After the incident with Wang Jue, the atmosphere in the office was not great. Fortunately, as it was close to quitting time, Jono thought about having dinner with Huo Yawen and managed to push that matter aside.
Little did he know that Huo Yawen had stood him up; an emergency patient from a car accident had come into the hospital, and they needed extra hands, so he was called in to help.
Jono thought to himself that at least he hadn’t ordered food in advance.
Just as he was about to leave after paying for his coffee, a man sat down across from him.
A very handsome man.
Jono considered Jin Chengyan to be one of the most attractive men he had ever seen, but this man across from him was equally impressive.
Or rather, he and Jin Chengyan had two different styles.
Jin Chengyan embodied the archetype of a domineering CEO—stern and imposing.
In contrast, the man before him exuded a warm aura, yet upon closer inspection, there was an air about him that seemed to keep others at bay.
Suddenly, Jono realized that whenever she encountered a man now, she instinctively compared them to Jin Chengyan. It seemed that Jin Chengyan had become her internal template for men.
“Hello, I’m Yan Beiting,” the man said as he introduced himself, making Jono feel a bit awkward for not introducing himself first. “I apologize for meeting you this way, but I am also compelled by circumstances.”
Jono stared at the man across from her, somewhat taken aback.
However, the Yan surname was not commonly seen in Qin Cheng.
It was easy for Jono to think of that low-key family, which ranked just below the Jin Family.
But she had never heard of the name Yan Beiting.
"Actually, I am quite reluctant about this way of meeting as well, but the elders have their wishes, and we juniors can only comply. After today’s meeting, we can maintain a normal friendship, but taking it further is out of the question; I currently have no plans to get married."
He had just returned home a few days ago when his grandfather pressured him to meet a potential match. As a sensible and filial junior, Yan Beiting would not go against his grandfather's wishes. Meeting was fine, but marriage was off the table.
Hearing this, Jono finally understood that the man in front of her regarded her as his prospective partner.
"Um... I'm sorry, Mr. Yan, but I also have no plans to get married at the moment," she said, since she was already married.
Yan Beiting paused for a moment, then smiled. "It seems Miss Sun and I share the same thoughts; that makes things much easier."
"The reason I don't want to get married is that I'm not Miss Sun; you must have mistaken me for someone else!" It was quite careless to confuse potential partners like this.
Yan Beiting looked slightly surprised. It was all his fault for being in such a rush when he came out. His grandfather had wanted to give him a photo; he had glanced at it briefly and when he entered the restaurant, he only saw Jono alone. He thought she looked somewhat familiar and approached her.
Who would have thought…
At this point, Yan Beiting felt a bit embarrassed. He politely stood up and extended his hand to her. "I'm sorry, I was careless and thought you were my blind date."
Yan Beiting was a well-educated man, and so was Jono.
She also stood up and shook hands with Yan Beiting, as a way of forgiving him.
"It's alright," Jono smiled. "However, even if you don't plan to get married, mistaking your blind date is quite impolite, especially towards the woman."
Jono gave Yan Beiting a glance as the real Miss Sun approached them.
