"Uncle Tiger said that this skeleton is useless. Even if we bring it back, it won't be able to revive the female ghost." 0

Captain Wu and I were instantly stunned. Had all our previous efforts been in vain? More importantly, if the female ghost couldn't be revived, Captain Wu might be in danger. 0

I hurriedly asked Uncle Tiger what we should do. 0

After a moment of contemplation, Uncle Tiger suggested that we should find a recently deceased body, and its birth date and time must match that of the female ghost. Only then could she be revived. 0

This seemed like quite a challenge. However, since we had already signed a Ghost Contract with her, we had to proceed. 0

After asking the female ghost for her birth date and time, Captain Wu and I headed to the hospital, as only there could we find the dead. 0

We spent the entire morning without any leads. Just then, a woman who had been in a car accident was wheeled in, covered in blood. 0

Captain Wu and I immediately stopped in our tracks and sat outside waiting. After a while, we noticed that no family members had arrived, which struck us as odd. Was the woman an orphan? 0

At that moment, a nurse walked by, and I stopped her to inquire about the woman's condition. Initially reluctant to share any information, she only opened up when Captain Wu approached her and asked about it. The nurse then informed us that the woman had grown up in an orphanage. 0

Captain Wu and I exchanged glances and continued to wait. 0

By evening, the lights in the Emergency Room went out, and a doctor emerged looking dejected. 0

My heart sank. Did that mean the woman couldn't be saved? I asked the doctor about her condition, only to see his expression grow even more sorrowful. He confirmed that the woman had died; they couldn't revive her. 0

I exchanged a look with Captain Wu, who immediately understood. He pulled out his police badge again and explained our situation to the doctor. 0

The doctor hesitated, stating he needed to consult with the director before providing us with any answers. 0

We had no choice but to wait for The Institution's response. However, after a long time with no reply, my irritation began to rise. Were they just going to leave us hanging here? 0

"Little brother, let's go. We're not waiting any longer; let's head straight to the Morgue and retrieve the body," Captain Wu said to me. 0

I happened to have the same idea and followed Captain Wu to the hospital's Morgue, which was located on the basement floor, very close to the back door. 0

As soon as we descended to the basement, we spotted the doctor from before along with a man dressed in a suit. 0

"What are they doing?" Captain Wu asked curiously. 0

I noticed the two of them sneaking toward the Morgue's entrance. I frowned; surely this doctor wasn't planning to take away the body of the recently deceased woman. 0

After they entered, Captain Wu and I followed them inside, only to see them walk into the innermost room and close the door behind them. 0

"They're not planning to harvest organs from the body, are they?" Captain Wu speculated aloud. 0

I paused for a moment; it was possible that he was right. 0

The two of them stayed inside for quite a while before finally emerging from that room, each carrying a box that looked very much like a medical kit. 0

I frowned again. If they really took organs from the body, how would we be able to bring the female ghost back to life? 0

Suddenly, an idea struck me. I told Captain Wu to wait for me while I transformed myself into the appearance of a corpse and lay down on an empty bed. 0

Just as the two men approached me, I let out a terrifying sound. 0

In an instant, both of them were startled, dropping what they were holding. Seeing that the moment was right, I slowly got up. 0

This time, I scared them so badly that they fainted. 0

Captain Wu walked over at that moment and joked that he almost had a heart attack himself. 0

I shot him a glare and urged him to focus on the task at hand—getting the woman's body out. Meanwhile, I quickly grabbed the Wooden Box that had fallen on the ground. 0

To avoid unnecessary trouble, we were very careful when leaving the hospital. We did our best to evade the cameras, and after loading the body into the car, both Captain Wu and I finally let out a sigh of relief. However, one problem was still troubling me. 0

When I had just taken the woman's body, I had specifically glanced at the identification card beside it, which recorded her date of birth and time of death. Although it matched the ghost's birth date and time, the organs inside the body had been removed. How were we supposed to get them back in? 0

I asked Captain Wu about it, but to my surprise, he just smiled and said I was worrying too much. Yuan Yuan was skilled in medicine; she could simply put the organs back in. 0

My eyes lit up at that thought. If that was the case, then it would be manageable. 0

We immediately returned to our place. After unloading the body, we called Uncle Tiger. 0

Uncle Tiger took a look at the body but didn’t say anything. Instead, he pointed to a spot, indicating where we should place it down. 0

