Later, A-Shan arrived with a very handsome doctor.
Jono thought that everyone around Jin Chengyan was attractive. Just look at Yan Beiting and this doctor; A-Shan also belonged to that type of cool, charming men.
Jono quietly stayed in the kitchen because Jin Chengyan had mentioned he was hungry earlier. Since there were usually no servants at home, she took it upon herself to make porridge for him.
A-Shan came down from upstairs and politely said to Jono, "Thank you, Miss Qiao, for notifying me in time about the young master’s illness. Dr. Qi is examining him, and aside from a fever, there’s nothing serious. You don’t need to worry."
A-Shan rarely spoke so much to outsiders. Even Alice, who was often by Jin Chengyan's side, had never seen A-Shan talk this much.
But Jono felt that A-Shan wasn’t cold at all!
However, she didn’t really worry about Jin Chengyan…
"Um, I... I'm not worried..." Jono stirred the porridge in the pot while glancing at her watch; it was still early, and she shouldn’t be late for work.
But her boss had told her to take a good rest, which was all Jin Chengyan's doing!
Thinking of this, Jono stirred faster, causing some porridge to spill over the edge of the pot.
"Miss Qiao, please take good care of the young master." With that, A-Shan bowed deeply to Jono, startling her so much that she felt a bit unsteady.
"Um... I will... take good care of him." Well, perhaps A-Shan regarded her as a servant, which was why he entrusted her with this task!
Upon receiving Jono's response, A-Shan couldn't help but chuckle. His laughter was genuinely pure.
Then, Dr. Qi came down from upstairs and entered the kitchen.
"A-Shan, your young master is fine; he just needs to take his medicine on time," Qi Ziluo said as he took out the medication and placed it on the kitchen counter. "You work for Jin Mansion, right? This box contains pills to be taken three times a day, two pills each time. This is the oral solution, to be taken once in the morning and once in the evening. Do you remember?"
Jono nodded.
"Dr. Qi, Miss Qiao is not a servant here," A-Shan clarified for Jono.
"Oh?" Qi Ziluo responded in surprise, his gaze returning to Jono. "No wonder! I thought Ayan was so picky that even servants had to meet this standard!"
Qi Ziluo chuckled lightly, while Jono felt a bit embarrassed.
"I apologize for any offense; I hope you can forgive me," Qi Ziluo said, extending his hand to apologize to Jono.
Jono actually didn't mind Qi Ziluo's misunderstanding. "It's okay..."
Their hands clasped together briefly before Qi Ziluo withdrew his hand. "Hello, I'm Qi Ziluo, Ayan's personal doctor."
"Hello." Jono wasn't sure how to introduce himself, so he opted not to say anything.
Qi Ziluo seemed to be more than just Jin Chengyan's personal doctor because his next remark was, "Your relationship with Ayan must be quite special, considering you've moved into Jin Mansion. Shouldn't you start calling him 'brother-in-law' soon?"
Jono: "……"
"Dr. Qi!" A-Shan stepped in to block Jono.
Jono quickly turned around to look at the porridge in the pot.
Qi Ziluo mistook Jono for being shy. "Miss Qiao, we'll see each other next time."
"Um..." Jono could only stir the porridge to cover her embarrassment.
Qi Ziluo walked out with A-Shan, but she could still hear Qi Ziluo asking A-Shan, "Is your young master really coming? Can this Miss Qiao truly surpass that person's influence and take over the Eastern Palace?"
Jono didn't catch what A-Shan said, but she knew that the person Qi Ziluo mentioned must be Ruan Shengyu.
"Ah..." Lost in thought, Jono rested her hand on the edge of the pot and burned herself, snapping back to reality with a red mark on the back of her hand.
She composed herself, ladled the cooked porridge into a bowl, placed it on a tray along with the medicine, and headed to Jin Chengyan's room.
