The sudden question left Wang Chao feeling a bit dizzy. 0

What is something everyone has? Wang Chao's first thought was body parts. He knew Jiang He was referring to the people in the room, but Wu Guifeng was absent. What could it possibly be? 0

The others were also pondering Jiang He's inquiry, and for a moment, the atmosphere in the room grew tense and silent. 0

Xu Yiman disregarded Jiang He's question and asked back, "What do you mean?" 0

"Follow me," Jiang He said as he walked ahead. 0

He led everyone to the bedroom where a death had occurred. The body had already been removed, but bloodstains remained on the bed and the blanket. What Jiang He wanted everyone to see wasn't this, but rather the computer desk facing the foot of the bed. Jiang He had already observed it before, but after checking all the rooms, he was certain that something was missing from this house. 0

And that was what he had just asked everyone about—what exactly was gone. 0

"Take a look and see if you notice anything unusual here," Jiang He said, pointing at the computer desk. 0

Everyone looked at the desk. What was there? A desktop tower, a twenty-one-inch LCD monitor, a pair of subwoofers, a mechanical gaming keyboard, and a Razer gaming mouse. Aside from that, there was only a drawer. They had checked the drawer earlier; it contained only some loose change, cards, USB drives, and other trivial items. 0

There didn’t seem to be anything missing. 0

Jiang He stood next to the power strip and pointed at a charger still plugged in with a data cable attached. 0

"Is there a problem with this?" Wang Chao asked as he looked at where Jiang He was pointing. "What’s missing?" 0

Jiang He finally spoke up: "A phone. In today's society, almost everyone has a mobile phone. And He Hui Juan has such a high-end computer setup; this keyboard and mouse alone cost over a thousand yuan. She couldn't possibly not have a phone. Moreover, her phone would definitely be expensive." 0

Jiang He unplugged the charger and examined it before saying, "The iPhone 7 just went on presale not long ago." 0

Wang Chao took the charger from Jiang He's hand and inspected it closely. "This is indeed an Apple phone charger." 0

"But have you seen an Apple phone in this house?" Jiang He continued. "The homeowner's information we collected should include He Hui Juan's phone number, right?" 0

A detective quickly responded, "Yes." 0

"Call it," Jiang He commanded decisively. 0

He dialed the number, but the message that came through was that the phone had been turned off. 0

"I'm not familiar with communication surveillance," Jiang He said. "But I know that after an Apple Phone is lost, you can log into your account to find the location of the stolen phone, right?" 0

A technical officer from the criminal police spoke up. "If it's turned off, there's no way to locate it. We can only track it once the phone is powered on, and we can access it through her account. The problem is, we don't even know her account information right now. The substation doesn't have the capability for this; we'll likely need to send it to the City Bureau." 0

Jiang He looked at the black screen of the computer and remained silent for a moment. "Turn it on." 0

The computer booted up quickly, and before long, it was operational. The desktop was cluttered with various icons, nearly filling the screen. There were all kinds of software—download tools, games, several browsers, antivirus programs, and more. 0

Wearing gloves, Jiang He opened QQ and noticed that one of the accounts had its password saved. He logged in, and as soon as he was online, he heard numerous notification sounds. He casually opened a few messages and saw a "flame" icon next to several contacts' notes. 0

Jiang He understood that this indicated He Hui Juan had frequent conversations with these individuals. The chat records mostly revolved around games and some playful teasing directed at He Hui Juan; overall, there was nothing particularly outrageous in their exchanges. The computer contained nothing significant—just game screenshots, movies, and so on—which didn’t help Jiang He much. 0

"The account is her QQ email, and the password is the initials of He Hui Juan's name combined with her phone number," Jiang He stated. 0

With that, a technician began trying to log in using his Apple Phone. 0

But it failed. 0

"Change the password to the initials of He Hui Juan's name combined with her QQ number," Jiang He suggested again. 0

This time it worked. 0

Everyone looked at Jiang He with admiration. 0

"How did you know the password?" Wang Chao asked him. 0

"Just a guess," Jiang He replied. "He Hui Juan is a very lazy person. A particularly lazy person wouldn't pay much attention to their password either. Just look at her chaotic desktop; her life is just as disorganized. She definitely wouldn't set a complicated password. So starting with a letter followed by numbers is the best choice. And she would remember this number clearly; it's either her QQ number or her phone number." 0

"It's actually not hard to guess," Jiang He inquired. "So? Is her phone powered on?" 0

