I felt as if I had fallen into a cold abyss, every pore naturally opening to absorb the strands of fear. Cold sweat trickled down my spine, and Fat Ma's eyes widened in shock as he stared at the Zongzi, swallowing hard. "Damn it, could this be the Zongzi King?" 0

In the darkness, several light poles seemed to freeze in place, and everyone appeared to have forgotten how to move. 0

Zhang Tong unconsciously tightened his grip on my arm. 0

Suddenly, the five figures of the clay men flung their ropes simultaneously, accurately ensnaring the Zongzi. They quickly shifted positions, trying to tighten the ropes further. They moved swiftly, and soon the Zongzi was completely wrapped in ropes. Strangely enough, the Zongzi showed no signs of resistance during this process. 0

When the ropes were wound tightly enough, the five of them stopped in unison, only about a meter away from the Zongzi, which was firmly pinned to the ground like a nail. 0

I watched their actions with confusion. In the past, when the three of us went down to deal with Zongzi, we had never approached it this way. Usually, we would just go all out with lethal moves like Black Donkey Hoof and others. But it seemed they were trying to capture this Zongzi alive. 0

Fat Ma squinted his eyes, lost in thought. 0

I asked, "Fatty, do you see something I don't?" 0

Fat Ma leisurely pulled a cigarette from his pocket, took out a lighter, lit one up, and then offered me another. 0

"Come on, say something!" 0

Finally, Fat Ma spoke up: "I reckon that Zongzi has something valuable on it." 0

I was momentarily at a loss for words. Fat Ma's interest was piqued as he urged me that if we timed it right later, perhaps we could let that clay man take all the spoils for himself. 0

" Fat Ma, can't you think of something else? Is that clay man really someone who cares about wealth?" 0

My words jolted Fat Ma awake. "Old Sun, you have a point," he said, stroking his chin. "Now that you mention it, I remember something!" 0

Fat Ma's statement piqued my interest, and I waited for him to continue. 0

He said, "You know about the corpse transportation in Xiangxi, right? Those old guys often dig up graves and steal bodies." He glanced at the five men. "Do you think the mud men are involved in this too?" 0

Fat Ma's casual rambling surprisingly made some sense to me, but I still didn't want to believe that the mud men would engage in such activities, especially after knowing them for so many years. 0

"Come on, Fatty, the mud men wouldn't do something like that!" 0

"Honestly, I don't want to think that way either..." 0

But just as Fat Ma finished speaking, a sudden change occurred. The Zongzi sprang into action with a scream of "Ah!" as it grabbed one of the Eerie Figures in its grasp. Blood stained the Zongzi's withered claws a vivid red as the person let out a cry of agony. 0

The mud men were preparing to rescue him when another twist happened. The Zongzi bit down hard on the Eerie Figure's neck, rupturing blood vessels and causing a torrent of blood to spray out. The Zongzi eagerly swallowed it down as if it had been parched for ages. 0

This scene sent a chill down my spine. 0

Zhang Tong quickly shut his eyes, his grip tightening even more. 0

The mud men were facing away from me, so I couldn't see their expressions at that moment. However, with one less person in their formation, it was likely to be significantly weakened. 0

The Zongzi before us was certainly not benign. 0

"Hold the rope tighter!" one of the mud men reminded them. 0

"Mm." 0

The four of them did not retreat just because one person had died. 0

"Clay Man, use Black Donkey Hoof on it directly!" Fat Ma suddenly shouted. 0

However, the Clay Man did not respond. 0

The situation on their side changed rapidly. After a moment, their strength had been nearly exhausted, while the Zongzi seemed to possess endless energy, struggling continuously. The hemp rope creaked ominously, and cracks had begun to appear in several places. 0

I stared at the Zongzi and then called out to Fat Ma, "Fatty, the rope is about to break! We're all going to be in trouble!" 0

Upon hearing this, Fat Ma panicked and started gathering his gear to flee. 0

"No, the Clay Man is still here." 0

"He's just a blockhead." Although Fat Ma said this, he stopped moving. 0

"He needs our help!" 0

Fat Ma nodded. 0

I instructed Zhang Tong to move to a safe spot. Although she was somewhat reluctant for me to go, she understood the situation now. 0

Fat Ma repeated his instructions about the gear and Zhang Tong several times, still mumbling anxiously. 0

"Are you ready yet? Fat Ma," I said, watching the rope about to snap. 0

Fat Ma puffed out his chest and replied. 0

Both of us were injured when we came in, so our movements weren't very agile. After taking a few steps, Fat Ma and I drew our daggers, preparing to strike. 0

The Mud Man tried to block our way as we approached. 0

Fat Ma couldn't care less at this point and shouted, "Damn it! You can't even handle a single Zongzi, and you want me to hold back?" With that, Fat Ma took even bigger strides. 0

"I told you not to come any closer!" 0

"The rope is about to break! If it does, we're all going to be in trouble!" I shouted, my voice booming louder than the Mud Man's. 0

The situation was extremely urgent. 0

Suddenly, another Eerie Figure was caught by the Zongzi. In just a second, he was done for, his head left with a five-fingered dent. The scene was gruesome and truly unbearable to watch! 0

In the end, the Mud Man made a decision: "Stop them!" 0

This time, the Eerie Figures did not heed the Mud Man's words. 0

"Did you hear what I said?" 0

"No way, Master!" The Eerie Figures firmly rejected the Mud Man. 0

"Master!" Fat Ma couldn't help but repeat. 0

The title of "Master" fell abruptly between me and Fat Ma, striking us with a sense of novelty that was profound. 0

"Damn it, you’re actually the Master!" 0

The figure known as Mud Man looked somewhat displeased. "Didn’t I say not to call me that?" 0

"But..." 0

"Damn it, if you don’t speak, no one will think you’re mute!" 0

Fat Ma immediately chimed in, "If these guys don’t talk, I might really think they’re mute!" 0

Mud Man was momentarily speechless. 0

"What are you still standing there for? Come over and help!" Mud Man shouted at us. 0

We were initially taken aback, but soon reacted and grabbed hold of the other two ropes. However, as soon as I grasped the ropes, I realized this was not a long-term solution; we had to address the root of the problem, which meant taking down the Zongzi in front of us. 0

Originally dressed in attire from the Republic of China era, the Zongzi now looked as if it were wearing a garment soaked in blood. 0
