"Yin-Yang Duality," Xiaomei explained, "is no joke. The cold and heat can lead to self-destruction. The path we just traversed is the Extreme Yin Path, and we've absorbed its chill. If we step onto the Extreme Yang Path now, our bodies will swell with heat and might even explode. We would be in serious trouble."
A heavy weight settled in my heart as I gazed at the Extreme Yang Path before us, feeling conflicted and hesitant.
"Wait a moment, Wang," Xiaomei suddenly said to me.
I looked at her in confusion, wondering if she had a plan.
I decided to heed her words and waited at the edge. Suddenly, flames erupted from both sides of the Extreme Yang Path, engulfing the road in an instant.
I was taken aback and silently grateful that I had listened to Xiaomei; otherwise, we would have become Fire Men.
The flames continued to roar, shooting towards the walls on either side, creating a terrifying spectacle.
Time dragged on until Xiaomei and I grew impatient, and finally, the flames subsided.
"Wang, we can go now," Xiaomei said to me.
I looked at her skeptically. "Didn’t you say we carry the essence of Extreme Yin? If we cross over, won’t we be in trouble?"
Xiaomei smiled at me. "Yes, but just before this, the Extreme Yang Path exhausted all its energy. The road before us is actually quite simple; we can walk straight through it. Trust me."
I nodded, feeling a weight lift off my chest as I stepped onto the path. With each step, I sensed Ruoxi's presence growing stronger within me.
"Wang, listen," Xiaomei said.
I was momentarily stunned when a voice suddenly reached my ears, resembling the weeping of a woman. To my shock, it was Ruoxi's cry. Could something have happened to her?
"We need to hurry," I said, my heart racing as I quickened my pace. Anxiety tightened within me.
"Wang, is something wrong with the Princess?" Xiaomei seemed to sense my unease.
"It shouldn't be," I replied, maintaining a calm facade even though my mind was in turmoil.
Unbeknownst to me, Ruoxi had begun to hold an increasingly significant place in my heart.
We moved quickly, and before long, a massive Lotus Throne appeared before us.
"Wang, look! Is that the Princess?" Xiaomei exclaimed excitedly.
I turned my gaze toward the lotus and saw Ruoxi's spirit standing within the Lotus Throne. My heart tightened instantly, and I rushed toward it. Just as I was about to grasp Ruoxi's soul, a surge of power erupted from the Lotus Throne, sending me crashing back to the ground.
Xiaomei hurried over to me, anxiously asking, "Are you okay?"
I shook my head, my eyes fixed on the Lotus Throne. There was something off about it.
"If we want to rescue Ruoxi, we must destroy this Lotus Throne. There seems to be a continuous source of power circulating beneath it. We need to find that source and attack it directly with Divine Power," I explained to Xiaomei.
"Understood, Wang," Xiaomei replied. We split into two paths and began searching the Lotus Throne for any clues.
However, there seemed to be nothing on the Lotus Throne, which left me feeling quite disappointed. At that moment, Xiaomei excitedly called out, "My lord, come quickly! I have a new discovery!"
I immediately walked over to Xiaomei's side and followed her pointing finger. There, at the base of the Lotus Throne, I saw a black symbol appear. I was taken aback; could this black symbol be the source of power?
"Let's give it a try," I said to Xiaomei.
"Okay!"
Together with Xiaomei, we unleashed our Divine Power against the Lotus Throne. In an instant, we were struck by a tremendous force that sent us crashing to the ground.
"My lord, are you alright?" Xiaomei rushed over to me.
I shook my head to indicate that I was fine. Just then, I heard faint sounds nearby, as if something was about to crack open.
Listening closely, I noticed cracks forming on the Lotus Throne. A surge of joy filled me as I launched another attack at the crack.
In an instant, the Lotus Throne exploded, and at that moment, Ruoxi's soul floated down. I hurried forward and caught Ruoxi's soul in my hands.
Xiaomei came closer and looked at Ruoxi's soul with a face full of surprise. "My lord, the princess's soul is still intact!"