"No," the technician shook his head. 0
"Then keep an eye on this phone. Once it powers on, we need to lock it down. However, I have a fifty percent chance of believing that this phone may never turn on," Jiang He said. 0

Hearing Jiang He's fifty percent estimate made Wang Chao's heart skip a beat. A fifty percent chance meant that Jiang He was essentially relying on pure speculation. In Wang Chao's mind, after Jiang He had examined the scene, he would have at least a seventy percent certainty. 0

Wang Chao couldn't help but speak up, "We checked the locking situation of the door. From the type of lock, we can confirm that it was locked from the inside, which means this phone was dropped before the door was locked." 0

This time, Jiang He agreed with Wang Chao's assessment. "When I entered each room, I noticed that the windows were all locked, and the doors were also locked. This is a sealed room; no one could have taken the phone out under these circumstances." 0

"In other words, the phone disappeared before the door was locked," Jiang He continued. "I have an eighty percent probability that this phone was lost today. As He Hui Juan's husband, Li Weiyi must know whether his wife's phone is missing. If he doesn't know, then it means the phone went missing after he left for work." 0

"Or," Jiang He raised a finger, "there's another possibility." 0

"Which is what I asked earlier: where exactly was Li Weiyi around eleven o'clock this morning?" Jiang He looked at everyone and proposed a chilling hypothesis. 0

Everyone understood Jiang He's implication; he was suggesting that Li Weiyi might have killed his wife and mother. 0

Throughout this discussion, Xu Yiman had been standing nearby. When Jiang He guessed He Hui Juan's account and password in just two attempts, Xu Yiman thought Jiang He might be somewhat useful. However, when Jiang He brought up this point again, her disdain for him resurfaced. 0

"Can't you think of something positive?" Xu Yiman said. 0

Jiang He shook his head. "I don't quite understand what you mean, but if you have basic information and observe the body and the scene, it's easy to deduce a conclusion with a high probability. It could be that Li Weiyi took the phone or that he committed murder." 0

"But," Jiang He shifted his tone, "before I interact with Li Weiyi, I can't assign a probability to this possibility; it's merely a potential scenario. As for whether the truth is indeed so, I cannot be certain right now. The clues we have are still too few, but we can derive infinite possibilities from these limited clues." 0

"Eliminating some impossible options also holds significant meaning," Jiang He said while looking at Xu Yiman, his tone calm. "If Li Weiyi has an absolute alibi, we can eliminate his suspicion and prove his innocence. Suspects are not criminals; why should we exclude them?" 0

Countered on the spot, Xu Yiman felt an urge to retort but didn't know how to respond to Jiang He. Jiang He had significant communication issues; he seemed unable to gauge whether others were angry. No matter how impatient one might be, dealing with someone as unfeeling as Jiang He left them at a loss. 0

Xu Yiman shrugged and offered a helpless smile. 0

Meanwhile, Wang Chao already knew what kind of person Jiang He was. "Then let's start our investigation with Li Weiyi and find out what he was doing at eleven o'clock this morning. The results could be good or bad; however, I don't quite understand—if Li Weiyi really did commit murder, what would his motive be? After all, it takes considerable resolve to harm one's own family." 0

Wang Chao shook his head slightly; like Xu Yiman, he thought such a possibility was too low. "Furthermore, how did the murderer escape from a locked room? And you also mentioned that Wu Guifeng likely committed suicide—what's going on there?" 0

Wang Chao felt like his head was about to explode. 0

Jiang He shook his head. "I don't think Li Weiyi is the murderer; it's just a possibility." 0

"Fine," Wang Chao replied helplessly, feeling that Jiang He clearly meant just that. 0

Jiang He continued, "Using a phone, committing murder, and suicide—none of these are contradictory. After we analyze all the possible probabilities, the highest one will be the closest to the truth. Of course, there's another possibility." 0

"Another one?" Wang Chao asked. 0

As Jiang He walked toward the door, he said, "Let's go back and interrogate Li Weiyi, then prepare the detailed Autopsy Report. By that time, we should save ourselves a lot of trouble." 0

Jiang He paused at the doorway, his gaze sweeping over the wall outside. The wall was plastered with numerous advertisements, and next to these ads were drawings of rectangles, circles, and pentagons that looked like they had been carelessly doodled by mischievous children. 0

Wang Chao looked at Jiang He and asked, "Can you leave? Aren't you going to check in with your precinct?" 0

"No need," Jiang He waved his hand dismissively. 0
