Ruoxi looked at the child with a puzzled expression.
The child shook his head and said, "I... I don't know either. This is the first time I've discovered something like this."
Ruoxi was momentarily stunned. She turned to Wang Niu and asked, "What should we do now?"
Wang Niu furrowed his brows, suddenly feeling something deep within him. He closed his eyes, seemingly searching for something, which puzzled Ruoxi. She glanced around but found nothing unusual.
"Wang Jun, what are you doing?" Ruoxi asked Wang Niu.
Wang Niu remained silent, lost in thought. As Ruoxi reached out to touch him, the child pulled her back. "Queen of Heaven, you might disturb Heavenly Emperor Uncle. He is trying to find the spirit you need."
Ruoxi paused and looked at the child, whose face was serious.
She nodded in response. "Alright."
Then, Ruoxi fell silent. Meanwhile, Wang Niu's expression seemed to change dramatically. Ruoxi's gaze remained fixed on him until she noticed his shocked demeanor.
"Wang Jun, what's wrong?"
At that moment, Wang Niu opened his eyes and, seeing Ruoxi's worried look, immediately pulled her into an embrace. "It's nothing to worry about. I could sense Uncle Chen's spirit just now, but suddenly I can't anymore."
Ruoxi felt confused upon hearing Wang Niu's words. "Why can't you sense it all of a sudden?"
Wang Niu shook his head, equally perplexed. He looked at Ruoxi and said, "It seems there's a mysterious force around us blocking Uncle Chen's spirit's presence."
As soon as he said this, Ruoxi's expression changed immediately. She frowned and asked Wang Niu, "What did you say?"
Thinking Ruoxi hadn't heard him clearly, Wang Niu repeated himself. His heart raced with surprise as he looked at her and asked, "What's wrong?"
Ruoxi's face turned even paler as she shook her head at Wang Niu, saying, "It's possible that thing followed us to the Underworld."
"What?" Wang Niu exclaimed in surprise. Ruoxi sighed and added, "That's what I suspect. Just now, I felt a very strange aura."
"What kind of aura?" Wang Niu was momentarily stunned.
Ruoxi glanced at Wang Niu and said, "Do you know about Dark Turbid Qi?"
Upon hearing this, Wang Niu paused for a moment and shook his head. He asked Ruoxi, "What does Dark Turbid Qi mean?"
Ruoxi's expression became serious as he explained to Wang Niu that it was a dark and ominous aura. Once this aura appeared, it meant trouble. Just now, he had sensed that kind of energy.
After hearing Ruoxi's words, Wang Niu looked around as if searching for the aura Ruoxi had mentioned.
After a while, Wang Niu's gaze suddenly fixed on a spot to the left. His expression tensed up immediately. Then, without hesitation, he left the pool and flew toward the location he had just focused on. This left Ruoxi and the child looking puzzled as they watched Wang Niu.
"Queen of Heaven, what's Uncle Heavenly Emperor doing?" the child asked with a curious expression.
Ruoxi shook her head and replied, "I don't know either. It seems your uncle is looking for something."
As soon as she finished speaking, the child walked toward Wang Niu's position. At that moment, a thick fog suddenly appeared in front of them, leaving the child momentarily stunned.
"This is Yin-Yang Energy!" The child's face changed dramatically.
"Yin-Yang Energy?" Ruoxi was taken aback.
It seemed she had never heard of such a thing before.
The child quickly explained that Yin-Yang Energy was something forbidden in the Underworld because inhaling it could be dangerous.
Just after the child's explanation, something suddenly entered Wang Niu's mouth. He froze for a moment, his complexion turning pale. Not only that, but his entire body began to tremble as if he had been electrocuted.
This made Ruoxi anxious. Seeing Wang Niu in such a state, her face filled with worry. "What should we do? How can we save him?"
After she finished speaking, Wang Niu was at a loss, suddenly expelling a large amount of white foam, which startled her even more.
"Wang Jun, what's wrong?" Ruoxi felt increasingly anxious.
Wang Niu seemed unresponsive, remaining silent.