I nodded and picked up Ruoxi's body, placing her soul inside. Immediately, Ruoxi's body emitted a radiant light.
"My lord, now that we have obtained the princess's soul, let's leave this place," Xiaomei suggested as she glanced around.
"Good."
As we were preparing to leave, suddenly, chaos erupted around us.
"Your Majesty, it's bad! It seems like this place is about to collapse!" Xiaomei said anxiously.
"Someone is using spiritual power to push it towards us," I replied, furrowing my brow at Xiaomei.
As soon as I spoke, the shaking around us intensified.
I immediately ran outside with Xiaomei, but to our surprise, the entrance was blocked for some unknown reason just as we were about to escape.
"Your Majesty, it seems to be the people from Chen Residence," Xiaomei said.
My expression turned serious. The people from Chen Residence were indeed not as simple as Feng Ju had said.
"Don't worry, I'll handle this," I told Xiaomei.
With that, I summoned the Giant Dragon, which instantly broke through the force blocking the entrance.
Taking advantage of the opening, Xiaomei and I rushed out, only to find ourselves face-to-face with the people from Chen Residence.
"You two, what are you doing trespassing in my estate at this late hour? This doesn't seem appropriate," the Leader said, who was none other than the steward. His expression had changed dramatically.
"Oh, you people from Chen Residence are truly impressive. You imprison my wife's soul here and still deceive us," I said.
The butler paused for a moment after hearing my words, his expression momentarily flustered, but he quickly regained his calm demeanor.
"Since you already know, there's no need for me to continue lying. I assume you have obtained the soul. Here’s the deal: as long as you join us in dealing with the Wang residence, we at Chen Residence will not pursue this matter further. What do you say?" The butler put on a facade of goodwill.
I looked at the butler with a cold smile. "You at Chen Residence are thinking too highly of yourselves. Do you really think we are that valuable? Let me tell you, that's not happening."
Upon hearing my words, the butler's face changed dramatically. He said to me, "Fine, since you refuse to see reason, don’t blame us at Chen Residence for being rude."
With that, the butler commanded those behind him to attack us. Xiaomei and I were not afraid; the power of these people was not strong.
"Strange, where are Dumeng Princess and Feng Ju?" Xiaomei said while fighting.
A chill ran through my heart. I hoped nothing had happened to them.
I maintained my composure and replied, "It's fine; they must have gone somewhere else. There's no need to worry."
Just as I finished speaking, an elder appeared with a group of people, among whom were Feng Ju and Dumeng Princess.
"Stop!" The elder's voice rang out, and upon hearing it, we all ceased our actions.
The elder looked at me and said, "Young brother, since you have obtained your wife's soul, our matters can be considered even. How about this: if you help us attack the Wang residence, whatever you want from Chen Residence will be granted."
I fell silent as I listened to the elder's words. He gazed at me intently, a glimmer of cunning in his eyes as he continued, "We were indeed in the wrong before, but it was unavoidable. The Wang residence has always been ruthless and arrogant; our people at Chen Residence are under great pressure. Therefore, we seek your assistance."
I lifted my gaze to the old man. His face was sincere, but I remained unmoved by his earnestness.
"What do you think?" the old man asked, looking at me.
"Since we're supposed to cooperate, why did you capture my people?" I replied, addressing him directly.
The old man glanced back at Dumeng Princess and Feng Ju, then suddenly burst into laughter. "Ha ha, this is all a misunderstanding."
After saying that, he instructed someone to untie Dudu Min, the Princess, and Feng Ju.
"Is it alright now?" he asked.
I looked at the old man and then slowly shifted my gaze to Feng Ju. She gave me a knowing look, and I understood.
"Yes, you can tell me how we will cooperate," I agreed without hesitation.
The old man was taken aback for a moment, probably startled by my straightforwardness. He looked at me with uncertainty and said, "You agreed?"
I nodded, and the old man signaled for everyone to step back. "Since you've already agreed, I won't say anything more. Let's consider this matter settled as a transaction. What do you think?"
