"What's going on?" Ruoxi looked at Wang Niu with confusion. Wang Niu shook his head and replied, "I can't say for sure. Let's not dwell on that for now, Ruoxi. Let's go check the prison; there might be something unexpected inside."
With that, Wang Niu started walking towards the prison. At that moment, Ruoxi's expression changed as if she had thought of something important. She quickly stepped forward to stop Wang Niu. "Wang Niu, we can't act recklessly. What if we run into something dangerous?"
Wang Niu paused, taken aback by her words. He looked at Ruoxi with a puzzled expression and said, "There are dangers, but we can't just give up on rescuing Feng Ju because of that."
Ruoxi was momentarily stunned, looking at Wang Niu in confusion. Suddenly, she noticed a flicker of disgust in his expression.
This left Ruoxi speechless; Wang Niu had never looked at her like that before.
"Wang Jun, what's wrong with you?" Ruoxi stepped closer and placed a hand on Wang Niu's shoulder. But at that moment, he suddenly pushed her away, leaving her feeling hurt and surprised. Just then, Ruoxi sensed something was off.
"Wang Jun," she called out cautiously, but Wang Niu seemed unaware of her presence, his gaze turning strangely unsettling. A bizarre entity appeared above his head.
"What is that?" Ruoxi wondered aloud. At that moment, Wang Niu's eyes took on a terrifying look, and Ruoxi felt a sudden realization wash over her—could this be the cause of Wang Niu's strange behavior?
Quietly, Ruoxi approached the entity from behind. For some reason, it seemed to sense her intent to attack and slowly turned around. In an instant, Ruoxi reacted quickly and managed to grab hold of it. However, it was far more formidable than she had anticipated. The entity lunged at her unexpectedly, catching Ruoxi off guard. Before long, everything went dark before her eyes; she could see nothing and felt a wave of panic wash over her.
"Ah!" Ruoxi screamed in fear as it felt like her eyes were under attack.
At that moment, she sensed the pain gradually diminishing.
"Ruoxi, don't be afraid; I'm here," she heard Wang Niu's voice beside her. This surprised Ruoxi—could it be that Wang Niu had returned to normal? A flicker of joy surged within her.
After a while, the pain she had been feeling vanished completely.
Before her appeared a familiar sight.
"Ruoxi, are you okay?" he asked her gently.
Ruoxi looked at Wang Niu with a touched expression and said, "I'm fine, really. But what about you? Did you discover something just now?"
Upon hearing Ruoxi's words, Wang Niu's face turned pale. He replied, "Just now, I don't know what happened. I suddenly felt out of control. Ruoxi, what I said earlier wasn't true. You aren't upset, are you?"
Ruoxi paused for a moment, a flicker of discomfort crossing her face. She thought to herself that she shouldn't feel hurt.
However, she didn't want Wang Niu to know that, so she smiled and said, "It's nothing. I'm okay. I know that wasn't your intention."
Wang Niu felt a surge of emotion upon hearing her words. He pulled Ruoxi into an embrace and kissed her gently. Ruoxi felt warmth spread through her heart and hugged Wang Niu back.
At that moment, a loud noise suddenly echoed towards them.
Ruoxi reacted immediately and said to Wang Niu, "Wang Jun, something's wrong! We might be in danger!"
As soon as she finished speaking, they felt a fierce gust of cold wind rushing toward them. Ruoxi quickly pulled Wang Niu behind a nearby tree.
Wang Niu was momentarily stunned as he looked around before turning his gaze back to Ruoxi. "What's happening?"
Just as Ruoxi was about to speak, her expression changed as if she had seen something surprising. She nudged Wang Niu and gestured for him to look over there. Wang Niu blinked in confusion and turned to see what she was pointing at, which only deepened his bewilderment. "Ruoxi, what's going on?"
"Look over there! Isn't that Feng Ju?" Ruoxi pointed ahead at Wang Niu.
Wang Niu was taken aback for a moment but then focused his gaze again. Sure enough, it was Feng Ju.
"Feng Ju? How could he be here?" Wang Niu exclaimed in shock, as he had sensed Feng Ju's presence in the prison. How could he possibly be out here?
"I don't know either. It's possible that what we're seeing is an illusion," Ruoxi replied.
