Bai Zhuo crept closer to the balcony, straining to hear the conversation between the two figures below.
"I've done what you asked. Can I have the items now?"
"Hey, hey, hey... don't be in such a hurry, Wang Kun." Wang Kun faced two Sorcerers clad in strange cloaks, their faces obscured. One of the Sorcerers spoke in broken Mandarin, "The sacrifice just jumped off the building, and now we're short one. You still need to handle this last sacrifice, Wang Kun!"
Wang Kun flicked his Peach Wood Sword and pointed it at the two Sorcerers with a cold smile. "Hmph... don't think for a moment that I'm easy to bully. The police have surrounded the entire hotel. I'm risking my life meeting with you; don't push your luck!"
"Wang Kun, don’t get it twisted. We had an agreement: help me complete the eighty-one sacrifices, and I'll give you what you want. Now we're down one. If you don't cooperate..." The speaker's words trailed off into a sinister laugh, leaving the implication hanging in the air.
Wang Kun narrowed his phoenix eyes and revealed a fierce grin. "Hmph, do you really think I’m afraid of you charlatans? There are agents coming up from downstairs; you'd better take care of yourselves because I'm done playing with you!"
With that, Wang Kun flicked his sleeve and turned to leave. However, one of the thinner Sorcerers immediately threw a handful of powder at him, which quickly enveloped Wang Kun's figure. Bai Zhuo, hiding in the shadows, watched in horror as Wang Kun screamed in agony; his flesh began to rot away. In less than a minute, he was reduced to a pile of bones!
The two Sorcerers cackled with glee at the sight. But suddenly, the pile of bones transformed into a cloud of blue smoke, leaving behind only a Paper Man and a Soybean on the ground.
"Turning beans into soldiers? Damn it!" The two Sorcerers picked up the Paper Man and examined it, their anger flaring.
With one sacrifice missing from the Nine Turns of the Universe Yin Soul Formation, they could no longer proceed with their plan. They began arguing in their native dialect; Bai Zhuo couldn't understand them but could see that they were having some sort of disagreement. The shorter Sorcerer shook his head nervously, refusing something.
"Ha ha ha..." The taller Sorcerer laughed maniacally and whistled sharply. A gray-white shadow like lightning swooped down from above. The shorter Sorcerer screamed upon realizing it was a woman.
With one sacrifice missing from the Nine Yin Universe Soul Formation, it became clear that the Sorcerer intended to use his companion as a sacrifice—utterly deranged!
"Ah—" The Female Sorceress couldn't dodge in time and let out a horrified scream as the lightning-fast gray shadow pierced through her pants and thrust into her body.
The Female Sorceress displayed a look of horror, clutching her lower body and moaning in pain. Suddenly, her expression froze; the look of agony vanished, replaced by an expression of utter comfort and deep ecstasy.
She let out an enticing sound, her legs tightly squeezed together as her body trembled a few times. A white liquid mixed with bright red blood flowed from her lower body, soaking her pants, yet she seemed completely unaware, as if lost in a hall of illusions.
In an instant, her abdomen swelled up and then flattened again, a bloody mass squeezed out from between her legs. Bai Zhuo, hiding not far away, covered her mouth and gagged repeatedly.
The male Sorcerer grabbed the mass from the ground, lifted his cloak, and laughed.
However, the man's face made Bai Zhuo's eyes widen in shock! This was no ordinary person; he looked like a monster! His enormous head lacked a skull, thin transparent skin wrapped around it, exposing a pockmarked brain as if it were exposed to the air. The muscles and veins on his face connected to two huge and peculiar eyeballs. His nose was not human-like, nor was his mouth; he appeared to be a haphazardly stitched-together creature!
The terrifying-looking man snapped his fingers, and suddenly the Female Sorceress's body deflated, quickly transforming into a Dried Corpse! The Dried Corpse's mouth moved slightly as an insect crawled out from its mouth—it was the Flying Yin Serpent Gu!
The Flying Yin Serpent Gu flew onto the man's hand, affectionately rubbing against the back of his hand. The man stroked the Gu Worm a few times before grabbing the bloody mass in his hand and tossing it into his wide-open mouth with an expression of enjoyment!
This mass of flesh must have belonged to that Female Sorceress. Wasn't he supposed to be creating the Nine Turns Rebirth Formation? Why did he eat it? "Ugh!"
Bai Zhuo couldn't help but gag again. The man suddenly turned around and shouted, "Who!"
Damn it, I’ve been discovered! Bai Zhuo cursed under her breath as the man flicked his hands, sending the Flying Yin Serpent Gu shooting toward Bai Zhuo's throat at an almost imperceptible speed!
