At the summit of Azure Cloud Mountain, everyone paused their actions upon the arrival of Guo the Blind.
Although the extent of Guo the Blind's power was unknown, he had struck Yang Yunfei with such force that the latter was left unconscious and had yet to crawl out of the pit. This display not only frightened everyone present but also compelled even leaders like Dongfang Jiu and Nangong from the Supreme Sect to exercise caution.
Yang Yunfei was a formidable figure among the Daoist Nine Major Realms, standing at the sixth level, the Nascent Soul Realm, and he had reached the later stages of Nascent Soul, where his Primordial Spirit had transformed into an infant. He possessed Divine Ability, making it impossible for any sect leader of a lower realm to contend with him in a short time.
Yet, Guo Daozhen had effortlessly sent Yang Yunfei flying with a single slap and then struck him down into the ground from a distance!
Yang Yunfei was renowned in the Daoist World for decades as the top expert among the third generation of the Yinshan Yang Family, second only to the Legitimate Son. While he could not claim invincibility, few peers could match him aside from a handful of elders and leaders from Supreme Sects.
If it weren't for Yunxi having inherited the power of the Azure Cloud Sect's Old Sect Leader, along with exceptional Daoist Arts, Yang Yunfei alone could have swept through all experts of Azure Cloud Sect.
Dongfang Jiu looked at Guo the Blind and asked, "Are you truly not from Nanhai Guanyin Temple?"
Guo the Blind chuckled and replied, "Have you ever seen a Guanyin that looks like me?"
Nangong snorted and said, "I don't care who you are; as long as you don't disrupt my affairs, that's enough."
Guo the Blind responded, "Rest assured, Nangong Master. My son Guo Huaiyi has some ties with Yang Hao, but since I have some rapport with Yang Hao, I've chosen to remain on the sidelines. However, I dare say you won't be able to take Yang Hao away today."
"Thank you, Guo Dao. You are welcome to visit my Sword Pavilion another day for tea and sword appreciation," Dongfang Jiu offered.
Guo the Blind shot a sidelong glance at Dongfang Jiu and said, "Just because you want him doesn't mean you can take him. How self-important."
Dongfang Jiu narrowed his eyes and asked, "What do you mean by that?"
Guo the Blind replied, "You can ponder that yourself; you'll find out soon enough. My purpose in coming to Azure Cloud Mountain is threefold: to reminisce, to deliver a message, and to see if there are any members of the Yang Family here. Since there are Yang Family members present now, I won't need to make a trip to Yin Mountain."
Guo the Blind flew down from above Azure Cloud Hall and landed beside where Yang Yunfei lay in the pit, lifting him out.
"Are you the first master of the third generation of the Yang Family?" Guo the Blind asked.
Yang Yunfei replied, "Who are you, and why are you looking for someone from the Yang Family?"
"Of course, there are some grievances," Guo the Blind said. "But you are not yet qualified to know."
At that moment, Yang Yunfei suddenly pulled out a piece of jade from his hand and crushed it fiercely. As the jade shattered, the air changed dramatically, and everyone's figures were reflected within it. Yang Yunfei laughed heartily, saying, "Everything happening on Azure Cloud Mountain at this moment will be seen by my Yinshan Yang Family. If you dare to kill me, my Yinshan Yang Family will surely annihilate your entire family, wiping out your entire clan. Even if you flee to the ends of the earth, you cannot escape the fate of extermination!"
After finishing his words with a laugh, Guo the Blind also burst into laughter. Seeing Guo the Blind so amused, Yang Yunfei coldly snorted and asked, "What are you laughing about when death is imminent?"
"I laugh because you are quite amusing," Guo the Blind replied. "I was just worried about how to notify someone from the Yang Family to come find me, and you've helped me come up with a solution. It seems that fortune has turned in my favor this decade! These Taoist treasures of yours are truly nostalgic; they remind me of Old Scholar's habits."