Ruoxi's words left Wang Niu momentarily stunned. After a while, Feng Ju, who was in front of them, suddenly looked in their direction, causing both Wang Niu and Ruoxi to feel a surge of worry, nearly giving away their position.
"Wang Jun, be careful," Ruoxi whispered to Wang Niu.
Wang Niu nodded as he noticed Feng Ju walking toward them. Just then, a strange figure appeared before them—a shadowy figure with no discernible features.
Wang Niu was taken aback, feeling puzzled. Just as he was about to speak, Ruoxi shook her head at him and said, "Wang Jun, don’t say anything yet; that thing is still here."
Ruoxi seemed to communicate this through a mental connection they shared.
Wang Niu paused for a moment and nodded. Soon after, both the shadow and Feng Ju vanished from sight.
They stepped out cautiously, and Wang Niu couldn't hold back any longer. "Ruoxi, what was that thing just now?"
Ruoxi kept her gaze fixed in the direction where the figure had been and replied, "Wang Jun, if I’m not mistaken, that should be something following us. And remember when I said Feng Ju was a fake? Now it’s confirmed. What we need to do now is find Feng Ju as quickly as possible and rescue him. Restoring the Underworld is our top priority."
After hearing Ruoxi's words, Wang Niu nodded in agreement. "You're right, Ruoxi. We shouldn't waste any more time; let's go."
Ruoxi nodded and followed Wang Niu as they made their way to the prison. As soon as they descended into the dungeon, they heard a series of rushing winds that put Wang Niu on high alert. He immediately extended his hand and created a protective barrier between himself and Ruoxi, shielding them at once.
The gusts of wind surged toward them but were blocked by the barrier Wang Niu had conjured.
"What is this?" Ruoxi asked, looking at Wang Niu with confusion.
"This must be some kind of danger set up in the prison," he replied.
As they were speaking, a sudden and terrifying sound echoed from an unknown source, causing Wang Niu and Ruoxi to become instantly alert.
"Wang Jun, what's wrong?"
Wang Niu looked at Ruoxi and said, "Something's not right; that sound is off."
Ruoxi paused for a moment, feeling somewhat helpless. This made the caution in Wang Niu's eyes grow stronger. He instinctively took Ruoxi's hand, and in that instant, Ruoxi felt something. She turned to Wang Niu and said, "I know what it is; that's Feng Ju's voice. Wang Jun, we need to hurry over there. Something might have happened to Feng Ju."
Upon hearing this, Wang Niu immediately took Ruoxi's hand and headed in that direction.
The sound they heard grew louder, making Wang Niu increasingly uneasy.
"Wang Jun, do you think something serious has happened to Feng Ju and the others?" Ruoxi asked, her expression filled with anxiety.
"It shouldn't be anything too serious; I trust Feng Ju," he replied. However, deep down, he was also uncertain. Just then, they seemed to sense something.
The ground suddenly shook violently, tightening Ruoxi's heart in an instant. Wang Niu was momentarily stunned but quickly followed Ruoxi to the side. "Don't make a sound; it seems something is coming."
Ruoxi froze, her gaze fixed ahead. Before them appeared a large and imposing monster, startling her.
"Oh my God, Wang Jun! That's the Black Beast! What is it doing here?" Ruoxi's face turned pale.
Wang Niu was taken aback by Ruoxi's words and asked her, "What do you mean by Black Beast?"
Ruoxi's expression grew serious. Wang Niu felt something strange at that moment as the Black Beast before them suddenly became extremely agitated.
In an instant, the Black Beast charged violently around them, causing stones to tumble down. Ruoxi was both shocked and frightened as one of the stones came crashing toward them. She took a deep breath just as another stone seemed to fall from above.
"Ah!" Ruoxi screamed as the explosion occurred, and the Black Beast lunged directly at them.
Wang Niu's eyes widened in shock as he quickly pulled Ruoxi into a safe spot.
"Ruoxi, are you okay?" Wang Niu asked nervously as he looked at her.
Ruoxi shook her head and replied, "I'm fine; don't worry."
Wang Niu's eyes narrowed as he noticed the blood oozing from Ruoxi's hand after being struck.
