I am not worried about dying at the hands of Luan Yuan. I am betting that he wouldn’t dare to act against me, especially since he has seen the attitude of the Tree Sage towards me.
Seeing my expressionless face, Luan Yuan's demeanor shifted as he sneered, "Having the protection of the Tree Sage makes a difference, doesn’t it? Now you’re feeling bold."
In response to Luan Yuan's cold mockery, I felt little agitation within. I calmly looked at him and said, "Bird King, it seems that your anger should be directed elsewhere. You should be confronting the Flower Tribe instead of me. After all, it was members of the Flower Tribe who killed your two sons. Why take your frustration out on me?"
"Hello, very well, little brother. Are you implying that you want to oppose me?" Luan Yuan glared at me, his eyes filled with menace.
I was not afraid and replied, "That’s not my intention at all; it seems you’ve misunderstood, Bird King. I believe we can cooperate."
Upon hearing my words, Luan Yuan let out a cold snort. "Cooperate? Little brother, do you really think we can still work together? You have already broken into my family’s Tomb and taken the Yin Pearl from the Yin Hoko. With that alone, our cooperation is impossible."
I gazed deeply at Luan Yuan, unconcerned by his words. If there were no possibility of cooperation, why would he keep me here for such a long time? He could have simply attacked me directly.
I shifted my gaze elsewhere and said, "Is that so? But Bird King must be facing immense pressure now. With your two sons dead, other tribes see the Bird Tribe as an easy target. Many will be eyeing the Bird Tribe's territory; uniting against you to annihilate the Bird Tribe would be quite simple."
Luan Yuan's face turned pale at once. He looked at me with a complex expression but remained silent.
Sensing that the moment had arrived, I turned back to him and said, "I truly believe that taking the Yin Pearl from you is wrong. Before this, Luanling had treated me well. However, I will remember this kindness. If your Bird Tribe encounters trouble or needs my help, I will assist you. But if you set your sights on me or the Beast Clan, don’t blame me for being ruthless."
I stared coldly at Luan Yuan and exuded an aura that seemed to shock him.
Luan Yuan lowered his gaze to the ground; I knew he was weighing my words. After a moment, he raised his eyes to look at me and asked, "Are you speaking the truth?"
I nodded. Seeing Luan Yuan still wearing a conflicted expression, I decided to leave the room and returned to where the Beast Clan resided.
As soon as I entered the Beast Tribe, I saw Dumeng Princess rushing towards me with a worried expression. She looked me over and asked, "Are you okay? That old man didn't do anything to you, did he?"
Seeing her anxious demeanor made me chuckle lightly. "I'm fine, don't worry."
Upon hearing my reassurance, the tension on Dumeng Princess's face gradually eased.
"What did you talk about with that old man? Why did you two take so long?" Dumeng Princess asked curiously.
I recounted everything that had transpired during my conversation with Luan Yuan to Luanling. To my surprise, Luanling became agitated again after hearing it all.
"Are you crazy for agreeing to help the Bird Tribe? What if they ask us to kill other tribes? Would you help then?"
I smiled at Dumeng Princess's worried expression and said, "It won't come to that; it's not that serious. Anyway, where's your father? I haven't seen him around."
I looked around curiously; there wasn't a soul in sight, which was unusual compared to how things usually were.
"My father is still at the Spirit Martial Conference. The other tribes have returned to the venue as well; they are continuing the competition. The Spirit Martial Conference won't just end midway; a result has to be determined," Dumeng Princess explained.
"Let's go take a look," I suggested to Dumeng Princess.
She paused for a moment and said, "Do we really need to go? But Tree Sage gave me this thing and told me to give it to you."
Dumeng Princess pulled out a Purple Feather. I was taken aback; this feather felt strangely familiar.
"This is what Tree Sage gave me," I said uncertainly as I looked at Dumeng Princess. I truly had no idea what Tree Sage intended for me to do with this feather.
"Dumeng Princess" nodded and said, "Yes, the Tree Sage said you would know."
After saying that, "Dumeng Princess" walked towards the door. I hesitated for a moment and called out to her, asking where she was going.
"Dumeng Princess" turned back to me and said, "I’m going to see my father. After all, I am a member of the Beast Clan, so I naturally have to take the stage."
Hearing that "Dumeng Princess" was going to take the stage, I froze for a moment. "You’re going on stage?" I looked at her nervously.
"Dumeng Princess" nodded and continued walking forward. I quickly stepped in front of her and said, "Duchess, no! What if you can’t measure up to others?"
"Dumeng Princess" paused and looked at me. After a moment, her expression became serious as she said, "Were you just worried about my safety? Are you not at ease?"
I looked at "Dumeng Princess," feeling a mix of emotions inside me, unsure how to express them. I was indeed worried about her, but it was merely out of concern between friends.
"Come on, just say it. Are you worried about me?" "Dumeng Princess" urged anxiously.
Seeing her anxious expression stirred something strange within me, and I eventually nodded.
"Dumeng Princess" was very pleased and said, "Just hearing that from you is enough."
"Wait a moment," I said as she turned to leave. I took out the Paper Man and a bottle of liquid.
"What is this?" "Dumeng Princess" asked, looking at me with confusion.
