The atmosphere in Jin Wangfu was eerily quiet. Feng Ju and I glanced around, noticing that there was nothing unusual, not even a hint of Yin Qi.
This made both of us feel something was off.
"Wang Jun, everything here seems too normal," Wind Lord said to me.
I nodded and waved my hand in the air, causing tiny starlights to appear. These starlights then entered Jin Wangfu.
Ghost Child looked at our actions with a puzzled expression and asked, "Masters, what are you doing?"
I turned to Ghost Child and suddenly thought of something. I asked him, "Can you sense the presence of others like you using your own aura?"
Ghost Child paused for a moment after hearing my question, then quickly understood. He nodded, closed his eyes, and seemed to be trying to feel with his own aura.
After a while, the starlight I sent out returned. I frowned; this Jin Wangfu was indeed strange. The starlight had not been affected at all. If there were something wrong with Jin Wangfu, the starlight would have reacted. The absence of any reaction indicated that Jin Wangfu was normal. But could Judge's words be false?
Feng Ju glanced at Jin Wangfu and then looked at me, saying, "Wang Jun, did the starlight not reveal any problems?"
I shook my head, feeling somewhat helpless. "No, I don't know what's going on. Could it be that Judge deceived us?"
Feng Ju paused for a moment upon hearing my words and shook his head. "That's impossible. We still have Ghost Child with us; let's wait a bit longer."
I looked at Ghost Child. At that moment, he had his eyes tightly shut, and his face was covered in beads of sweat.
This struck me as odd; it was just sensing the aura of others like him—was it really that intense?
"Wang Jun, I think Ghost Child might be encountering something," Feng Ju said to me.
I was taken aback but immediately walked over to Ghost Child. I reached out and placed my hand on his head. Suddenly, a strange force began to surge within Ghost Child's body.
At that moment, Ghost Child appeared to be in great pain. If I didn't remove this force from him in time, he would surely be in serious trouble.
I quickly extracted the force from Ghost Child. Just as I did so, the force suddenly launched an attack against me.
Feng Ju was momentarily stunned, quickly extending a hand to shield me from the force, which was then dissipated by Feng Ju.
Ghost Child seemed to recover a bit.
"Are you okay?" I asked Ghost Child.
Ghost Child's expression appeared somewhat troubled as they shook their head. After a moment, Ghost Child finally spoke, "I can feel it; the spirit that has replaced my fate is right here."
With that, Ghost Child pointed towards Jin Wangfu, and both Feng Ju and I exchanged glances directed at Jin Wangfu.
"Why is that?" Feng Ju asked in confusion.
I shook my head and replied to Feng Ju, "That spirit must have used something, which is why we can't sense its presence."
After saying this, we walked into Jin Wangfu.
"Do you sense anything?" Feng Ju asked Ghost Child.
Ghost Child paused for a moment before responding, "Not at the moment."
Feng Ju then turned their gaze towards me and said, "Wang Jun, this Jin Wangfu is quite strange."
"What do you mean strange?"
Feng Ju pointed at the Rockery in front of us and said, "Look at this Rockery and the things over there."
Following Feng Ju's finger, I saw that the Rockery and the adjacent flowerbed formed a square formation, which was indeed a formation.
"That's a formation," I told Feng Ju.
"A formation?" Feng Ju exclaimed in surprise.
I looked at Feng Ju and said, "Yes, this formation isn't very advanced; it just makes people run in circles without any significant effect."
After saying that, I stepped into the formation. Feng Ju looked at me with some concern and said, "Wang Jun, be careful. Don't let your guard down."
I nodded at Feng Ju, and just then, the formation suddenly began to spin wildly. In no time, I felt a rush of wind swirling around me.
I closed my eyes, and when I opened them again, everything around me had changed.
"Wang Jun, be careful!" Feng Ju's anxious voice came through again.
At that moment, many ghosts appeared before me, their eyes fixed on me with a predatory gaze.
I watched these ghosts cautiously, as there was something eerie in their expressions.
My heart grew heavy; these ghosts seemed different from those in the Underworld.
Suddenly, the ghosts emitted strange cackling sounds.
Then I felt a chill behind me. Instinctively, I turned around and swiftly eliminated one of the ghosts charging at me.
The other ghosts recoiled in fear at the sight of their companion being destroyed.
I kept my gaze fixed on them when suddenly all the ghosts charged toward me. This made me tense up; if they invaded my body, I would be in serious trouble.
So, I immediately cast a sealing spell on myself. Just as the spell was being established, one of the ghosts on my left lunged at me. As my sealing spell took effect, its energy surged and slammed the ghost down onto the ground.
With a shriek from that ghost, it vanished.
At that moment, Feng Ju also sprang into action and eliminated the remaining ghosts.
"Wang Jun, are you okay?" Feng Ju approached me to check.
I shook my head. Just as I was about to speak, Ghost Child excitedly pointed to another direction. Feng Ju and I turned to look and saw a child appearing around the corner.
The child saw us and immediately ran away.
"Master, that's him! He's the one who took away my destiny," the Ghost Child said to us.
Upon hearing this, Feng Ju and I quickly chased in that direction. The child was incredibly fast, and before long, Feng Ju and I lost sight of him.
I took a deep breath, suddenly feeling something was off; this Jin Wangfu might be an illusion.
At that moment, everything around us transformed into something else.
"Where are we?" Feng Ju's face showed surprise.
The Ghost Child also looked intensely astonished as he flew around, seemingly searching for something.
"It seems like we're at the Hundred Yin Tomb."
All around us were numerous tombs, dozens of them of various sizes.
"Wang Jun, what's going on here? Why do I feel like my celestial powers have vanished?" As Feng Ju spoke, a hint of panic appeared on her face.
I paused for a moment and placed my hand on Feng Ju's head. I sensed a strange aura surrounding her, obstructing her celestial roots.
I furrowed my brow; this peculiar aura felt similar to the one from earlier with the Ghost Child.
Yet it wasn't exactly the same as the Ghost Child's aura, which made it all the more unsettling.
At that moment, the Ghost Child flew over to me and whispered a few words.
"There’s something wrong here."
I was taken aback. Just as I was about to use my celestial powers to investigate, I suddenly froze. It seemed there was a force restraining the celestial powers from both me and Feng Ju.
"What’s wrong, Master?" Ghost Child seemed to notice the seriousness on my face.
I asked Ghost Child, "Can you still use your Ghost Technique?"
Upon hearing my question, Ghost Child paused for a moment before using the Ghost Technique. I was taken aback; why could Ghost Child use the Ghost Technique while Feng Ju and I could not?
"Master, I can use it," Ghost Child said to me.
My brow furrowed even deeper. If that were the case, things would become even more troublesome.
"Feng Ju, we need to be careful," I said to Feng Ju.
Feng Ju also sensed something and nodded in agreement. Just then, the tombs behind us suddenly began to change, releasing a thick cloud of black mist.
Seeing this scene, Ghost Child quickly stepped in front of us and extended a hand to shield us. "Master, you need to be careful."
The expressions on Feng Ju and my faces turned extremely serious. It seemed that the ghost was intent on harming us.
Before long, the black mist produced by the tombs enveloped us completely. Suddenly, everything around us became pitch black, giving a sense that nothing could be seen at all.