This made Wang Niu extremely worried. Before long, the Black Beast charged toward them, causing the ground beneath their feet to tremble violently.
Wang Niu took a deep breath, and at that moment, Ruoxi seemed to sense something. She unleashed a cloud of black mist, trapping the Black Beast.
"Wang Jun, we need to leave quickly. If we don't, we'll be in big trouble," Ruoxi said urgently.
Wang Niu felt the urgency as well and replied to Ruoxi, "Okay."
Then, the two hurriedly left the area. Not long after they departed, the black mist dissipated.
Wang Niu took another deep breath and said to Ruoxi, "That was really dangerous. Thankfully, we're both okay."
Ruoxi nodded in agreement, feeling relieved. "Yes, if we had been any later, that Black Beast might have caught us."
"Right. Now we should hurry and rescue Feng Ju," Ruoxi said.
Wang Niu nodded. Then Ruoxi pulled out an object and placed it in front of Wang Niu; it resembled an Hour Hand.
Curious, Wang Niu looked at Ruoxi and asked, "What is this?"
Ruoxi explained, "This Hour Hand can help us find Feng Ju."
Afterward, Ruoxi cast a spell on the Hour Hand. It began to spin rapidly, causing Wang Niu's heart to skip a beat; he felt a surge of anxiety.
"Ruoxi, what's wrong with the Hour Hand? It's spinning non-stop," Wang Niu asked, looking at her in confusion.
Ruoxi frowned in frustration. Was the Hour Hand broken?
Just then, the Hour Hand suddenly stopped. Ruoxi's expression froze as she looked in the direction it pointed. To her surprise, it was indicating a large rock.
Ruoxi furrowed her brow, becoming puzzled. Wang Niu glanced at her and asked, "Ruoxi, what's going on?"
Ruoxi glanced at Wang Niu and said, "It's possible that the person we're looking for is inside this large stone."
Wang Niu was momentarily stunned by Ruoxi's words, unable to believe what he heard. He looked at Ruoxi and then at the stone in front of them, saying, "Are you saying it's Feng Ju?"
Ruoxi nodded. "Yes, Hour Hand told us that Feng Ju is indeed inside this large stone."
Wang Niu furrowed his brow. Suddenly, the large stone began to tremble for some unknown reason. In an instant, Wang Niu's heart raced as if he had discovered something. He turned to Ruoxi and said, "Look, it really is Feng Ju! The stone is releasing a lot of black mist; it seems they have poisoned Feng Ju somehow."
Upon hearing Wang Niu's words, Ruoxi was taken aback. "Wang Jun, what do you mean they have done something to Feng Ju?"
Wang Niu nodded at Ruoxi and then approached the large stone. Just then, the black mist from the stone surged toward Wang Niu, who froze for a moment. Before he could react, Ruoxi pulled him back.
"Be careful!"
Ruoxi's voice was filled with urgency.
"I'm fine, don't worry. But what's going on with this stone? Why is the black mist getting thicker?" Wang Niu felt a surge of frustration.
"Wang Jun, look over there."
At that moment, Ruoxi pointed to another area. Wang Niu turned his gaze and saw a dark little river hidden behind the stone, which left him momentarily speechless.
"What... what is this? Could this Black River be the reason for all of this?" Wang Niu asked in confusion.
Ruoxi shook his head at Wang Niu. Meanwhile, the large stone in front of them began to tremble even more violently.
"This is bad; Feng Ju's soul might be getting pulled out!" Ruoxi's expression turned grim.
As soon as Ruoxi finished speaking, they saw a dark shadow emerging from the large stone. Ruoxi shuddered, sensing something ominous. She turned to Wang Niu and said, "Wang Jun, keep an eye on things for me while I try to bring Feng Ju's soul back."
Wang Niu nodded, feeling good about himself. Just then, he seemed to hear something and stood up to look around. A wisp of black mist appeared, rushing towards him like a fierce tiger. This surprised Wang Niu. Before he could think for long, the black mist quickly entangled him. His heart trembled for a moment, but he quickly cast a spell to block the mist. In an instant, the black mist was dispersed by Wang Niu. However, he soon sensed danger approaching and swiftly cast another spell to confine the area around him, just in time to shield Ruoxi.