"This is bad, Queen of Heaven. Too much Yin-Yang Energy has entered Heavenly Emperor Uncle's body. We need to extract the Yin-Yang Energy from him."
With that, the child stepped in front of Wang Niu. In just a moment, a thick black mist began to emanate from Wang Niu, causing Ruoxi to furrow her brows. Could this be the Yin-Yang Energy the child mentioned earlier?
"What is happening?" Ruoxi asked the child.
The child replied that this was indeed the Yin-Yang Energy he had spoken of before.
Ruoxi's heart sank. While they were talking, the black mist surrounding Wang Niu had been extracted, but there was still no sign of movement from her. This left Ruoxi puzzled; what was going on? Why was there no indication that Wang Niu was awakening?
Ruoxi glanced at Wang Niu and noticed that her complexion had become particularly frightening. Just then, the child's voice suddenly reached her ears, startling Ruoxi as she realized he was speaking to her.
"Queen of Heaven, look! Heavenly Emperor Uncle's Vital Spirit has emerged!" Ruoxi froze in place.
Her gaze shifted to the top of Wang Niu's head, where her Vital Spirit had indeed appeared. If they weren't careful, it would vanish.
Ruoxi's heart trembled deeply. At that moment, for some unknown reason, Wang Niu's Vital Spirit suddenly burst forth.
Ruoxi was taken aback; she had never anticipated such a development.
"Queen of Heaven, what is happening?" The child was equally bewildered.
Just then, Wang Niu's body suddenly collapsed as if struck by something.
“Wang Jun,” Ruoxi's heart suddenly tightened. She quickly helped Wang Niu to his feet, but before long, she noticed that his body was starting to grow cold.
“Queen of Heaven, I feel something is wrong. If we can't retrieve Uncle Heavenly Emperor's Vital Spirit soon, Uncle Heavenly Emperor will be in trouble.”
The child's voice was filled with urgency.
Ruoxi furrowed her brow, and just then, a strange aura appeared before them.
At the same time, Wang Niu's Vital Spirit drifted to an unknown place.
Suddenly, Wang Niu's Vital Spirit fell, and he woke up. However, it wasn't long before he sensed something was off.
He looked at himself and realized he was completely transparent. Instantly, Wang Niu's face turned pale.
He glanced around and noticed that Ruoxi and the child were nowhere to be found. Where had they gone?
At that moment, a terrifying voice echoed before him. Wang Niu was drawn to it, and his gaze shifted to a grassy area.
Could there be something in front of him?
Without thinking too much, Wang Niu walked over. It was then that he saw a faint red glow emanating from the grass. The light was blinding, and he could sense the presence of Uncle Chen's aura.
As he moved closer, another mournful cry pierced the air, sending shivers down Wang Niu's spine.
He swallowed hard and cautiously approached.
When Wang Niu pushed aside the grass in front of him, he was met with a horrifying sight. He inhaled sharply, unsure of what to do next when suddenly those terrifying entities noticed him and turned their gazes toward Wang Niu. At that moment, he wanted to flee but found himself rooted to the spot, confusion washing over him. The dreadful beings slowly approached him, tightening his breath.
"Cluck, I didn't expect to find a Wandering Soul here. We won't have to eat that unnutritious Wandering Soul anymore," said a terrifying Wandering Soul.
Upon hearing this, Wang Niu's heart trembled. He looked towards a certain direction and saw Uncle Chen's ghost hovering nearby. Wang Niu's heart sank; it turned out Uncle Chen's spirit was here.
However, he needed to deal with these terrifying entities to free Uncle Chen. After a while, Wang Niu sensed something was off, as his body felt unusually heavy. Pain flickered across Wang Niu's face, and soon he felt his strength draining away. At that moment, the dragon within him burst forth.
It instantly filled Wang Niu with energy, and in an instant, his vitality was restored. Then, Wang Niu began to eliminate the surrounding entities.
"Ah!" those beings cried out in agony. Satisfied, Wang Niu nodded. Just then, he noticed Uncle Chen's ghost seemed to be on guard.
