“Jono, now that you've left this circle, sneaking into the wealthy district only brings shame to yourself and your father,” Ni Yue said, linking arms with Shen Fengye, her tone unfriendly.
Earlier, while she was jogging down the street, Ni Yue had suddenly pulled her car in front of her, nearly causing a collision!
Jono rolled her eyes and tried to walk past them, not wanting to engage in an argument here.
However, Ni Yue wouldn’t let Jono go. Instead, she grabbed her arm and pulled out an invitation from her bag. “This is my wedding invitation with Fengye. You have to come!”
It was just like Ni Yue and Shen Fengye—truly relentless.
“Not accepting it? Is it because you don’t have a gown to attend a high-class banquet? Well, considering your family is bankrupt now,” Ni Yue said, feigning disappointment as she attempted to retract the invitation. “You also don’t have time; you need to take care of your seriously ill father and work. It must be tough for you. If I were in your shoes, I would definitely…”
“Bang—” Before Jono could finish her sentence, a loud crash interrupted them.
The three turned simultaneously to look at Ni Yue’s BMW, which had been violently hit by a black Cayenne. The Cayenne appeared unscathed, but the rear of Ni Yue’s BMW was dented in.
“Oh my God!” Ni Yue screamed. She had just bought the car and hadn’t even driven it a few times before it got wrecked!
Beside her, Shen Fengye had remained silent while she hurled those harsh words at Jono. Whether he couldn’t find the right moment to speak or was intentionally watching her humiliation didn’t matter now; he was busy comforting Ni Yue after the crash.
Jono let out a cold laugh. How had she never noticed that Shen Fengye had the potential to be a kept man?
"You, how could you drive like that? Didn't you see there's a car parked here?" Ni Yue shouted, pointing at the closed window of the Cayenne, and in her frustration, she even slapped the window.
However, the person inside the car seemed unwilling to get out, leaving those outside waiting for half a minute.
Jono felt a sense of satisfaction; someone needed to put Ni Yue in her place. Although Jono wasn't sure why Ni Yue felt entitled to shout at her—was it because she had stolen her boyfriend?
She lost interest in the scene and wondered if it was time to head back to Jin Mansion, not knowing whether Ruan Shengyu had left yet.
Just as she was about to turn away, the window of the Cayenne rolled down, revealing a familiar face.
Jin Chengyan.
Not only Jono but also Ni Yue and Shen Fengye were taken aback.
The last incident with Ni Yue was still fresh in her mind; she hadn't expected to run into Jin Chengyan again. Could it be that Jono had some connection with him? Ni Yue felt a surge of resentment but was at a loss for what to do.
Her expression froze, unsure whether to smile apologetically or feign innocence.
"Parking your car in the middle of the road and waiting for someone to crash into it? Miss Ni certainly has an interesting hobby!" Jin Chengyan scoffed, his gaze shifting past Ni Yue to Jono, his eyes narrowing with a hint of menace that made her too scared to move.
"I... I'm sorry! I'll move my car right away," Ni Yue stammered, looking for help from Shen Fengye. However, after their last encounter, she felt as if everything she did was going wrong. It was best not to provoke Jin Chengyan; he remained silent, his lips pressed tightly together.
"Is saying sorry enough? My car got damaged because of yours!"
Ni Yue was on the verge of tears. "I'll... I'll take the car to get it repaired..."
"What will I drive while it's being fixed?" Jin Chengyan's tone was clearly aggressive.
Jono, watching the scene from a few meters away, couldn't help but laugh. Jin Chengyan had completely shed his image as an aloof nobleman; he now appeared to be a rogue deliberately making things difficult for the girl.
Yet, inexplicably, Jono found that Jin Chengyan, sitting in the car with a fierce expression and an intimidating demeanor, looked incredibly handsome!
