Mocus's left hand grotesquely swelled, transforming into a monstrous deformity. Cracks appeared on the surface of his skin, oozing thick black liquid that dripped onto the ground with a nauseating sound. The black liquid emitted a foul stench, like some evil omen, distorting the air around it. 0

Isabella witnessed this scene and was instantly engulfed by fear. Her face turned pale, and she lost her balance, her scream piercing the silence of the cave and echoing off the surrounding walls. She fell backward, frantically clawing at the ground, trembling all over. Just as panic set in, a deep, cold voice suddenly resonated in her mind, as if it were emanating from the depths of her soul. 0

"Do not be afraid... Isabella, this is the path of fate; you need not fear..." The voice was soft yet eerie, filled with an unspeakable allure that momentarily left her feeling disoriented. 0

"No! Go away!" Isabella shouted in terror, shaking her head wildly in an attempt to escape the dreadful voice. Her heart was filled with unease and fear. She did not understand where the voice came from or why it could so easily invade her thoughts. 0

Seeing this, Jonas rushed forward and grabbed Isabella by the arm, forcefully dragging her away from Mocus. His expression was serious and anxious; he knew that every second could mean life or death. Mocus had completely lost control, his mutation rapidly worsening, evoking memories of the most terrifying nightmares. 0

"Step back! Isabella, stay calm!" Jonas growled, his eyes alert as he quickly pulled her further away, trying to shield her from Mocus's madness. 0

At that moment, two mercenaries nervously held their guns aimed at Mocus, their fingers poised to pull the trigger at any moment. Their breaths were rapid, cold sweat beading on their foreheads as they stared intently at their former comrade, now unrecognizable as a monster. 0

"Damn it, we have to kill him!" one mercenary muttered under his breath, his gun trembling slightly from fear. He didn't know how to deal with this mutation but instinct told him that this thing was no longer Mocus. 0

Raymond stood nearby, his gun also aimed at Mocus, but he appeared to be in a strange state. His vision blurred gradually, and a buzzing sound filled his ears, making it hard for him to concentrate. His steps were unsteady; his skin felt itchy as if something was writhing inside him. 0

"I... feel off..." Raymond murmured softly, trying to focus but increasingly overwhelmed by headaches and nausea. He couldn't comprehend what was causing these sensations. As his gun hand trembled and his body began to lose control, it felt as though some force was eroding him from within. 0

"He can’t hold on much longer!" one mercenary shouted urgently, eyes tense as he kept his gun trained on Mocus. Mocus's body continued to swell grotesquely; it seemed as if he would be completely consumed by the black substance. His face twisted in madness, yet deep within his eyes lingered a faint struggle for humanity. 0

"Is he still Mocus? What should we do?" another mercenary asked with a trembling voice, unable to believe the transformation before them. 0

As a few hesitated about whether to shoot, Mocus's left hand suddenly lunged toward one of the mercenaries' necks with incredible speed. His palm transformed from a normal hand into a twisted, swollen monstrosity, covered in black, bulbous growths resembling octopus suckers. These things clung desperately to the mercenary's skin, as if tearing at his flesh. 0

The mercenary screamed in agony, feeling as though countless small knives were slicing through the skin on his neck. The sucker-like appendages pierced into his flesh, draining his blood and bringing unbearable pain. He clawed desperately at Mocus's mutated arm, trying to escape this bizarre grip, but the more he struggled, the tighter those attachments clung. 0

"Ah! Damn it! Help me!" The mercenary's face turned pale, his eyes filled with terror. A choking sound escaped his throat, raspy as if something was strangling him. His body convulsed uncontrollably, fingertips turning purple as blood rapidly drained from him, plunging him into extreme suffering. 0

"Fire! Shoot now!" Another mercenary, witnessing this horror, flashed a look of panic. Almost instinctively, he raised his gun and trembled as he pulled the trigger. The gunfire shattered the air as bullets were unleashed, striking Mocus. 0

Bang! Bang! Bang! 0

When the bullets embedded themselves in Mocus's flesh, they did not produce the expected spray of blood; instead, a thick black liquid splattered out. This fluid hissed like a corrosive substance as it hit the ground, releasing a nauseating odor. The black material on Mocus flowed even more rapidly, as if stimulated, churning wildly within him and seemingly attempting to spread across every inch of his skin. 0

"What the hell is this thing?" The mercenary stared in horror at the terrifying scene before him; the bullets seemed utterly ineffective against Mocus's mutated body. Mocus still wore that eerie smile on his face, as if he had transcended humanity and become something incomprehensible. 0

"Quick! Kill him! He’s no longer human!" Raymond snapped back to reality and aimed his gun at Mocus's head, his finger nearly pressing down on the trigger. He knew that if this continued, Mocus would devour them one by one. 0

Jonas also raised his weapon, struggling internally. He saw that Mocus was no longer human but some kind of bizarre monster, filled with fear and anger. But he knew that if they didn’t make a decision now, everyone would fall into this nightmare. 0

The three fired simultaneously; the deafening gunfire echoed through the narrow cave as flashes of light erupted from their guns, illuminating the dark walls around them. "Concentrate fire! Don’t stop!" Jonas shouted over the noise of gunfire. His voice was drowned out but everyone in the team understood this was their only choice. Bullets rained down on Mocus like a storm, striking his already grotesque body with dull thuds. 0

Mocus's left hand still gripped tightly around the mercenary's neck; however, as bullets penetrated his mutated flesh, thick black goo began to leak out like some strange blood. His grip gradually weakened, and the mercenary’s labored breaths slowly returned to him until he finally broke free from that horrific tentacle-like arm. 0

"He’s loosened his grip! Keep shooting! Don’t stop!" Raymond yelled, his voice filled with tension and fury. The mercenary immediately intensified their firepower; bullets densely struck Mocus's chest and limbs and even hit his head. Each bullet felt like it was destroying what remained of their former comrade as his body was pushed backward like a broken puppet by the gunfire. 0

Finally, Mocus's body was struck by bullets, stumbling heavily before crashing into the corner of the cave. His back slammed against the stone wall with a dull thud, and then he slid helplessly to the ground. Black liquid oozed from his wounds, dripping onto the floor with a thick and eerie sound, as if it were not blood but some kind of repulsive decay. 0

Although Mocus appeared to be down for the count, his twisted body still twitched slightly, indicating that he was not yet fully dead. Jonas gasped for breath, his hand trembling slightly around the gun, his gaze fixed intently on the fallen Mocus in the corner. He could hardly believe that this former teammate had been reduced to such a state. 0

"He... he's still alive!" Raymond gritted his teeth, a shadow of dread on his face as he remained on high alert, his eyes locked on the fallen figure. It seemed that any moment of inattention could allow Mocus to mutate again and rise like a malevolent spirit. "We can't let him get back up; he's no longer human." 0

The air was thick with a mix of blood and decay, and the atmosphere in the cave felt suffocating, like the depths of hell itself. 0
