Living Funeral
Everyone was stunned, unable to react quickly, as their eyes were drawn to the sight before them—a woman whose chest was remarkably large, capturing everyone's attention instantly.
The women who had come along quickly urged the men to look away.
Meanwhile, the man who had fought with me earlier became furious and shouted, "What the hell are you all looking at? Stop staring!" With that, everyone turned away.
However, I didn’t turn around. I kept my gaze fixed on the woman, but don’t get me wrong; I wasn’t being lecherous. I was trying to understand why she was convulsing. Was she possessed?
Seeing that I hadn’t turned away, the man grew angrier and yelled, "Damn it! Have some decency!" He then wrapped his arms around the woman.
Damn it, if something happens later, don’t blame me. I quickly turned my back.
A few seconds later, the man seemed unable to hold on any longer and shouted, "I need a few people to help! Wang Tao, you guys don’t need to come over!"
After he said this, several women hurried over and asked, "Jiang Hao, Dan Dan, what happened?"
Jiang Hao replied, "I don’t know! This pervert barged in here, and not long after, Dan Dan started acting like this."
Suddenly, Jiang Hao shouted at me, "Did you do something to Dan Dan? If anything happens to her, I won’t let you off!"
I was speechless. Seriously? How could this be blamed on me?
I said to Jiang Hao, "Didn’t you realize where you are? Your girlfriend might be possessed."
Jiang Hao retorted, "Don’t talk nonsense."
I told him, "If you don’t believe me, press down on the center of her forehead; she’ll definitely scream."
At that moment, Jiang Hao hesitated and asked suspiciously, "Is that true?" His girlfriend was indeed making a pitiful sound now; however, it wasn’t a loud scream but more like a moan.
At that moment, the woman beside her said, "Jiang Hao, have you forgotten? This Zhang Family Village is a Ghost Village, and it's very likely that Dan Dan has been possessed."
Jiang Hao replied, "I'll trust you this once." After saying that, he quickly followed my instructions. Before long, a piercing scream echoed through the air.
Jiang Hao was completely panicked now and hurriedly asked me, "What should we do now? Is she really possessed?"
I told Jiang Hao, "Based on my experience, it seems likely. If you trust me, help her get dressed first."
Several women quickly chimed in, "Jiang Hao, listen to him. The way he speaks sounds like he knows what he's doing."
About five minutes later, Jiang Hao turned to me.
I walked forward; Dan Dan was still convulsing, and the previous cries of despair continued.
Although I wasn't a professional, there's an old saying: 'A long illness makes one a doctor.' Having encountered many cases of possession, I had picked up some knowledge along the way.
I looked at Dan Dan's pale face; the intensity of her convulsions was increasing.
Jiang Hao asked me, "Do you have any methods?"
At that moment, Jiang Hao was tightly holding Dan Dan. I took out the talismans I had brought with me and noticed a black line on Dan Dan's forehead.
First, I applied Cinnabar to her forehead and then used my own blood to write the word "Decree" on her hand.
After writing "Decree," I saw the black line on Dan Dan's forehead slowly fade away until it completely disappeared.
The intensity of Dan Dan's convulsions changed; the pitiful sounds she had made earlier were gone.
Dan Dan gasped for breath as if she had just come up for air after holding it for too long. However, I felt something strange; if she had indeed been possessed, she showed no reaction when I wrote "Decree" on her hand just moments ago.
There was another possibility: Dan Dan might have been possessed by Evil Energy, which could explain why her reaction during the exorcism wasn't as intense.
Dan Dan gradually calmed down, but soon she started cursing. She called me a pervert and wondered why Jiang Hao hadn't kicked me out yet.
Hearing Dan Dan's words, I realized she must not remember how she had acted earlier. When someone is possessed, they have no recollection of their actions.
Jiang Hao explained, "Dan Dan, you were possessed just now. Thanks to this brother here, you managed to come back to yourself."
"Possessed? How come I didn't know?"
Several women chimed in, "Jiang Hao isn't lying. You were indeed possessed, and this person saved you."
