The girl led us to the place that Sister had mentioned.
"Look, it's right here," she said, pointing at a cornfield in front of us. "Masters, see? This is the spot."
Feng Ju and I glanced over, and indeed, the cornfield was thick with a ghostly aura.
"Masters, did you notice anything?" The girl asked curiously as we continued to stare at the cornfield.
"This place definitely has issues, just as your sister said. The ghostly aura here is quite strong," I replied, pointing to the sky above the cornfield.
Upon hearing this, the girl's expression changed. "Then Masters, you shouldn't go in there."
Feng Ju and I couldn't help but laugh. "It's fine, it's just a small matter. You should head back now; Feng Ju and I will take a look around here."
The girl looked at us with concern, her words caught in her throat before she finally left.
Feng Ju and I continued to gaze at the cornfield. By now, it was getting late; as the moonlight grew brighter, the land became even more suffused with a ghostly aura.
"Wang Jun, should we go in and take a look?" Feng Ju asked me.
I glanced up at the sky; it wasn't time yet. Even if we went in, we wouldn't be able to see that ghost child.
"Let's wait a bit longer."
Feng Ju nodded and waited with me. As time passed, the moonlight intensified, and the ghostly aura of the cornfield thickened.
“Feng Ju, it's time for us to act,” I said to Feng Ju.
“Alright,” Feng Ju replied, preparing to enter the Cornfield. I hesitated for a moment and quickly grabbed Feng Ju's arm, feeling a bit helpless.
“Are you really just going to walk in like that?” I asked Feng Ju.
Feng Ju paused for a moment and said, “What's wrong with that?”
“It’s not that it’s wrong, but going in like this will raise suspicions with the Ghost Child, you know?”
“True, I understand now.” With that, Feng Ju transformed into an ordinary person and raised an eyebrow at me. “How about this? Not bad, right?”
I looked at Feng Ju's appearance and nodded. It would work, so I concealed myself beside Feng Ju. This way, we could make the Ghost Child feel threatened.
“Feng Ju, let’s go in. The Ghost Child might already be prepared,” I said to Feng Ju.
Feng Ju nodded and stepped into the Cornfield. As soon as we entered, we sensed an unsettling aura surrounding us.
I quietly told Feng Ju, “It's here.”
Feng Ju's expression turned serious as they cautiously scanned the surroundings. Then they focused their gaze back on me and said, “I understand.”
No sooner had Feng Ju's voice faded than we heard the sounds of babies crying echoing around us.
It came from the left.
I shot a glance at Feng Ju, signaling that the Ghost Child had taken the bait and was already in motion.
After receiving my signal, Feng Ju moved toward the left, and I followed closely behind. With each step we took, the aura around us grew stronger.
Before long, Feng Ju and I found a baby next to a tombstone.
Feng Ju glanced at me and approached the baby on the ground, picking it up. At that moment, I felt a chilling breeze blowing from the nearby Tomb, and we could hear the sound of a baby crying.
“Feng Ju, be careful,” I quietly warned her.
Feng Ju looked around but forgot about the child in her arms.
Suddenly, the baby in Feng Ju's embrace transformed into a cloud of black smoke. In just a few seconds, this dark mist burrowed into Feng Ju's abdomen. She froze for a moment before using her celestial power to turn her belly into a cage.
Once the Ghost Child entered Feng Ju's body, it intended to cause trouble but let out a mournful cry instead. I then saw Feng Ju's stomach rolling uncontrollably.
“Feng Ju, are you okay?” I rushed over, worry filling my eyes.
Feng Ju shook her head and said, “I'm fine. Don't worry. Soon, I'll get this Ghost Child out.”
With that, Feng Ju began channeling the dark energy into her belly, and I watched as her stomach swelled larger and larger.
Suddenly, the Ghost Child inside Feng Ju's belly was expelled by a surge of dark energy, rolling onto the ground. Seizing the moment, I immediately used my celestial energy to subdue the Ghost Child.
