Just as I was pondering, Ruoxi's voice came through, "Wang Jun."
I paused for a moment, then quickly echoed back. I saw Ruoxi sitting on the floor, her small face showing signs of pain.
"Ruoxi, are you okay?" I rushed over and picked her up anxiously.
Ruoxi shook her head, breaking free from my embrace. She looked around and said, "Wang Jun, what we need to do now is restore the vitality here and find Captain Wu."
I nodded in agreement and suggested to Ruoxi that we should first go to the Underworld to find Captain Wu. That way, we would have an extra ally.
We arrived at the intersection between the human realm and the Underworld. It was impossible to go directly into the Underworld because, during the upheaval in the three realms, the connecting passage had been sealed off.
At the intersection, both Ruoxi and I were taken aback by the scene before us.
The ground was littered with eerie white bones, and it was desolate with heavy shadows looming everywhere.
"It seems this place has experienced a lot of significant events. Wang Jun, it looks like your spell won't change this place overnight," Ruoxi said to me.
I nodded; it seemed something had indeed happened here. The white bones on the ground and the shadows were all Yin Soldiers from the Underworld. They appeared to have been fighting against something, but their opponent's power was overwhelming, leading to their annihilation.
"Yes, Ruoxi, look over there; that's the entrance to the passage." I pointed to a spot on the left where bones were piled high.
As Ruoxi and I approached, we noticed a strange talisman stuck among the bones.
Just as Ruoxi was about to take it down, I immediately stopped her. "Don't touch that talisman; there's something wrong with it."
Ruoxi looked at me in surprise. "Wang Jun, I've scanned this talisman with Divine Power; it seems fine."
I shook my head and used Divine Power to turn some nearby bones into powder, then waved it toward the talisman. To my astonishment, before the powder touched the talisman, it transformed into smoke.
Ruoxi's eyes widened in disbelief as she stared at me. I wasn't particularly surprised; this talisman was a Forbidden Talisman.
It was formed from all the resentment gathered in these three realms, creating a corresponding reaction that manifested as this spell, sealing off the path to the Underworld.
In fact, when Ruoxi and I first returned to the human realm, I sensed that the lack of vitality here was due to Yin Qi occupying everything.
To drive away all the Yin Qi from this realm, there was only one way: open the gates of the Underworld and use my identity as King of Hell to summon these Yin Qi back to the Underworld.
As long as we do this, the Popularity in the human realm will automatically return.
I planned to share this with Ruoxi. She nodded in agreement with my idea. To destroy the talisman on the corpse, we needed to use the most potent Divine Power to strike it.
Fortunately, I possessed this kind of Divine Power. I immediately stood in front of the talisman while Ruoxi took a step back. I began to slowly channel the Divine Power from within my body.
In just a moment, I felt a warm Gas filling me up. The temperature of this Gas kept rising. I remained calm inside; after all, it was crucial to stay composed during this process. If I panicked, everything would descend into chaos.
As the Divine Power within me reached a peak, I was about to unleash it when I sensed a resistance. It felt as if something was blocking me from all sides.
A look of pain immediately crossed my face. Standing beside me, Ruoxi seemed to notice the slight change in my expression and quickly connected with me mentally, asking what was wrong.
I replied to Ruoxi, saying that there seemed to be something obstructing me.
Upon hearing my words, Ruoxi's expression changed instantly. She cautiously scanned our surroundings as if searching for something. Before long, I noticed her gaze fixating on me, slowly moving downwards until it landed on my feet.
My heart skipped a beat. Could there be something on my feet that I was unaware of?
If that were the case, my situation would be extremely dangerous. This thing had managed to evade both my and Ruoxi's Divine Power, boldly approaching me. Its energy must be significant.
In the next moment, I received a message from Ruoxi: "Wang Jun, there is something beneath your feet—it's a Demon Eagle."
I was taken aback. A Demon Eagle? What was that?
Ruoxi continued to explain that this Demon Eagle was born during the destruction of the three realms. We were no longer in the three realms but rather on its territory. Subduing them would be quite challenging. If we killed this Demon Eagle, it would cause trouble because they shared a psychic bond. If we were to slay this one, other Demon Eagles would come after us, and we might face significant difficulties when dealing with them.
Hearing Ruoxi's thoughts made my heart heavy with concern. Just then, an unexpected change occurred beneath my feet.
I watched as strands of black mist slowly emerged from below, gradually forming into a dark shape.
Its appearance was strange, resembling a football. Its eyes were bulging, and its mouth was exaggerated, while its legs looked incredibly thin, like toothpicks.
It glared at me with a fierce look, sending a shiver down my spine. Could this be the Demon Eagle that Ruoxi mentioned?
Sure enough, Ruoxi's voice came through, and I felt another chill. I hadn't expected the Demon Eagle to look so bizarre.
The Demon Eagle emitted a series of irritating screeches that grated on my nerves.
In no time, unease settled in my heart. I felt anxious; could this sound disrupt my Divine Power?
At that moment, I didn't know what was happening to me. My body felt chaotic, as if different gases were colliding within me, making me extremely uncomfortable.
Ruoxi noticed the expression on my face and grew anxious. She once again used her Divine Power to communicate with me. I heard her voice urging me not to panic and to calm down slowly. As long as I remained calm, the Demon Eagle wouldn't be able to do anything to me.
I gradually used my Divine Power to suppress the agitation within me. Before long, my body returned to normal. At that moment, the dragon inside me suddenly flew out uncontrollably, majestically soaring in the sky.
The roar of the dragon finally reached the ears of the Demon Eagle. In an instant, I saw the Demon Eagle's expression turn agonized, as if it were suffering greatly. My heart raced with excitement, but at the same time, I was worried it might attract more Demon Eagles.
However, my worries came too late; I soon felt vibrations beneath my feet.
"Oh no," Ruoxi's voice came through, causing my heart to skip a beat. I knew what her words meant: the swarm of Demon Eagles was coming.
Sure enough, I saw a horde of Demon Eagles charging toward us with great momentum. Ruoxi looked anxious at this sight and asked what was wrong.
I wasn't worried; based on what had just happened, the dragon should be the nemesis of these Demon Eagles.
Seeing so many Demon Eagles only excited the dragon further; its roar echoed throughout the sky.
The Demon Eagle beneath me seemed to be growing larger for some reason, as if it were about to explode at any moment.
Suddenly, I felt a cool sensation beneath my feet. Looking down, I saw that the Demon Eagle was deflating rapidly. Within moments, it had turned into a piece of paper.
Immediately, I used my Divine Power to incinerate the Demon Eagle. This was done as a precaution against future troubles.
"Wang Jun," Ruoxi approached me and stood protectively beside Owei. "I'll handle this here; you focus on removing the talismans from the bones."
I nodded without hesitation, focusing my energy on activating the talisman. I wasn't worried about Ruoxi being in any danger, as the dragon's presence made her much safer. Just as I was about to take down the talisman, the dragon suddenly swooped down from the sky, charging directly at the Demon Eagles.
Before long, I heard the sounds of despair and wailing.
A surge of joy filled my heart; it was the Demon Eagles being defeated. My excitement grew even more as I intensified my efforts to break the talisman.