I glanced at Dan Dan and confirmed she was alright before slowly standing up. I told the other men who were still turned away that they could turn around now; she was fine.
The three men quickly turned back and approached us, asking questions one after another.
Just then, one woman asked, "Dan Dan, where did you get that outfit? It looks really nice."
"Yeah, the fabric seems pretty good too."
Once the topic shifted to clothing, Dan Dan quickly forgot everything else. She laughed and said, "Oh this outfit! I took it from that cabinet. I thought it looked pretty, so I decided to wear it for a bit."
One of the women remarked, "You dare wear clothes from here?"
Dan Dan replied, "Are you silly? This outfit is really beautiful; it would be a waste not to wear it."
"But you were just possessed."
At that moment, Dan Dan seemed to regain some memory. "Did I even have clothes on when I was possessed? Don't be foolish; it definitely has nothing to do with this outfit. Besides, it might not have even been possession. I've been meaning to tell you all that my family has a history of illness. When it flares up, my body can uncontrollably convulse."
I listened to Dan Dan and felt as if she were an old immortal complaining about her long life. Damn it, it's just a piece of clothing. Although I didn't believe that a torn garment could cause possession.
However, I found it amusing that Dan Dan was making such a fuss over a piece of clothing.
The other women seemed to agree with Dan Dan's reasoning and quickly chimed in, "Yeah! Where did you get those clothes? Do you have more? Show us!"
The chatter among the four women was incessant, creating quite a ruckus.
Dan Dan soon stood up as if nothing had happened and said, "Alright, I'll take you all to see."
At that moment, Jiang Hao walked over to me and said, "Sorry, man. I misunderstood you earlier. I apologize. Here, have a smoke."
I replied that it was fine and accepted the cigarette.
As I looked at the group in front of me, I noticed they were all quite young—probably around twenty years old.
Seeing Jiang Hao being polite to me, the other three followed suit.
Jiang Hao introduced himself, explaining that they were university students here for an adventure. They didn't believe in any so-called Ghost Village nonsense.
I nodded but didn't say much. The people from Zhang Family Village were all dead, but no one would come from there anymore. They were here for exploration, and I had nothing to say; I wasn't sure what they wanted.
Jiang Hao quickly asked me, "So what about you?"
I paused for a moment. I was also here for an adventure. I had seen some eerie things online and decided to come check it out.
"Can you really trust what you find online?" Jiang Hao continued. "But seriously, was my girlfriend really possessed?"
I nodded slightly; it was quite possible.
Jiang Hao paused and said, "Could it be that there really are ghosts here?"
I glanced at Jiang Hao and asked, "Is there any water to drink here?" Jiang Hao quickly replied that there was a well on the left side of the house, and I could go there for water.
At that moment, my throat felt parched, and as I was about to leave, I told Jiang Hao and the others, "You should leave here as soon as possible; who knows if there really are ghosts."
After I spoke, I didn’t wait for their response and hurried off to drink water. I was truly dying of thirst.
Jiang Hao wasn’t lying; there really was a well on the left side of the house, complete with a bucket and everything. After I drew up a bucket of water, I drank greedily, finally feeling relieved once I had quenched my thirst.
By this time, the sun had already set, and Zhang Family Village was enveloped in darkness. My purpose for coming here was to find Zhang Xun's home.
The village had at least a hundred households, scattered unevenly, so some houses were quite far apart. Searching for each one individually would be quite troublesome. However, there was a quicker way: by looking at the house numbers. Of course, to know which number corresponded to Zhang Xun's house, I would need to visit the Zhang Family Ancestral Hall. With that thought in mind, I prepared to set off.
Generally speaking, ancestral halls are located in prominent positions within villages, so it didn’t take me long to find the Zhang Family Ancestral Hall.
However, upon reaching the entrance, I found the door closed.
Taking a deep breath, I turned on my flashlight and pushed the door open. With a creak, it swung open.
I stepped inside and shone my flashlight around. But in the next moment, I saw something I did not want to see.
