Da Shewan looked with satisfaction at the chaos beside Haohao's bed, a smug smile spreading across his face. It seemed he had no intention of cleaning up, as if leaving his DNA in this room for even a second meant he could share another moment with Haohao. This pathological possessiveness filled him with immense satisfaction and joy.
His gaze swept around the room, finally resting on Haohao's peaceful sleeping face. The corners of his mouth lifted slightly, like an artist admiring his masterpiece. He took a deep breath, savoring the unique atmosphere that belonged to him and Haohao.
At that moment, Haohao stirred slightly, his body trembling as if he were about to wake up. Da Shewan's heart tightened, and his expression turned alert. He focused intently on Haohao, holding his breath, afraid of being discovered by him or Pig's Feet still in the room.
Haohao rolled over in bed, his brow furrowing slightly as if sensing something unusual. His eyes fluttered open, revealing a hint of confusion and bewilderment.
Da Shewan stood nearby, filled with tension and anticipation. He knew that if Haohao truly woke up, he would not be able to hide everything. Yet this dangerous edge only heightened his excitement and thrill. His breathing quickened, and he trembled slightly from the tension.
Pig's Feet stood off to the side, an anxious expression on his face. He watched Haohao with a mix of conflict and fear. He understood that if Haohao discovered them, things would spiral out of control. However, he also knew he could not defy Da Shewan's orders and could only stand silently by, waiting for the situation to unfold.
Haohao's gaze gradually cleared as he looked toward the direction of the room, seemingly noticing Da Shewan and Pig's Feet's presence. His brow furrowed tighter, a flicker of suspicion and wariness crossing his eyes.
Da Shewan took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. He knew he had to find a way to cover everything up and prevent Haohao from discovering the truth. He gently waved at Pig's Feet to step back before approaching Haohao, attempting to speak in a calm tone. "Haohao, you're awake? We just came in to check on you and didn't mean to wake you up; I'm really sorry."
Haohao looked at Da Shewan, confusion and caution filling his eyes. He sensed something was off in the atmosphere but couldn't pinpoint what was happening at that moment. Rubbing his eyes, he sat up in bed, trying to make sense of the situation before him.
Da Shewan wore a friendly smile, trying to help Haohao relax. He knew he had to tread carefully and not let Haohao discover the truth. Yet deep within him, that pathological possessiveness made it impossible for him to completely hide his excitement and pleasure.
Haohao groggily opened his eyes, feeling an odd scent permeating the air—thick and sticky, like a mix of sweat and other indescribable odors. He wrinkled his brow as the unsettling smell filled his nostrils, causing discomfort. The scent was heavy and intense, making every breath feel thick and hard to ignore.
His throat felt dry and scratchy; Haohao couldn't help but cough a few times in an attempt to disperse the foul odor. His brow furrowed tightly as his head still felt foggy while his eyes struggled to adjust to the dim light in the room. The smell made him feel exceptionally uneasy, as if an invisible fog enveloped the entire space.
At that moment, he suddenly heard the loud laughter of Da Shewan, filled with excitement and joy, breaking the silence in the room.
“Hahaha! A complete turnaround! Brother Hao, it looks like you were sleeping well!” Da Shewan's laughter was loud and piercing, pulling Haohao back from the strange scent that had enveloped him.
Haohao rubbed his eyes, his vision gradually becoming clearer. He saw Pig's Feet holding a camera. Although his sight was still a bit blurry, he managed to smile and weakly said, “Hey... why the surprise inspection?”
He tried hard to appear relaxed, but the strange odor still left him feeling uneasy. Haohao turned to look at Da Shewan, hoping to find answers on his face. However, Da Shewan wore that peculiar smile, seemingly very pleased with Haohao's reaction.
“Brother Hao, this is our new project: Night Surprise! We want the audience to see the real you!” Da Shewan said with a grin, his tone brimming with excitement and anticipation.
Haohao shook his head helplessly and replied with a smile, “Alright, alright, you really have me confused. But next time, give me a heads-up; otherwise, I might actually get scared.”
Though Haohao tried to act casual, the strange smell continued to unsettle him. He had no idea where it was coming from and could only suppress his curiosity while attempting to focus on what Da Shewan and Pig's Feet were saying. Yet deep down, that lingering unease remained, making him feel slightly uncomfortable.
Haohao forced a smile and slowly asked Da Shewan, “What are we doing next?”
Da Shewan laughed heartily and said, “I’m taking you to eat at my favorite late-night spot in Pingtung Chaozhou called Chaozhou Young Chicken!”
Upon hearing the name, Haohao recalled watching Da Shewan’s videos where he often ate from that place. His smile became genuine as a glimmer of anticipation flashed in his eyes. He cheerfully said, “I remember you mentioned this place often in your previous videos; I’m really looking forward to trying it out!”
Seeing Haohao’s reaction made Da Shewan feel secretly pleased. He patted Haohao on the shoulder and said with a laugh, “You’re going to love it! Their chicken is truly one-of-a-kind; I guarantee you’ll want more after tasting it!”
Haohao’s fatigue seemed to lighten considerably with the excitement of what was to come. He sat up and began preparing to change clothes. Although his doubts hadn’t completely vanished, the thought of savoring the delicious late-night snack that Da Shewan had raved about filled him with a rush of excitement.
Pig's Feet stood to the side, watching the scene unfold with a mix of complex emotions. He quietly put away his camera, forcing a smile that barely masked the turmoil of contradictions and jealousy within him.
Da Shewan turned around and waved at Pig's Feet, signaling him to prepare the car. His eyes were still filled with a morbid excitement and satisfaction, as if he reveled in the thrill of having complete control over everything.
Haohao organized his belongings and walked over to Da Shewan, smiling as he said, "Let's go! I can’t wait to taste the legendary Chaozhou Young Chicken!"