Once bound, the Ghost Child let out a furious scream directed at us, while Feng Ju and I watched calmly.
"Wang Jun, how should we deal with this Ghost Child?" Feng Ju asked me.
I replied, "Take it to hell. I remember you have an Evil Spirit down there; just let the Evil Spirit devour it."
"Please, don't do this to me!" the Ghost Child suddenly pleaded with Feng Ju and me.
"Hmph, do you really think you have a choice?" Feng Ju said, looking at the Ghost Child.
"I know I've done many terrible things, but I had my reasons. I had to do it this way to accumulate enough Ghostly Aura. Once I have that, I can find that wicked woman," the Ghost Child said, a sinister glint in its eyes.
"What wicked woman?" I asked, puzzled by the Ghost Child's words.
"Wang Jun, don't be fooled by him," Feng Ju warned me.
"I'm not deceiving you; I wouldn't dare. Please give me a chance. Once I've avenged myself, I'll submit to whatever you decide," the Ghost Child pleaded earnestly.
Feng Ju fell silent, her expression inscrutable. The Ghost Child then turned its gaze toward me.
"Speak up; I'll give you one chance," I said to the Ghost Child.
Upon hearing "Ghost Child," his face lit up with joy, and he immediately bowed to me several times. I watched him calmly while Feng Ju looked as if he wanted to say something but hesitated. I turned to Feng Ju and said, "Give him a chance."
Feng Ju nodded in agreement.
Then Ghost Child began to speak to me, "I wasn't always like this. I had the chance to be reborn, but three times it was ruined by the same woman."
His words piqued the curiosity of both me and Feng Ju, prompting us to ask Ghost Child how that happened.
Suddenly, Ghost Child's expression fell, and he looked distressed as he began to tell us his story.
His mother was a woman who made a living selling herself. His birth was merely a gamble for her, and his biological father was a notorious playboy who came to take care of his mother's business.
His mother believed that this playboy genuinely loved her, but what she didn't realize was that he was just playing with her feelings.
Even after discovering the truth, she continued to secretly get pregnant. However, for some unknown reason, each time she became pregnant shortly after, she would suffer a miscarriage, which is why he ended up like this.
Upon hearing Ghost Child's story, I found it strange; it seemed impossible.
How could all her chances be tied to one woman?
I turned to Feng Ju, who also looked stunned. His eyes were filled with doubt as he asked Ghost Child, "Is what you're saying true?"
Ghost Child nodded, showing no signs of deception in his eyes, which only deepened Feng Ju's confusion. Looking at Feng Ju, I asked him, "Is it possible that something went wrong in your dealings with the Underworld?"
Upon hearing my words, Feng Ju seemed to recall something and said to me, "Wang Jun, now that you mention it, I think I remember something. Just a moment."
After a while, I saw a multitude of mirrors appear before us.
"What is this?" I asked Feng Ju in confusion.
Feng Ju replied, "This is the Yin-Yang Mirror from the Underworld. It can help us look into the matter of the Ghost Child."
Upon hearing this, my curiosity grew even stronger, so I urged Feng Ju to check it out quickly.
Feng Ju nodded and turned to the Ghost Child. "Give me your name and your Birth Date and Time. The first one should be the day you died."
The Ghost Child nodded in response to Feng Ju's request and provided the information. After receiving it, Feng Ju began searching for the Ghost Child's details in the Yin-Yang Mirror.
Time passed, yet Feng Ju still had no results, which made me anxious. I urged Feng Ju again, and she turned back to me, saying, "I find it strange; there’s no information about them in the Yin-Yang Mirror."
Hearing this, I looked at the Ghost Child. "Did you perhaps make a mistake?"
The Ghost Child shook their head at my question and replied, "No, everything I said is correct."
At that moment, Feng Ju also heard what the Ghost Child said and nodded before continuing her search. I kept watching Feng Ju; it seemed that many things in this Yin-Yang Mirror were quite difficult to find.
