I pondered for a moment, then looked at the others and said, "They haven't lost their souls; rather, their consciousness has been sealed. Before we arrived, the Yin Qi here was very heavy, almost covering the entire human realm. It's equivalent to a second Underworld."
Ruoxi and Captain Wu nodded upon hearing my words and asked what we should do next.
I stepped forward, helped them up, and placed my hand on their foreheads, channeling my vital energy into their bodies to stimulate their consciousness to awaken.
After a while, they still showed no signs of movement.
"Wang Jun, this isn't working," Ruoxi said with some concern.
"Don't worry, just a little more," I replied to Ruoxi.
Then, I put in considerable effort, continuing to send my vital energy into their bodies. Soon after, I felt a cold aura emanating from them, directly entering my own body. This aura seemed to resonate well with my Divine Power.
In an instant, I felt as if my body was filled with energy, and suddenly, they opened their eyes.
Seeing them awaken filled me with joy and boosted my confidence.
"Who are you? How did we end up here?" they looked at us in confusion.
For a moment, we were at a loss for how to explain. Captain Wu gave me a knowing glance, signaling that we should step outside.
Taking advantage of their distraction, we slipped out. Now that we knew how to awaken these people, the process of doing so one by one felt too slow.
I thought of a plan and stood in the middle of the road while Captain Wu and Ruoxi looked at me in confusion.
I summoned the Divine Dragon. At that moment, the Divine Dragon soared into the air and lifted me off the ground. I released my vital energy all at once; in an instant, it filled the entire sky. Then I saw thick black mist rising from outside the houses.
This black mist all entered my body. Using my Divine Power, I transformed it into energy beneficial to me.
After the black mist dissipated, I saw a sky full of colors, a sign that these people had come back to life.
After a while, I noticed people walking out of their homes, their expressions seemingly dazed, unsure of what had happened.
Seeing that everything had been resolved, I put away the dragon and descended. Ruoxi looked at me with admiration and said, "Wang Jun, you are truly amazing."
Her words made my heart soar with pride, and I smiled shyly while scratching my head. At that moment, I noticed Captain Wu's expression was somewhat grim. Curious, I asked him what was wrong.
"Little brother, I feel that something is off. The order of the human world has not yet been restored, and the constraints between the human world and the Underworld are gone. This is not good; it could lead to major trouble. The spirits in the Underworld will be unrestrained and could run amok in the human world. If that happens, chaos will ensue," Captain Wu said.
His words sent a shiver down my spine. He was right; the systems in the human world were still absent. To restore balance between the human world and the Underworld, we needed to go to the Heavenly Temple and reverse the imbalance.
This was something I knew from my memories of my past life as the King of the Earth.
I shared this with Captain Wu and Ruoxi, and upon hearing it, their faces showed concern.
"Wang Jun, although the Heavenly God has been destroyed by your poison oath, it will still be difficult for us to ascend to the Heavenly Temple. Not only will we face barriers from the celestial realm, but our presence will also encounter strong resistance from the heavenly aura," Ruoxi explained.
"What should we do? We can't just watch as chaos unfolds between the human world and the Underworld. Besides, who needs that damned heavenly realm anyway?" Captain Wu said angrily.
Seeing his frustration made me want to laugh. I quickly reassured him, "Alright, don't be angry; it doesn't matter. It's just a Heavenly Temple. Now that those heavenly gods are gone, it might actually be a good thing for us."
Captain Wu nodded helplessly at my words and said, "Only you can comfort yourself like this."
With that, we immediately got up and headed towards the path leading to the celestial realm.
This is a path to the heavens.
I looked at the Stone Steps that led straight up into the sky, feeling a surge of excitement; this was my first time going to the heavens.
Captain Wu glanced at me, momentarily taken aback, and said, "Little brother, what's with that expression? You seem quite excited."
I cleared my throat and replied, "It's nothing. Let's go."
I took my first step onto the Stone Steps, and Ruoxi and Captain Wu followed closely behind.
