuanzong and others outside the barrier, all holding torches and surrounding me. Yang Xuanzong spoke up, "Hao. Why are you breaking the Mountain Guardian Barrier in the middle of the night?" 0

I said, "Stop pretending. Ming Ren doesn't speak in riddles. What do you really want?" 0

An elder pointed at me and said, "You audacious Yang Hao, the family has treated you like a legitimate son, giving you the best elixirs to help you refine your essence. Not only do you show no gratitude, but you also stole all the Dao Jing from our Yang Family's library, breaking through the family's Mountain Guardian Barrier with traitors from the rebellious clan, giving our enemies an opportunity. Such treachery and betrayal of the family deserve death!" 0

"Deserve death!" a chorus of voices echoed. 0

"I knew there wouldn't be any good fortune without a catch. It's just that your family members have united to stage this charade, making it hard for me to distinguish between truth and deception, almost tricking me," I said with a bitter smile as I stepped back. 0

I held Yang Wanru tightly, supporting the back of her head, and suddenly vanished from everyone's sight. With a loud bang, the void trembled, and I was sent flying back, landing among the crowd with Yang Wanru in my arms. 0

Laughter erupted from the crowd. Li Chang'an stepped out from the void and looked at me, saying, "I knew you'd try that move. We were prepared long ago. In our Yang Family, using Void Technique here is just showing off." 0

A scream pierced the air as Yang Wanru's frail body flew toward Yang Xuanzong. She was so frightened by the sudden turn of events that her face turned pale, and she didn't even cry out. 0

"What do you want?" I asked Yang Xuanzong. 0

Yang Xuanzong replied, "While the Yang Family has techniques to restrain in the void, your Martial Dao Classic is simply too terrifying. The Old Man had to take precautions; if you found a way to escape, the girl would have to meet her grandfather." 0

After Yang Xuanzong finished speaking, two young men stepped forward, dragging what looked like an extremely heavy chain. Yang Wanru wiped her tears; she was still so confused about what was happening. 0

I couldn't escape as they shackled my hands and feet. 0

The chains weighed several thousand pounds and were artifacts of the Daoist Sect. They not only absorbed my Dao Qi, but also prevented me from resisting. 0

"Take him back to the main hall," Yang Xuanzong said as he set down Yang Wanru, flying toward the Yinshan Imperial Hall. 0

The crowd pushed me toward the Imperial Hall. When we reached the entrance, it was already brightly lit. Yang Long stood above in the hall, dressed in luxurious attire, with the respectful Yang Peng standing beside him. 0

“Long Gong welcomes the family head.” Yang Long greeted Yang Xuanzong with a bow. 0

Yang Xuanzong nodded and ascended the stone steps of the grand hall, taking his seat on the Golden Dragon Throne. 0

“So, you’ve been acting all along?” I asked Yang Long, looking at him curiously. 0

Yang Peng pointed at me and said, “Of course! My brother is a rare talent, unmatched in his generation. Do you really think you’re something special?” 0

“Then why put on this pointless act? If you wanted the Book of Life and Death, why not just take it by force?” I replied. 0

Yang Long shook his head and smiled. “Brother, do you still not understand what we truly desire?” 0

“Besides the Book of Life and Death and the Martial Dao Classic, do you really think you can take my Golden Core? Don’t be ridiculous,” I said. 0

Yang Long responded, “Are you saying that if I wanted your Golden Core, you would self-destruct? With this Binding Immortal Rope on you, even thinking about self-detonation is futile. You’d find it hard to die in front of me.” 0
