"Chirp..."
Watching the Red Flame Bird, which had just taken flight only to be swatted down by the deity, Ye Kai couldn't help but feel both amused and exasperated.
Although this creature, roughly the size of a sparrow, seemed somewhat pitiful, it had pretended to surrender only to attempt to set them on fire. This had enraged the deity, who treated it like a ping pong ball, batting it back and forth for amusement.
After a while, the cries of the Flame Vermilion Bird had turned hoarse, its feathers were ragged, and its once bright eyes now appeared dull and lifeless, clearly showing signs of severe injury.
"Alright, Girl, don't be angry anymore."
Ye Kai reached out and caught the Flame Vermilion Bird, cradling it in his palm. He commanded, "If you can understand me, nod your head; otherwise, I'll cook you up for dinner."
Upon hearing this, the already injured creature flapped its wings in panic as if trying to fly away. But after a moment's hesitation, it desperately nodded its head and chirped in response.
"Are you the guardian spirit beast of this place?" Ye Kai continued to inquire.
He suddenly recalled that whether it was the cave of cultivators or a Spatial Secret Realm, according to records, there should always be spirit beasts guarding such locations.
Looking at this creature's state, a glimmer of excitement flashed in his eyes.
"Chirp chirp!"
The Flame Vermilion Bird was terrified and nodded vigorously. It had forgotten how many years it had been since it suffered such terrifying injuries. How could these newcomers to the Cave be so ruthless!!!
"Are there other guardian spirit beasts?" Ye Kai asked again in a serious tone.
Upon hearing this question, the Flame Vermilion Bird's round eyes darted around before it nodded again while chirping. It spread its wings and pointed in a specific direction.
"My Lord God, this foolish bird is useless to keep around. We might as well throw it to the lab for dissection or just eat it. I've read in many tales that the flesh and blood of Earth Spirit Beasts have nourishing properties!" The Divine Tiger remarked with an unfriendly glare at the trembling creature in Ye Kai's hand.
Ye Kai irritably poked the bird's head with his finger and scolded with a laugh, "You little thing still think about plotting against others? Aren't you afraid that the deity will really roast you for dinner?"
He had found it somewhat amusing; clearly, this creature was up to no good. But with its childlike intelligence akin to that of a three or four-year-old, it was no match for the deity's keen perception—Ye Kai could see through its intentions at a glance.
Watching the listless figure standing in the birdcage formed by the powerful electromagnetic field, Ye Kai chuckled lightly. "God, let's take a good rest and check out that big Python tomorrow!"
Half an hour later, he finally learned some things about this Cave.
It turned out that within this vast Celestial Mountain Cave, there were over two hundred guardian spirit beasts, each located on various peaks rich in Spiritual Energy and Spiritual Veins.
The place they had just entered was once the training ground of the strongest individual in this Cave, and the Blazing Vermilion Bird was one of the top three among these guardian spirit beasts.
Another of the top three spirit beasts was located just over eight hundred miles away—a great Python, which actually possessed the Frostwing Python Bloodline, known as the Frostwing Unicorn Python.
Essentially, it was a giant serpent of ice attributes with two ice-blue wings and a blue horn on its head.
The third powerful spirit beast was an Old Turtle, an ordinary water turtle that had achieved its form through chance. It resided in a massive lake in another direction.
The three spirit beasts were at odds with each other yet also partners, as they had long suspected that the master of this Cave had met with misfortune; otherwise, someone would have appeared by now.
As for the texts and spiritual herbs within their respective Caves, they could not comprehend them and dared not consume them carelessly. Who knew if they would explode after eating?
Such incidents had been witnessed far too many times over nearly a thousand years. Despite how tempting those elixirs looked, they did not dare to consume them recklessly.
As for cultivating Techniques, that was even more challenging; they could not understand the characters and had no one to teach them. Thus, they could only rely on instinct to cultivate. This was why even the Flame Vermilion Bird, who had lived for over a thousand years, could not be defeated by Ye Kai.
"Once you absorb your first Spiritual Energy and master its use, it signifies that you have become the most basic Qi Practitioner and entered what is known as the Foundation Establishment realm. To continue advancing, you need to absorb more Spiritual Energy and continuously strengthen yourself."
"If you want to ascend to the second major realm of cultivation, then the Spiritual Energy you control must meet one condition: you must refine your true essence into a fluid foundation of magical power. This is when you truly step onto the path of immortality."
"In terms of Foundation Establishment, there are nine stages. The first stage requires merely one strand of spiritual power; the second stage requires four strands; the third stage requires eight strands; as for the fourth stage, it requires twelve strands..."
"From the fifth stage onward, you need to reach twenty-four strands of spiritual power. The sixth to eighth stages require double that amount from before. Following this pattern, when you advance to the ninth layer of Qi control, it means that you must have mastered at least three hundred eighty-four strands of Spiritual Energy..."
"Hiss... This is just too difficult! The so-called Qi Practitioners are tenfold or even a hundredfold stronger than any Grandmaster after reaching full Foundation Establishment!"
"According to this standard, my current true energy barely reaches seven layers—only enough to condense ninety-six strands of spiritual power?"
"Three hundred eighty-four points of spiritual power, damn it, when the hell can I gather that much?"
After grasping part of the truth, Ye Kai was completely unsettled. Cultivating immortality was no ordinary task!
No wonder so-called cultivators placed such great emphasis on their innate qualities and talents; achieving immortality was exponentially more difficult than a regular student getting into the highest institution in the real Dimension!
"..." The deity glanced at the person who was losing his mind but chose to ignore him. Instead, they began to carefully analyze the recently acquired Cultivation Manual.
Previously, they had only received information related to rune technology. Although there were rune sequences within the Cultivation System, that was merely a small part of it.
This realization made the deity serious. If they could thoroughly research this advanced Technique, it would not only bring immeasurable benefits to the existing technological system but also lead to the development of many powerful weapons.
In fact, stepping into the Space Age might not be impossible!
Casting another look at the Mysterious individual who was still in shock, the deity sighed deeply. It seemed their workload was about to increase again.
Looking at their chubby hands, they felt that this Lord God had no qualms about using 'child labor' and didn't see anything wrong with it at all!
