His gaze seemed to flicker towards me, almost imperceptibly. 0

When he approached closer, I asked, "What's wrong, Mud Man?" He shook his head, remaining silent. As he walked past me, he said, "Come here!" Then he leaned against the wall and sat down, with a few of his followers following suit. 0

"His mood doesn't seem good!" Zhang Tong suddenly whispered. 0

I nodded and walked towards where the Mud Man was. A few of his followers were dismissed by him. At that moment, the Mud Man's expression had turned serious. He stood up and whispered a few words in my ear, leaving me stunned! 0

This news was undoubtedly surprising to me! 0

But seeing the Mud Man's demeanor, I couldn't help but ask, "Do you suspect me?" My voice was calm. 0

The Mud Man merely shook his head and offered no further explanation. 0

I also sat down against the wall. 0

"I just suddenly feel a bit tired!" The Mud Man sighed after speaking. 0

This was the first time in all these years of knowing him that he had expressed such a sentiment. 0

"The situation is becoming more and more complicated!" he added, then stood up and brushed off the dust from his clothes before helping me to my feet. 0

"How's your injury?" 0

"Not bad!" 0

His words wrapped me in another layer of confusion, and my thoughts grew heavy. 0

I looked at the group of people in front of me; each one was covered in dirt and grime, yet every face bore a smile. Those Mingqi were cradled in their arms, and they had struck it rich this time. 0

Fat Ma rushed over to chat with me. But just then, a loud crash interrupted everything! 0

The sound of the palace doors being slammed echoed increasingly louder. 0

Fat Ma was happily chatting when he suddenly exclaimed, "Damn it, that Eternal Zongzi isn't coming after us, is it?" 0

"Not impossible!" 0

We all tensed up instantly, nervously watching the door shake. Just a minute later, the door was slammed open. 0

"Damn!" Fat Ma cursed. 0

Suddenly, someone shouted, "It's not Zongzi!" Everyone relaxed for a moment as two people stumbled in, covered in wounds. It didn't take long for someone to recognize them; they were from the group that had entered before us. 0

"What happened?" someone asked. 0

The man gasped for breath and, without waiting to catch his breath, shouted that he needed water. After drinking, he finally spoke: "It's all traps; everyone is dead!" His tone was filled with unspeakable panic. 0

Upon hearing this news, we were all stunned. "Everyone is dead?" 0

"Yes." 0

"Where are they?" I asked urgently. 0

The two men remained silent for a moment before advising us not to go there; it was too dangerous! 0

The others showed signs of fear upon hearing this news and were unwilling to go. In the end, we had no choice but to let them tell us the general direction. Zhang Tong was quite knowledgeable about geography; after listening to their account, he grasped the general idea. 0

"Fatty, help me out!" I called out. 0

Fat Ma was loaded down with his belongings and had no time to assist me. Ultimately, for the sake of the situation, he had to abandon some things. We then headed in that direction. After taking a few steps, Old Ghost seemed somewhat reluctant. 0

Fat Ma called him a coward! 0

I said it was fine; he was here seeking fortune too. If something happened here, we couldn't take responsibility. In the end, Old Ghost and those who were unwilling to go stayed behind. 0

I urged Zhang Tong not to go either, but she insisted on following us. There was no way to dissuade her. 0

The remaining four or five followers of the Mud Man, the same group of Eerie Figures from before, lingered around him. The Mud Man wanted to disperse them, but it was futile; they clung to him like shadows, refusing to leave. In the end, the team was finalized with a total of nine people. 0

We found ourselves in an underground palace, its grandeur rivaling that of the Terracotta Army, I imagined. 0

The vast complex of palaces connected one to another, with numerous passageways buried beneath this darkness. We stepped out of the palace doors, and with Zhang Tong as our guide, we headed toward the area filled with traps. 0

A chilling wind howled from somewhere unknown, bringing an eerie cold that made me shiver involuntarily. Fat Ma leaned against my shoulder, humming a tune. 0

We traversed several passageways in that direction, passing by palaces without entering them again; it seemed unnecessary at this point. 0

I suspected that those who had entered before us had already reached the most crucial part of the Ghostly Heavenly Palace. Otherwise, there wouldn't be so many traps set up and so many lives lost. I glanced at the Mud Man; perhaps the answers he sought would soon reveal themselves. 0

I had always been curious about the Mud Man's identity but had never asked. Over the years, we had never let this question cause any conflict; it seemed to have been forgotten. 0

However, with so many people suddenly appearing around him this time, my curiosity about his identity deepened as I pondered silently. 0

Fat Ma continued to hum a lewd tune without a care in the world. I felt compelled to remind him to be cautious and not get into trouble later on. 0

Fat Ma acknowledged me and turned to glance at the Mud Man. Looking at those following him, he exclaimed, "Mud Man, where did you gather such a crowd? You’re quite impressive! Get me some followers like that too!" 0

The Mud Man was momentarily speechless upon hearing this. 0

Fat Ma chuckled to himself. 0

The team continued moving forward. 0

"Hey Fatty, what are you laughing about?" I asked. 0

"I just felt like laughing all of a sudden! Can’t I let it out?" Soon enough, I found myself laughing along with Fat Ma. 0

After passing through another passageway, the Mud Man suddenly became cautious and said, "Be careful; there's a smell of blood!" 0

His words made us tense up and become more alert. I instructed Zhang Tong to move behind me. At first, he was reluctant but eventually I said, "You don’t have as much experience as we do!" 0

Zhang Tong finally compromised. As a trained archaeologist, adventure was not suited for her. 0

Fat Ma supported my shoulder and walked a few steps forward. I suddenly said softly, "Let go!" 0

"Can you manage?" 0

I straightened my chest and replied, "Of course I can!" 0

Fat Ma looked at me with skepticism but eventually tried to loosen his grip. He watched as I took a few steps before finally feeling reassured. 0

I pushed myself to move forward, beads of sweat forming on my forehead. The wound on my foot throbbed painfully, while the injuries on my shoulders were more tolerable. 0

After taking a few more steps, I reached out to steady myself against the wall of the passageway. Just when I felt I could go no further, someone suddenly supported me. Turning my head, I saw it was the clay figure. 0

"Don't overdo it!" 0

"I'm fine!" 0

Seeing this, Fat Ma rushed over and said, "Old Sun, I told you that you couldn't do it! But you just wouldn't believe me." 0

" Fat Ma, stop putting me down!" Zhang Tong interjected at that moment. 0
