On one side of the Council Hall, God Tone, Polnareff, and Sunan were urgently searching for shelter when they finally found a relatively sturdy wall. God Tone's face was pale as he looked at the falling debris and dust from the ceiling, panic overtaking him. "Damn it! The previous earthquakes weren't this extreme; we're doomed, damn it!"
Polnareff's expression was serious as he turned to God Tone. "Calm down, God Tone! You can't panic like this; it will only frighten everyone else. We need to stay composed; that's the most important thing." His gaze was steady and serious, trying to maintain order within the group.
At that moment, Sergeant Rad stood bravely in front of them, holding up a massive shield to courageously block the rocks crashing down from above. His body swayed slightly behind the shield, but his eyes remained resolute, ensuring maximum protection for his teammates behind him.
"Oh my god! What is happening? Are we going to die? Look at those stones! It’s like the end of the world!"
Polnareff tried to soothe him. "Calm down, God Tone; you're going to scare everyone." However, God Tone's panic seemed to amplify the surrounding fear. Yolo and Yanyan began to feel the pressure too, with tears welling up in Yanyan's eyes. "Are we really going to die here? This is all too terrifying!"
Sergeant Rad continued to hold up his shield in front of them, striving to protect them, but God Tone's words and actions made that task even more difficult. He looked at God Tone sternly. "God Tone, this isn't the time for jokes; get under this shield now!"
God Tone continued flailing about in fear. "No, you don’t understand! This time is really different; it feels like the whole world is collapsing!" This only added immense pressure on Polnareff and Sunan, who exchanged helpless glances and sighed, unable to quell God Tone's panic.
In a corner of the Council Hall, God Tone's frantic behavior escalated amidst the tense atmosphere, making him seem particularly ridiculous. As dust and debris fell around them, he even found moments to joke. Sunan finally reached his breaking point and angrily grabbed God Tone by his plump shoulders, shaking him forcefully while shouting, "Damn it, God Tone! Can you stop being so ridiculous? Do you even realize what’s happening right now?"
God Tone wobbled like pudding from Sunan's grip but responded with an exaggerated grin. "Whoa there, Sunan! Are you really that mad? I'm just trying to lighten the mood! Haha, isn’t it funny?"
The veins on Sunan's forehead throbbed visibly as he nearly shouted himself hoarse. "You think this is a time for jokes? There are shattered walls and dust everywhere; how can you still be joking around?"
Seeing Sunan so furious finally made God Tone tone down his laughter a bit and feign remorse. Yet his words still carried a hint of insincerity. "Oh okay, okay, I won’t mess around anymore. But seriously, this situation is absurd; I just feel like if I don’t laugh I might cry. Lighten up a bit, Sunan! How about I sing you a song to ease the tension?"
Sunan shot him a fierce glare that finally silenced God Tone. Although God Tone still occasionally made exaggerated faces and gestures in an attempt to amuse those around him. In what could possibly be their last moments alive, there was an undeniable charm in God Tone's silliness that was hard to resist—even in such a dangerous situation.
In a corner of the Council Hall, Yanyan's panic reached its peak. Her screams filled the air with endless terror and despair, her voice piercing like a shrill alarm, relentlessly shattering everyone's eardrums. "We're all going to die! Look, the entire ceiling is about to collapse!" She hysterically waved her arms, seemingly trying to fend off the invisible threat that loomed over her.
Sunan's patience had completely worn thin; his roar was meant to drown out Yanyan's high-pitched cries. "Shut up, Yanyan! You're only making things worse!" His voice was firm and powerful, attempting to restore some semblance of order.
Meanwhile, God Tone's reaction was surprisingly flippant. A smile broke through his efforts to maintain a serious demeanor, despite him biting his lip in an attempt to show the same level of tension. However, every time Yanyan screamed, the corners of his eyes twitched involuntarily, as if he were suppressing laughter. "Yanyan, calm down; it's just an earthquake!" God Tone tried to lighten the mood with a humorous tone, but it seemed to have the opposite effect, only intensifying Yanyan's panic. His behavior undoubtedly added fuel to the fire, making an already chaotic situation even more unbearable.
Yolo was completely engulfed by the atmosphere of terror, curled up in a corner with her hands over her head, repeatedly muttering the same phrase in a weak yet desperate voice: "We're doomed, we're doomed, we're doomed..." Her gaze was unfocused, as if she had already witnessed the arrival of the apocalypse.
Polnareff had just issued a firm command in hopes of stopping everyone's panic and screams. "Enough! Everyone be quiet! We must..." His voice rang out powerfully as he tried to restore order. But just then, all efforts were abruptly interrupted.
A sudden violent tremor shattered the calm that had existed moments before; the entire space seemed to twist and become unstable in an instant. A terrifying rumble echoed as everyone barely had time to react before they saw the wall beside them collapse with a thunderous crash. Huge stones fell like rain, dust swirling around them and blocking their view, filling the air with the scent of debris and dust.
In a state of panic, everyone scrambled for cover as large stones crashed down upon them with heavy thuds. At that moment, Polnareff's voice was drowned out by chaos and destruction; an unexpected disaster ruthlessly disrupted their already precarious situation.
