“Heresy, a hypocritical fellow?”
“It seems that there is indeed a Holy See in this world, but their power has yet to reach the point of covering everything!”
Ye Kai squinted his eyes. He decided to probe further and directly stated, “My goal is simple; I want the Vampire Princess—Sonia.”
“Sonia?!”
Ariel paused for a moment, then suddenly laughed sharply, “You’re here for her? Ha ha ha, no wonder you sneaked into the castle. However… she was originally one of my targets too. If you want her, you’ll have to offer me something that makes me Heartfelt, otherwise, I won’t hesitate to intervene.”
In truth, Ariel didn’t believe this statement at all. Sneaking into the castle to capture the Vampire Princess was far less straightforward than lying in wait outside; it was much simpler.
So this person definitely had other motives!
Seeing the witch enveloped in swirling black smoke like a serpent, Ye Kai smiled noncommittally. He knew the witch was unlikely to believe him, but this was just like a business deal—one party raises the price while the other negotiates.
“Boom!!!”
A heavy and eerie aura of darkness expanded around him, instantly enveloping a three-meter Scope, forming a black hole where vision and space were distorted.
Facing the witch’s probing tendrils of black smoke, Ye Kai remained unfazed. With an even more domineering and bizarre Magic Field, a single witch posed no threat.
“Dark Power?!”
Ariel exclaimed. A thick and horrifyingly viscous black smoke surged forth, and with a muffled ‘bang’, it felt as if a level seven gale had swept through the room, leaving chaos in its wake.
What pure dark energy!
Suddenly, Ye Kai’s eyes lit up; this witch was even more formidable than he had imagined. With a thought, his Magic Field surged dramatically, instantly wrapping around a large mass of heavy black smoke like sand.
Then, hundreds of sharp forces like sword qi tore through the mass of black smoke into countless fragments.
"You're dead..." Ariel's expression changed drastically as a wooden staff suddenly appeared in her hand. At the top of the staff, a red gem emitted a crimson beam of light. With a loud 'bang', the two were pushed apart once again.
"Eh!"
Ye Kai felt his Magic Field momentarily stall from this strike, and he couldn't help but wonder, "What is that gem...?"
Ariel paused with her staff, and the red gem released waves of Radiance that enveloped her completely. Her hair danced wildly as she shouted in a sharp voice, "Ye Kai, are you preparing to fight to the death with Hereditary Witch Ariel?"
How could this damned guy possibly possess Dark Power?
The very thing we have pursued our entire lives has appeared in the hands of an outsider. This...
She was astonished, unaware that Ye Kai was equally shocked. However, he quickly suppressed the fiery emotions within him. He had already decided that as long as he completed his mission, this witch could not be allowed to live, especially not with that red gem on her staff.
"Hmph, don't forget, you were the one who made the first move... Someone's coming!"
"Tap tap tap!!!"
Several Vampire Knights clad in silver armor rushed toward them. The leading man wore a helmet and had a grim expression; his eyes emitted a faint red glow, making him appear quite eerie.
"Bang!"
The man forcefully pushed open the door and glanced at the Barren Couple sleeping on the bed. He then surveyed the mess around him, and his expression changed slightly as he shot a piercing look at the two.
"Prepare to meet the Lord immediately!"
Feeling the malicious gaze from this individual of considerable status within the castle, Ye Kai couldn't help but smile wryly as he glanced at the witch pretending to look pitiful.
With all this chaos on the floor and a fifteen or sixteen-year-old girl looking so endearing, anyone would think something rather unpleasant had occurred!
Yellow mud fell into the crotch, not feces, but it might as well be!
Rubbing his nose, Ye Kai woke up Balen Cobasell, the Fatty, who then led him to the Castle Council Hall. However, just as he was stopped, Balen Cobasell tugged at him, making him carry a heavy box.
Ye Kai smiled; although this Fatty was scared to death, he wasn't foolish. He cleverly used this method to keep up with him.
Meanwhile, he carried a smaller box and walked ahead.
The hall was exceptionally spacious, at least 70 meters long and about 30 meters wide. It was hard to imagine that in this barren and backward era, someone could excavate such a vast space within a Mountain Body.
The walls were adorned with various oddly shaped stone carvings and reliefs, along with some meaningful murals that looked quite special.
"How amazing!" Ye Kai exclaimed.
In the darkness on both sides stood Vampire Knights, along with elegantly dressed women exuding a cold charm. Directly ahead was Victor, with the Vampire Princess standing to his right and a man with glowing red eyes on his left.
On either side were members of the Elder Council, each appearing extraordinarily noble.
Ye Kai stood among the crowd, carefully sensing the faint smell of blood emanating from them. Perhaps those with a stronger scent had killed more people and thus possessed greater strength.
However, that wasn't absolute; vampires were creatures that grew stronger with age.
Watching the scene unfold like in an Original Work, Ye Kai saw Victor fly into a rage when a noble presented too few silver coins. He immediately struck down the noble in anger.
Though surprised by Victor's power, Ye Kai felt a stirring in his heart as he secretly speculated whether he could eliminate everyone in this hall if he unleashed his full strength.
He believed that would yield an immense amount of Evolution Points and Soul Gems!
With that thought in mind, he could hardly resist the urge to make his move.
"Hmph, what do you want to do? You don't really think that the vampires here are weak and that you can just take them down, do you?"
Ye Kai's body trembled, his pupils dilating and contracting several times in an instant. He immediately recalled the pleasant fragrance he had sensed upon entering the hall, and a surge of killing intent rose within him. He transmitted his thoughts, "Let's talk. Just because we are in a cooperative relationship doesn't mean I have to listen to you."
"Idiot, everything here has long been controlled by someone else. Do you think I haven't acted directly because I couldn't? Even Victor is nothing but trash in my eyes, but I can't move because there are others lurking in the shadows!"
Hearing Ariel's words, Ye Kai couldn't help but think back to the Flying Witch from earlier. But he quickly realized something was off; if she were merely a witch, then if they teamed up, they could at least drive her away, if not defeat her.
Yet the current situation was that Ariel was wary!
Who was she afraid of?
That unknown witch was one possibility, but who else?
Were there other forces preparing to intervene?
Was that even possible?
Ye Kai fell into deep thought...