Wang Niu's heart skipped a beat as he rushed in front of Uncle Chen's spirit. Just as he intended to capture it, Uncle Chen's ghost vanished.
Wang Niu felt a wave of frustration wash over him. At that moment, he sensed a force suddenly pulling him back.
In an instant, everything went dark before his eyes; he couldn't see anything. Just when confusion filled his mind, a familiar voice broke through the silence, causing Wang Niu to open his eyes wide. It was Ruoxi's voice.
Wang Niu exclaimed with joy, "Ruoxi! I just saw Uncle Chen's ghost, but unfortunately, it disappeared."
Ruoxi was momentarily stunned and looked at Wang Niu. "Wang Jun, do you mean your Vital Spirit followed Uncle Chen's Vital Spirit?"
Wang Niu paused at Ruoxi's words and replied, "Vital Spirit? Didn't I use my body just now? It was my Vital Spirit."
Ruoxi blinked in surprise at Wang Niu's response and nodded.
This puzzled Wang Niu; why had his Vital Spirit emerged?
"Queen of Heaven, Heavenly Emperor Uncle, let's not talk for now. We should leave this place; I'll take you back. We won't find anything here for a while," said the child.
Afterward, Ruoxi and Wang Niu followed the child.
Along the way, Wang Niu seemed lost in thought, which left him perplexed about why Uncle Chen's ghost kept disappearing.
"Wang Jun, what are you thinking about?" Ruoxi asked curiously as she looked at him.
Wang Niu shook his head and replied, "I’m wondering why Uncle Chen’s ghost keeps vanishing."
After speaking, Wang Niu seemed to remember something and said to Ruoxi, "Ruoxi, do you remember what you told me before?"
Upon hearing Wang Niu's words, Ruoxi was momentarily stunned, recalling the conversation, and his expression changed.
Wang Niu already knew that Ruoxi was aware of it. He then quietly used his energy to create a protective barrier around himself and Ruoxi.
"What is this about?" Ruoxi asked, looking puzzled at Wang Niu.
Wang Niu glanced around cautiously, which left Ruoxi feeling confused. "Wang Jun, did you discover something?"
Wang Niu nodded and said, "Do you remember what you told me? You mentioned that there was something around us. Just now, I did a small test, and I indeed sensed unusual energy nearby."
Ruoxi was taken aback by Wang Niu's words. Just as he was about to look around, Wang Niu stopped him. "Don't look. If you do, those things will notice."
With that warning from Wang Niu, Ruoxi felt even more hesitant to look.
Once they entered the children's territory, the strange energy seemed to vanish from Wang Niu's face.
"Those things are gone," Wang Niu said to Ruoxi.
Ruoxi was very surprised. He looked at Wang Niu and said, "So those things have really left?"
Ruoxi paused for a moment and then asked, "They just left like that?"
He still found it hard to believe.
Wang Niu glanced outside again and confirmed that indeed nothing was there. He assured Ruoxi, "Don't worry; those things have truly left."
After saying that, Ruoxi's expression finally relaxed.
She looked at Wang Niu and asked, "So what should we do next? Should we try to draw these things out?"
Wang Niu pondered Ruoxi's words for a moment before replying, "Let's not rush. I'm thinking it over. For now, let's settle in."
Just as Wang Niu finished speaking, a child walked out. Seeing their puzzled expressions, the child asked, "What's wrong with you?"
Ruoxi was about to speak but seemed to remember something and changed her mind. "It's nothing. Do you remember what the Queen of Heaven sent to your mother before?"
The child froze for a moment and shook their head. A complex emotion flashed in Ruoxi's eyes.
"Look at my head; I've forgotten everything. I didn't bring you anything. Come on, take us to our room."
The child looked at Ruoxi curiously and then led them to their room.
"Queen of Heaven, Heavenly Emperor Uncle, you settle in first. I have some things to attend to," the child said before leaving.
Ruoxi kept her gaze on the child, which intrigued Wang Niu. He asked her, "Ruoxi, why were you staring at the child just now?"
Ruoxi turned to face Wang Niu and replied, "I think I've noticed something."
Wang Niu was taken aback and asked what she had noticed.