Wang Niu took a deep breath. At that moment, Ruoxi had already subdued Feng Ju's soul.
"Ruoxi, are you done?" Wang Niu asked her.
Ruoxi nodded and replied, "It's ready now; we can take a look in a bit."
Wang Niu was taken aback when suddenly, the black water behind the large rock splashed towards them for some unknown reason.
Wang Niu's heart skipped a beat, sensing the imminent danger that Ruoxi felt as well. She immediately cast a protective shield over both of them, and then the black water vanished.
"That was close," Ruoxi sighed deeply in relief. Just then, she seemed to sense something and suddenly turned to look behind her. The large rock exploded unexpectedly, startling both Wang Niu and Ruoxi. From the rubble emerged a figure.
"Wang Jun, look! It's Feng Ju!" Ruoxi exclaimed excitedly, pointing at the person in front of them.
Wang Niu looked over and saw Feng Ju lying on the ground. His heart sank instantly as memories flooded back to him.
"Wang Jun, what's wrong?" Ruoxi asked cautiously, noticing Wang Niu's shocked expression.
Wang Niu shook his head at Ruoxi and said, "I'm fine; I suddenly remember everything."
Ruoxi was momentarily stunned before a look of joy spread across her face. This excitement filled her heart with exhilaration as she said to Wang Niu, "That's wonderful!"
After saying this, Ruoxi and Wang Niu rushed towards Feng Ju, helping him up. After a while, Ruoxi suddenly felt something amiss; her face turned pale again.
"Feng Ju, what happened to you?" Wang Niu moved Feng Ju slightly but received no response. Worry filled his heart as he looked at Ruoxi and asked her, "Ruoxi, what's wrong with Feng Ju?"
Ruoxi furrowed her brows, her expression turning serious as she said, "Feng Ju's body is lacking a lot of energy. If we want Feng Ju to wake up, we need to let Feng Ju absorb some energy."
Upon hearing Ruoxi's words, Feng Ju was momentarily stunned, unable to believe what she had just said. "What did you say?"
Ruoxi repeated herself, and then Feng Ju moved closer to her. At that moment, Ruoxi seemed to remember something and turned to Wang Niu. "Wang Jun, we should leave here first. It's not safe, and we need to take care of Feng Ju."
Wang Niu thought for a moment and agreed with Ruoxi's reasoning. He said, "Alright, Ruoxi, please help me lift Feng Ju."
With Ruoxi's assistance, Wang Niu carried Feng Ju on his back. Just as they were about to get Feng Ju out, they suddenly heard a voice that sounded like a child's.
"Not good, someone is coming," Ruoxi said quickly as she and Wang Niu hid to the side. At that moment, Wang Niu felt a strong wave of dark mist.
"It seems we're in deep trouble. Ruoxi, keep an eye on Feng Ju while I deal with those things," Wang Niu said as he handed Feng Ju over to Ruoxi.
Ruoxi was taken aback as she received Feng Ju from Wang Niu's hands.
Before she could say a word, Wang Niu dashed out, causing her heart to fill with worry.
At that moment, the child noticed their presence.
"Heh heh, I didn't expect you to be so clever," the child said to them.
"Who are you?" Wang Niu's tone turned icy.
"You don't need to know who I am. You will die here today no matter what," the child replied with a strange smile on his face.
Wang Niu was momentarily stunned but quickly activated a spell. Dark mist began to swirl around the child, enveloping him in an instant and subduing him. A look of surprise appeared on the child's face.
"What... what did you do to me? If you know what's good for you, let me go quickly; otherwise, you will definitely die here," the child's voice took on an eerie tone that was somewhat terrifying.
Wang Niu remained calm and said to the child, "Is that so? I want to see if you can escape from my grasp."
The child was tightly bound, which made Wang Niu's heart race with anxiety. In truth, his memories had returned, but he still lacked the strength in his hands. Taking a deep breath, just then, a dazzling light suddenly erupted from Wang Niu's body. In an instant, this light pierced through the child's form, causing the child to let out a painful scream. At that moment, the child's body began to vanish at an alarming speed. Ruoxi was momentarily stunned, staring at Wang Niu in disbelief. Could it be that Wang Niu had regained his memories?