"Oh no! So fast!" Bai Zhuo had no time to react; she couldn't even raise her hands to block it and could only watch helplessly as a gray shadow flew toward her neck.
Was she really going to die after just one encounter? Damn! Just as despair washed over Bai Zhuo, she felt movement in her pocket—a burst of colorful light shot out! "Fuzzy!"
At that critical moment, Miao Xiaoqi's Golden Silkworm "Fuzzy" saved her life! The colorful Fuzzy was incredibly fast, instantly meeting the terrifying Flying Yin Serpent Gu! The Flying Yin Serpent Gu had not expected such an unexpected "savior" to appear midway and was caught off guard by Fuzzy.
Bai Zhuo suddenly regained her senses. She raised her right hand, which had already disengaged the safety on her gun, and fired two shots at the strange Sorcerer! However, Bai Zhuo did not anticipate that the recoil would be so intense; not only did the bullets fail to injure the Sorcerer at all, but the recoil also caused pain in her right hand, making it tremble uncontrollably.
“Ha ha ha! So it’s you, you little brat! In your Huaxia terms, it’s like finding a needle in a haystack, yet here you are, delivering yourself right to my doorstep! I never expected you to come to me; this is truly a blessing! Ha ha ha! My disciples! Today, Master will avenge you! Ah ha ha!”
The man with the bizarre and terrifying appearance was none other than the master of those Sorcerers from last month’s Ghost Hunting Competition! Bai Zhuo immediately cursed under his breath. Those Sorcerers had already been troublesome enough, and now their master had come seeking revenge. Would anyone be left alive?
“Die!” The strange man suddenly hurled a handful of powder at Bai Zhuo. Having witnessed the terrifying effects of this powder earlier, Bai Zhuo quickly covered his mouth and nose and retreated several steps, keeping his distance from the powder, not daring to approach it. He pinched a talisman between two fingers and threw it out while forming hand seals.
“Two Instruments and Four Symbols, Five Elements and Eight Trigrams! Displacement, Fire Separation Talisman, Supreme True Lord, Urgent Command! Command!”
The talisman did not fly toward the Sorcerer but rather toward the cloud of powder!
“Burn!” Under Bai Zhuo’s Borrowing Method, the Fire Separation Talisman ignited spontaneously within the dust! Anyone familiar with physical chemistry knows that open flames can cause explosions when they encounter dense clouds of dust!
Bai Zhuo tightly covered his mouth and nose and lay flat on the ground. The Sorcerer looked at Bai Zhuo’s actions in confusion, thinking he was afraid, and grinned as he rushed forward. Just as he attempted to bypass the burning Fire Separation Talisman in mid-air, an explosion erupted with a loud “boom!” sending the Sorcerer flying!
A wave of heat surged forth, but the dense dust did not spread toward Bai Zhuo; he lay on the ground unharmed. However, the Sorcerer was not so fortunate. His black leather cloak was reduced to ashes in the explosion, revealing a pale and bloodless body!
The Sorcerer crossed his arms over his head as the violent explosion scorched his hands down to mere bone! Slowly lowering his “arms,” his grotesque head revealed a terrifyingly fierce expression!
Seeing this, Bai Zhuo wasted no time. Gripping his handgun tightly, he fired several shots while lying on the ground. “Bang bang bang…” The gunfire rang out as he aimed at the Sorcerer! This time, his aim was true; out of six shots fired, five struck the Sorcerer’s body, with bright red blood gushing from the bullet holes!
“Yes!” Bai Zhuo exclaimed in delight, believing that this Sorcerer was finished. However, astonishingly, despite being hit by five bullets, it seemed as if this body didn’t belong to him at all; he felt nothing!
“Hehehe… After so long searching for a body, you’ve ruined it. Then I’ll just take this body for myself!”
Body? Bai Zhuo scrambled up in terror and focused on the Sorcerer’s neck. He gasped in shock: Damn it! This monster's body is stitched together?
“Hehehe… Die!” Suddenly, the Sorcerer’s head detached from its body and lunged at Bai Zhuo like a basketball-sized mass trailing bloody entrails behind it—moving at an incredible speed!
Bai Zhuo raised his pistol and fired two shots at the flying head that was rushing toward him. However, the bullets had no effect at all; the bizarre head instantly appeared right in front of Bai Zhuo!
"Ah!" The head opened its massive, gaping mouth like a clamp, revealing rows of sharp steel teeth that lunged toward Bai Zhuo's hands. Bai Zhuo decided to play along, chanting, "All combatants, advance! Sword in Hand, draw!"