Ruoxi glanced around before saying to Wang Niu, "Don't you find this child a bit strange?"
Wang Niu understood Ruoxi's words and was momentarily stunned. Why did she say that?
Ruoxi then explained her earlier thoughts to Wang Niu. Upon hearing this, Wang Niu was shocked and looked at Ruoxi in disbelief. However, that didn't necessarily mean the child was fake.
"Ruoxi, are you sure you're not just being overly anxious?" Wang Niu asked, still surprised.
Ruoxi's tone was firm. "Wang Niu, don't you believe me?"
Wang Niu shook his head, pondering seriously once again. After a while, Wang Niu was startled, noticing the awkward expression on Wang Niu's face.
"What’s going on?" Wang Niu looked at Ruoxi in surprise.
Ruoxi's expression had turned grave. She looked at Wang Niu and said, "I guess something must have happened to Feng Ju and the others."
Upon hearing Ruoxi's words, Wang Niu was instantly stunned. He looked at Ruoxi with disbelief and asked, "Who is this Feng Ju you’re talking about?"
Ruoxi then realized that Wang Niu had no recollection of what had happened. She proceeded to explain everything to him.
After a while, Wang Niu understood. He said to Ruoxi, "That can't be true. Isn't Feng Ju the King of Hell? How could anything happen to him?"
This statement also puzzled Ruoxi. Logically speaking, Feng Ju, being the King of Hell, should be safe. Yet her instincts told her otherwise.
"I just thought of a great idea," Ruoxi suddenly exclaimed, her face lighting up as she looked at Wang Niu.
"What’s the plan?"
Ruoxi shared her idea with Wang Niu, who also felt it was a good one after hearing it.
Soon after, the two stepped outside and arrived at a pavilion.
Ruoxi appeared very calm as she surveyed the surroundings and said to Wang Niu, "Wang Jun, don’t you feel anything unusual?"
Wang Niu glanced around discreetly and noticed that everything seemed peaceful; there was nothing out of the ordinary. Just then, his expression grew serious as he sensed that the atmosphere here was quite off.
"Wang Jun," Ruoxi said when she saw Wang Niu silent, gently nudging him.
Wang Niu snapped back to attention and replied to Ruoxi, "I see it now; the energy around here feels wrong. There’s an eerie presence everywhere."
Ruoxi nodded in agreement with Wang Niu. "Yes, you’re right. There’s a very strange energy surrounding us that can drain our strength."
Wang Niu was momentarily stunned. He turned to Ruoxi and said, "If that's the case, we can't stay here, because this place will consume our energy at any moment, and it's also very dangerous."
Ruoxi nodded at Wang Niu's words. She was already aware of what he said, but they couldn't leave this place just yet.
If something went wrong here and they didn't rescue Feng Ju and the others, it was possible that they would all perish, and even the entire Three Realms could be doomed.
Ruoxi took a deep breath, suddenly feeling the pressure on her intensify.
"Wang Jun, we still can't leave because those things are lurking in the shadows while we are exposed in the light."
As soon as she finished speaking, a strange wind suddenly blew toward them, causing Ruoxi to become instantly alert. She subtly nudged Wang Niu and communicated through their minds, saying, "Be careful, something is coming."
This warning immediately heightened Wang Niu's vigilance. Just then, a dark shadow appeared before them.
Wang Niu was taken aback as the shadow slowly transformed into a very familiar figure.
When the shadow fully revealed its true form, Wang Niu's expression changed oddly; he felt as if he had seen this figure somewhere before.
Wang Niu hesitated for a moment, feeling at a loss for words.
Meanwhile, Ruoxi recognized who it was—it was Feng Ju.
"Wang Jun, this is Feng Ju."
As soon as she spoke, the dark shadow before them suddenly vanished. This made Ruoxi's heart tremble for a moment. Then Wang Niu nudged her again, signaling her to look elsewhere. Ruoxi turned her gaze away, which caused Wang Niu to pause for a moment. He didn't know what came over him but instinctively grabbed Ruoxi's hand and started chasing after that shadow.