"You know Ancestor Zong?" Yang Yunfei inquired.
"Not only do I know him, but thanks to your ancestor's blessings, I Guo Daozhen have achieved what I am today," Guo the Blind said.
Yang Yunfei continued, "Since that's the case, why do you still target my Yang Family? Don't you know that according to the Daoist Sect's first rule, those who betray their masters and destroy their ancestors must be killed without mercy?"
"Indeed," Guo Daozhen replied. "Old Scholar's kindness towards me is as heavy as a mountain. He sealed my mother in her coffin for seventy years to suppress a beast and kept my Dao Body sealed in Futu Stupa for fifty years, allowing my Dao Body to cultivate independently without bottlenecks or worldly disturbances. The day I reclaim my Dao Body, I became an unparalleled master right after entering the Dao. Every time I think of this, I feel truly grateful and want to see if that old fellow is still alive."
"My father is from Nine Yin Absolute Pulse. Cultivating Daoist Arts came naturally for me; I even had hopes of longevity. Even at seventy years old, I would still look like a middle-aged person. However, due to Old Scholar's outdated thinking, if I hadn't reclaimed my Dao Body within a year or two longer, my physical body would have withered away and died. I would have had to die with regret myself if not for learning Reincarnation Technique; by now, I would have already turned into bones. And now, all the villagers protected by Old Scholar are dead; everything he suppressed has been released. All of this is his own doing." Guo Huaiyi flew down from the mountain gate and landed beside Guo the Blind.
Taking advantage of this moment, Yang Yunfei suddenly seized Guo Huaiyi by the throat and said, "Let me go, or I'll kill your son."
"If you think you can do it, go ahead," Guo the Blind gestured for Yang Yunfei to act.
Guo Huaiyi smirked coldly as sharp teeth showed at his lips. Suddenly, a circle of blood-red runes rose beneath his feet. Yang Yunfei felt something was wrong; he sensed his own vital energy surging toward Guo Huaiyi's body while Guo Huaiyi's skin split open with blood marks. Yang Yunfei let out a loud shout and struck his palm against Guo Huaiyi.
Guo Huaiyi seemed unfazed as he grabbed Yang Yunfei's hand. Yang Yunfei's face turned extremely pale as blood flowed through his arm into Guo Huaiyi's body.
Guo Huaiyi let out an excited laugh, his face wild and his eyes blood-red, a stark contrast to his previous demeanor. Yang Yunfei suddenly broke his own arm, blood gushing forth as he leaped into the air to escape.
"Do you think you can get away?" Guo the Blind scoffed, his fingers curling into claws as he reached for Yang Yunfei. Yang Yunfei's body was sent flying back, landing once again in the blood-colored runes before Guo Huaiyi.
Guo Huaiyi pressed his hand onto Yang Yunfei's head, blood energy surging into him. Yang Yunfei rolled his eyes back, his facial muscles twitching. With one hand, he desperately formed a seal, attempting a final resistance while Guo Huaiyi's skin split open, swallowing the blood energy.
"I will definitely take revenge for this!" Yang Yunfei gritted out before his body exploded, a golden figure emerging from the blood-colored runes.
Guo the Blind raised a hand to shield himself and grasped at the Golden Figure. With a sudden squeeze, a piercing sound echoed as the golden Light Shadow burst apart in the air, dyeing everything in gold.
"The fall of a master from the Nascent Soul Realm is truly beautiful; too bad there is no Dao Fruit," Guo the Blind said, retracting his hand and gazing at the golden clouds with a hint of sorrow.
The golden liquid that resulted from the explosion of the Golden Nascent Soul dripped onto some lower-level disciples, instantly burning them.