I wondered how long it would take to reach the end of these Stone Steps.
As I gazed at the seemingly endless journey ahead, a wave of discouragement washed over me.
"Wang Jun, I feel like there's something off about these Stone Steps," Ruoxi spoke up after a while.
"What's wrong?" I asked, looking at Ruoxi in confusion.
Ruoxi pointed ahead at the Stone Steps. "Look, we've been walking for a while now, yet we haven't reached the clouds. This means that with every step we take, these Stone Steps are quietly adding a few more steps."
Her words caught the attention of both me and Captain Wu. I glanced at the Stone Steps, and it seemed that Ruoxi was right; we were just walking in place.
"What’s going on?" Captain Wu asked in bewilderment.
I shook my head. Just then, Ruoxi stepped forward and unleashed a beam of light. In an instant, both Captain Wu and I saw our surroundings change.
We had arrived in the heavenly realm.
"Oh my God, were we just walking on the Ghost Wall?" Captain Wu exclaimed in astonishment.
"Not the Ghost Wall, but the Heavenly Mist," Ruoxi explained to us.
"Heavenly Mist?" I looked at Ruoxi in confusion.
Ruoxi nodded and pointed to the mist floating in front of us. "You see, this is the Heavenly Mist. It is the first protective barrier of the Celestial Realm. Although the gods no longer exist, everything in the heavens still follows the rules. Now that we are above the Celestial Realm, I hope everyone remains cautious."
I nodded to Captain Wu, acknowledging her words.
The Celestial Realm was indeed magnificent. In front of us stood two towering pillars, thick and tall, with two golden dragons spiraling around them.
"Little brother, do you think those golden dragons are real or fake?" Captain Wu asked curiously.
I shook my head. Ruoxi turned to Captain Wu and said, "They are real. Captain Wu can give it a try. If you can subdue a golden dragon, it would be quite an achievement."
Upon hearing Ruoxi's words, Captain Wu's interest was piqued. "Then I'll give it a shot! If I manage to subdue one, I could have a dragon protecting me just like you, little brother."
Ruoxi and I laughed at Captain Wu, but he seemed unfazed as he walked over to the pillar.
"Ruoxi, do you think Captain Wu will be alright?" I asked, though I was still worried about him despite our laughter.
"He should be fine. With Captain Wu's current qualifications, he should be able to handle a golden dragon," Ruoxi replied.
I thought for a moment and asked Ruoxi, "Is a golden dragon the same as a giant dragon?"
Ruoxi shook her head. "No, they are different. Dragons are ranked by their strength; giant dragons are much more powerful than golden dragons."
Hearing this made me chuckle; if that were the case, wouldn't Captain Wu be wasting his efforts?
At that moment, Captain Wu was already standing next to one of the pillars, cautiously observing them. I noticed subtle changes occurring around the pillars.
The golden dragons on the pillars had clearly shifted positions.
“Captain Wu, you need to be careful!” I shouted, trying to warn him.
It seemed like Captain Wu didn’t hear me at all; he remained standing in place. I hesitated for a moment, preparing to step forward to remind him when Ruoxi stopped me. “Wang Jun, don’t go up there. Captain Wu is separated by Heavenly Mist. Unless he can unlock the golden dragons on the two pillars, he will remain trapped inside.”
Ruoxi’s words surprised me, and my heart sank as I hoped that Captain Wu would be alright.
At that moment, two golden dragons flew out from the pillars and charged directly at Captain Wu.
These were two golden dragons.
I wondered if Captain Wu could handle them.
Captain Wu was startled by the situation, but his reflexes were incredibly quick; he dodged the dragons' attack effortlessly.
The two golden dragons reacted swiftly as well. Seeing Captain Wu bend down, one of them immediately changed its approach and continued to assault him while the other launched a sneak attack from behind.
My heart raced with anxiety. Captain Wu seemed to be struggling now, having to deal with the dragon in front while also keeping an eye on the one behind him.