I laid the Paper Man down one by one and poured the liquid from the bottle all over them. In just a moment, I saw wisps of white smoke rising from the Paper Man's body.
"What’s happening? Why do I feel spiritual energy coming from the Paper Man? What is this?" "Dumeng Princess" exclaimed, her eyes widening in surprise.
"This was given to me by the shaman. Now, I pass it on to you, hoping it will protect you. I don't want you to get hurt," I said.
At that moment, the Paper Man lying on the ground came to life.
"They're truly amazing," the Dumeng Princess said in astonishment.
I nodded and addressed the newly animated Paper Men, "You must protect the Dumeng Princess, understand? Don't let anyone harm her."
Upon hearing my words, the Paper Men nodded and immediately bent down over the Dumeng Princess.
"Where did they go?" the Dumeng Princess asked curiously.
"They've entered your body, Duchess. Don't underestimate these Paper Men; they are the shaman's secret weapon. Now that I've entrusted this power to you, you must take good care of it and not let me down," I said, feigning a serious expression.
The Dumeng Princess couldn't help but laugh and repeatedly agreed.
I nodded, and she left.
I watched her retreating figure for a moment before turning my attention to the Purple Feather in my hand.
Why did the Tree Sage give me this feather? It's quite strange.
Just then, the feather in my hand suddenly reacted, emitting a blinding light. Instinctively, I closed my eyes; the light was too bright and very dazzling.
Soon after, I felt a cool sensation sweeping over my entire body.
In an instant, I felt the entire space shift. When I opened my eyes, I realized I was in the water prison that the Tree Sage had mentioned before.
I looked around and saw small pools everywhere, but there were no signs of a prison, nor could I see any members of the Flower Tribe.
It was truly strange.
Just then, I heard the voice of the Tree Sage coming from behind me. I quickly turned around and saw the Tree Sage looking at me with a kind expression.
I called out to the Tree Sage and picked up the purple feather in my hand, about to ask why I had been brought here.
The Tree Sage smiled and stroked his beard, saying, "I brought you here to help you."
I was taken aback, looking at the Tree Sage with confusion. "Help me? What do you mean?"
The Tree Sage stepped closer and spoke in a very friendly tone. "I know you came here because of certain matters related to the heavens, right?"
His words left me completely stunned. How did the Tree Sage know about matters concerning the heavens?
Seeing my bewildered expression, the Tree Sage chuckled and said, "I know many things. Would you like to listen carefully?"
I understood what he meant in his gaze and immediately nodded. "Yes, please tell me, Tree Sage. I will listen attentively."
The Tree Sage nodded in satisfaction and said, "I know why you want me to keep the Flower Tribe safe; it's because of Ruoxi."
My mind suddenly lit up. I never expected that the Tree Sage would know about Ruoxi.
"You know Ruoxi?"
"Yes, speaking of that girl, I actually had some acquaintance with her. Since she’s in trouble, I naturally want to help. Aren't you looking to get your hands on the Yin Pearls from various places?"
I was taken aback, my eyes widening in surprise. I didn't expect the Tree Sage to be so capable, knowing that I was after the Yin Pearls.
"Really? Could it be..." My heart raced with astonishment.
The Tree Sage nodded, confirming my thoughts. He then placed his hand in front of me, and after a moment of anticipation, I saw eight pearls of different colors.
My excitement grew as I exclaimed to the Tree Sage, "These are the Yin Pearls!"
The Tree Sage smiled and nodded. My heart surged with excitement; I had thought it would be difficult to obtain the remaining Yin Pearls, yet here was the Tree Sage gathering them all together for me.
"Tree Sage, you’re amazing! I can’t believe you managed to get a whole box of Yin Pearls!" I said excitedly.
Suddenly, the Tree Sage's gaze shifted slightly, and I noticed a change in his expression. I spoke up directly, "Tree Sage, do you need my help with something? Since you've already done me such a big favor, it’s only right that I help you in return. Just tell me what it is; if it's within my ability, I'll definitely do it."
Hearing my words, the Tree Sage nodded in satisfaction. "I knew you were a good kid. I do have something I need your help with, but it's not primarily about you."
I was puzzled and didn’t quite understand what the Tree Sage meant.
"Tree Sage, please just say it directly."
"Do you remember when I mentioned that you are the Spirit King of this world?" The Tree Sage paused here and didn’t continue.
I responded with a slight acknowledgment. Was the Tree Sage asking me to stay?
But that seemed impossible; after all, Ruoxi and Captain Wu were still waiting for me back in the human realm.
"I know what you're thinking. However, it's not about you; it's about your child with Ruoxi," the Tree Sage said.
"My child with Ruoxi?" His words startled me. How could Ruoxi and I have a child? Besides, we hadn’t even been intimate.
The Tree Sage suddenly stepped closer to me and waved his hand in mid-air. Before my eyes appeared a colorful cloud.
I looked at it and then turned my gaze back to the Tree Sage. "Tree Sage, what do you want me to do with this?"
The Tree Sage shook his head and said, "No, it's to let you see clearly. You and Ruoxi have already formed a Millennium Bond long ago. Throughout these thousands of years, you have done what you were meant to do. The essence within you has long been left in Ruoxi's body. As long as there is a suitable opportunity, this bond will sprout. You should know what this means, right?"