Once everything was set up, I asked Captain Wu to call Officer Yuan. Before long, Officer Yuan arrived. 0

Captain Wu quickly explained the situation to Officer Yuan, who agreed to help. Just as she was about to start reattaching the organs, Uncle Tiger stopped her. He said that the corpse's death energy was just right; it couldn't be mixed with Yin Qi. Otherwise, since the ghost also had Yin Qi and so did this corpse, it wouldn’t be able to transition to Yang. 0

Uncle Tiger's words left both me and Captain Wu stunned. How could Officer Yuan let the corpse come into contact with Yin Qi? 0

Uncle Tiger explained that the woman already had a heavy presence of Yin Qi. Since this corpse was also female and had died in an accident, it would be even easier for that energy to transfer onto the body. 0

Understanding this, Captain Wu and I were soon ushered out by Uncle Tiger. He said that too many people couldn’t be present during the resurrection of the ghost; otherwise, it would disrupt the atmosphere. 0

We had no choice but to wait outside. 0

This continued until late at night. By then, Officer Yuan was extremely tired. Captain Wu offered to take her home and upon returning, he told me that A Yao wasn’t doing well and suggested I go check on her. 0

Hearing this made my heart sink immediately as I hurriedly asked Captain Wu what had happened to A Yao. 0

Captain Wu sighed and said he wasn't sure. 0

I lost all desire to stay there, wishing I could fly directly to A Yao's side at that moment. 0

Suddenly, a thought struck me—Qiman. 0

Could this be related to Qiman? 0

Previously, A Yao and Yuan Yuan had been living there because Uncle Tiger had come. To ensure Uncle Tiger could rest well, I had sent A Yao to stay with Officer Yuan at her home. After Uncle Tiger left, I planned to bring A Yao back, but I hadn't considered the matter of Qiman. 0

Unable to contain my feelings any longer, I borrowed a car from Captain Wu and drove to Officer Yuan's house. I called A Yao and told her I was downstairs. Before long, she came down. 0

When I saw A Yao, I was taken aback. She looked terrible, with dark circles under her eyes, resembling someone on the verge of death. 0

I hugged A Yao tightly, asking how she had ended up like this. 0

In a weak voice, A Yao explained that every time she slept lately, she dreamed of Qiman. In those dreams, Qiman always clung to her and insisted she come down to accompany her. 0

Seeing A Yao in tears broke my heart. It seemed the only option was to take her back home; after all, Xiaomei had mentioned that there were frightening things related to Qiman beneath the house. It was also time to deal with the situation regarding Qiman. 0

That night, I took A Yao back home, and Uncle Tiger had nearly completed the process of transforming the female ghost into a spirit. 0

Uncle Tiger said we just needed to wait a few more days to see if the ghost's soul would reject its body. If not, it could be transformed successfully. 0

Both Captain Wu and I were pleased; this meant we had one less task on our hands. 0

After finishing up, Uncle Tiger noticed A Yao's poor condition and asked with concern what was wrong. 0

I sighed and explained the situation A Yao was facing to Uncle Tiger. 0

After listening, Uncle Tiger didn't say anything but turned and walked into the room. I thought he was going in to get something, so I waited for a few minutes. To my surprise, he had gone in to rest instead. 0

I felt helpless. After calming A Yao down, I lay down beside her to rest for a while. 0

By noon, A Yao woke me up, saying that Captain Wu wanted me to come to the police station. I was taken aback; it seemed like there wasn't much going on, and I had planned to spend some quality time with A Yao. 0

I quickly freshened up and reassured A Yao before leaving. 0

When I arrived at the police station, I saw a group of people in a meeting. They seemed to be leaders from the city, and the atmosphere was very serious. I had no choice but to sit aside and wait for Captain Wu. It wasn't until close to noon that the meeting finally ended. 0

At that point, my stomach was growling with hunger, so I ordered takeout, including a meal for Captain Wu. 0

Captain Wu walked out with a dark expression on his face. I couldn't help but chuckle a few times. He shot me a glare and said with a look of grievance, "You're still laughing? We're about to get scolded by the leaders." 0

Seeing Captain Wu's serious demeanor, I cleared my throat and asked him what was wrong. 0

He sighed and said, "Ah, little brother, you have no idea. Recently, our city has been working on attracting investment. There's a big boss collaborating with the city's leaders. If we can sign the contract, it would boost our city's economy, which is great news for us. But unfortunately, this big boss has gotten into some strange trouble." 0