In the Taoist Realm, the first Entry-Level Realm generates Dao Qi; the second Purple Qi Coming from the East Realm absorbs Spirit Energy to transform it into Dao Qi; the third Foundation Establishment Realm produces Qi Sea; the fourth Divine Transformation Realm transforms the soul into Primordial Spirit; the fifth Core Formation Stage condenses a golden dan above the Qi Sea; and the sixth realm is breaking apart the golden dan to condense Nascent Soul.
Once one reaches the Nascent Soul Realm, even if their physical body is destroyed or they fall ill, their Nascent Soul can abandon its body and seek out a younger vessel to be reborn through dark arts. While this does not equate to true immortality or an extended lifespan, it allows for a new youthful body. However, true masters do not resort to this because their original body is most compatible with them. Moreover, although the Nascent Soul resides within the Three Souls and Seven Spirits, it cannot take its Qi Sea with it; nor can it automatically open up Meridians and Acupoints in a new body.
Guo Huaiyi addressed the vanishing Light Shadow: "Old Scholar, your grandson has exploded."
Guo the Blind laughed heartily. "Yinshan Yang Family, Yang Yunfei is just the beginning. I, Guo Daozhen, will make you understand what regret truly means. Come after me and my son if you dare; when a White Snake appears on Yin Mountain, that will be when your Yang Family meets its end!"
The Light Shadow created by jade vanished into nothingness, transmitting everything that had just occurred to the altar of the Yang Family.
Those present were stunned and filled with fear. Even Divine Serpent Cult Leader Nangong and Sword Sect Master Dongfang Jiu felt goosebumps rise on their skin; there was something disturbingly twisted about this father-son duo.
Guo the Blind turned to glance at me suddenly frowning deeply. He calculated with his fingers and said, "Oh no! How did this place suddenly turn into a mass grave? Guo Huaiyi, come with me."
With that, Guo the Blind flew down along the cliff of Azure Cloud Back Mountain. Guo Huaiyi hesitated for a moment before looking at me and quickly followed him down.
"I consulted the Daoist World and received a reading from the Tao Te Ching, the Linglong Pearl, the Book of Life and Death, and the Dragon Abyss Sword. The calm of the green mountains speaks, and the rivers and lakes are hard to meet. Everyone, take care of yourselves." The voice of Guo the Blind drifted from afar.
Nangong murmured, "With the Tao Te Ching revealed, the Linglong Pearl appearing, the Book of Life and Death opened, and the Dragon Abyss Sword destroyed. How could he know the great trends displayed on the Machine Wall? Can he really calculate it just by moving his fingers? A place of doom?"
As Nangong looked at the unfriendly expression on Dongfang Jiu, smoke suddenly began to rise from him, igniting into flames; his time for Possession was running out.
"Nangong Dao: The Disciples of the Serpent Cult must descend the mountain immediately."
Just as Nangong finished speaking, an explosion rang out, shaking the entire Azure Cloud Mountain. Everyone was filled with dread, unsure of what had happened. Some disciples were instantly blown away, and amidst a burst of flames, the whole Azure Cloud Mountain was obliterated.
Dongfang Jiu leaped into the air, fingers together, as a Flying Sword lifted him up. He was about to rescue eight young men from the Sword Pavilion, but those eight were immediately turned into a mist of blood.
I held onto Yunxi and jumped off the cliff. Some Taoists nearby also leaped down as the entire Azure Cloud Mountain exploded, engulfing everyone in an instant within rocks and flames.
At a distance, at the foot of another mountain, Song Qianqiu watched as dust and smoke rose from what had been the Azure Cloud Mountain, a smile spreading across his face that seemed almost uncontrollable.
Behind Song Qianqiu, disciples from Dragon-Tiger List congratulated him, saying, "Congratulations, Senior Brother, on your successful plan."
"Indeed, it was worth spending all my savings over these two years to buy this explosives for the Azure Cloud Mountain. Whether it’s the mountain or the Serpent Cult, if they offend me, I will ensure they meet a terrible end." With that, Song Qianqiu was overjoyed and couldn't help but burst into laughter.