The strange head aimed for Bai Zhuo's right hand. He lifted his right hand slightly, pointing Sword in Hand directly at its nose.
Yet Bai Zhuo forgot that this Flying Head Sorcery was impervious to blades and bullets, immune to fire and water; its only weakness lay in its body. The last time he dealt with that Sorcerer's Flying Head Sorcery, he had exerted all his strength and, with the help of Zhu Man and the Azure Serpent, managed to eliminate it.
As his fingers made contact with the head, a sound like steel clashing echoed, leaving him in disbelief! Pain shot through Bai Zhuo's fingers as he finally remembered this was indeed the Flying Head Sorcery! At this moment, its only weakness was its body. However, the body of the opponent just now was not even its own!
Bai Zhuo took a few steps back but found himself against a wall, trapped in a dilemma.
"Hey! Bai Zhuo, need some help?" Suddenly, a voice filled with both joy and annoyance came from the balcony—it was Kagura Keiha!
Bai Zhuo felt both nervous and curious as he asked, "Kagura Keiha! How did you get up here on this twenty-plus story building?"
Kagura Keiha pulled out a figure dressed in a suit and wearing sunglasses from behind him, spreading his arms wide. "Ta-da~ Bai Zhuo, look!"
The figure looked somewhat familiar. Bai Zhuo frowned and asked, "Who is he?"
"Oh dear—so sad... Zero Zero Seven, he doesn't even recognize you?" Kagura Keiha feigned sorrow as he took off the sunglasses from the suited man. "Jumping Corpse?!" Bai Zhuo's pupils constricted; it truly was the Jumping Corpse from Southern High School!
"That's right! My lovely Jumping Corpse—Zero Zero Seven! He helped me jump up here!" Kagura Keiha said cheerfully. "So what do you think? Bai Zhuo, do you want to team up to take it down?"
Before Bai Zhuo could respond, the Sorcerer sensed that Kagura Keiha posed an even greater threat and immediately turned its head to lunge at him! Normally seen as a fool, Kagura Keiha transformed completely when it came to action. He dodged behind Jumping Corpse, which had a strong protective instinct. It roared at the incoming Curse and extended its sharp claws to strike back. The sound of clashing echoed as the Zombie's nails collided with the Curse's attack, creating sparks!
"Zinc Seed Bow—arrow incoming!" A longbow formed in front of Kagura Keiha. Gripping the Zinc Seed Bow tightly, he summoned a Demon-Breaking Arrow. Releasing the bowstring with a snap, the arrow shot forth like a streak of light toward the Curse. Sensing the threat from the Demon-Breaking Arrow while grappling with Jumping Corpse, the Curse abandoned its struggle and attempted to dodge away!
Not far away, Bai Zhuo formed hand seals, starting slowly but quickly gaining speed, rapidly completing the gestures that pointed directly at the head. He roared, "Alpaca's Sorcerer! Cosmic Unity, Dao Follows Nature, Word Spirit secret technique—Curse! Bind!"
The Sorcerer did not expect Bai Zhuo to have such a trick up his sleeve. Caught off guard, he was instantly struck by Bai Zhuo's Word Spirit secret technique!
"Thud!" The Demon-Breaking Arrow pierced straight into the eye of the Curse, which let out a terrible scream and fell to the ground, instantly losing all vitality.
"Is it really... over? That was so easy?" Bai Zhuo stared blankly at the strange Curse on the ground, feeling a bit odd. He glanced at the nearby Flying Yin Serpent Gu, which had lost its connection to its master and also fell to the ground, shrieking as if struggling in its final moments.
Kagura Keiha waved his hand and laughed, "Haha! Of course it’s that simple, Bai Zhuo! This Flying Head Sorcery can destroy the Curse's defenses without needing to find its body! But of course, you need a weapon with power like my Demon-Breaking Arrow... By the way, Bai Zhuo, your Word Spirit secret technique—why is it different from what I taught you? It seems even more powerful than what I showed you before. How did you manage that?"
Bai Zhuo sighed in relief and put away the Seven-Colored Silkworm. "I researched Huaxia Taoist Arts and combined it with the techniques you taught me to create my own."
"Wow! Bai Zhuo! You're really something!" Kagura Keiha threw an arm around Bai Zhuo's shoulders. "Bai Zhuo, please teach me!"
Bai Zhuo had no particular fondness for this fool Kagura Keiha, but since he had just helped him out, he didn’t want to refuse outright. He simply brushed him off with a smile. "Maybe another time."
Just then, the Flying Yin Serpent Gu Insect that had been struggling on the ground suddenly flipped over and shot towards Bai Zhuo's back like a streak of light!
