Horror Chapter 0

The four people present were all survivors of several supernatural events, so they felt no surprise at what Wang Ke said. Any one of the three could have made the same choice as Wang Ke. 0

Seeing that the others had no objections, Wang Ke nodded in satisfaction and continued to walk ahead. To Jiang Liu, Wang Ke's first impression was that he was a madman, albeit a very rational one. 0

From the earlier behavior of the group, it was clear that Lin Dahai and Xu Meng unconditionally chose to believe in Wang Ke. If the three were part of a team, it might be understandable, but Wang Ke and his companions had only experienced a few incidents together before. 0

To unconditionally trust someone after just a few supernatural events meant either Wang Ke possessed extraordinary wisdom or he had an immense charisma. 0

Jiang Liu saw no trace of charisma in Wang Ke; instead, he sensed madness. Moreover, he disliked what Wang Ke had said about not wanting to put himself in danger. Jiang Liu thought he was just talking nonsense. 0

If he didn't want to put himself in danger, then why was he always at the front of the group? He was also the first to rush forward when unexpected situations arose. 0

In short, Jiang Liu felt nothing but a kind of madness from Wang Ke that he had never encountered before. Faced with such madness, Jiang Liu chose to temporarily retreat, remaining invisible within the group. 0

Unfortunately for him, Wang Ke always seemed to cast his gaze upon him, whether intentionally or not. 0

The four walked quietly down the corridor, unaware that as they left, the door covered in bloody handprints slowly creaked open behind them, revealing a pair of eyes peering out from the darkness beyond. 0

Time passed silently as the four searched for a way forward and discovered a passage leading to the fourth floor. Wang Ke remained at the front of the group, observing the calm surroundings. He felt something was off about this incident; everything was too quiet. 0

Upon reaching the fourth floor, they found themselves in a spacious hall. 0

In the center of the hall stood a massive dining table laden with food—only meat dishes that still emitted steam, suggesting they had just been served. 0

To their astonishment, three people stood at the table: two men and one woman. They also noticed the four newcomers on the fourth floor and looked at them with expressions of shock. 0

Wang Ke was equally stunned upon seeing that there were only three people, as if unable to believe a certain fact. He moved his lips and whispered, "It can't be just three people, can it?" 0

Lin Dahai and Xu Meng seemed to have noticed this phenomenon as well. They quietly asked Wang Ke, "What's going on? Could it be that there are more than seven people involved in this incident?" 0

Wang Ke bit his lower lip in silence, seemingly pondering what was happening. 0

"Who are you?" one of the three, a frail-looking boy, asked. 0

Wang Ke snapped out of his thoughts and looked at the three people not far away, responding, "Just like you, we are participants in this incident." 0

"Impossible!" the Weak Man retorted directly. "If you are also involved in this incident, why didn't we notice you before?" 0

Lin Dahai snorted and muttered, "Is this a case of turning the tables?" 0

Wang Ke furrowed his brow and asked the Weak Man, "Did you wake up on the first floor as well?" 0

"That's right." 0

"Then that's strange. We also woke up on the first floor and only found the four of us." 0

Suddenly, Wang Ke seemed to remember something and asked the Weak Man, "Did you hear the screams coming from the third floor earlier?" 0

The Weak Man shook his head. "We’ve been here for a while and didn’t hear any screams." 0

Hearing Weak Man's response, Wang Ke suddenly smiled. "I understand now. Friends, I think this incident involves seven people. The reason we haven't encountered each other is likely because we entered at different times, which means we didn't set off together." 0

"Do you have any proof?" 0

"When we four woke up earlier, we all noticed that our rooms looked like they had been rummaged through. I believe that was your doing." 0

Weak Man nodded. "That's right, we did search the other rooms, but that doesn't prove anything." 0

"Don't rush. If I'm correct, you three must have woken up in rooms 101, 10, and 107, right?" 0

"Yes." 0

"Then it's settled. When we were on the first floor, we found that there were only seven rooms in total. Since the four of us woke up in different rooms, along with the three of you, it perfectly accounts for one person per room." 0

After listening to Wang Ke's explanation, the three of them discussed it briefly and found it quite reasonable. The previously tense atmosphere dissipated as they smiled and approached him, greeting him with, "I see now! No wonder I felt there were too few people involved in this supernatural event." 0

Watching them come closer, Wang Ke turned to Jiang Liu and the others. "Remember what I said before?" 0

Then he smiled at the approaching trio. "Me too! By the way, have you discovered anything during your time here?" 0

"Nothing much; it has been safe all along." 0

What followed was a simple round of introductions. Once they finished introducing themselves, the two groups acted like long-lost friends and began sharing their experiences of how they arrived here. 0

After hearing Ma Chao, also known as Weak Man, Jiang Liu realized that the three of them had encountered a corpse on their journey as well. The only difference was that they hadn't heard any screams. 0

After discussing for a long time without reaching any conclusion, Wang Ke had no choice but to change the subject and ask Ma Chao what they were doing here. 0

Ma Chao pointed at the food on the table. "We thought this might be a resting place, so we wanted to take a break here before continuing our journey. Besides, there's no time limit on the event." 0

Wang Ke looked at the steaming food on the table. "Have you eaten?" 0

Ma Chao replied casually, "Yeah, we all had a little something to prepare for whatever might happen next. Do you want to eat a bit too? It could help replenish your energy." 0

"No thanks, I'm not used to eating meat," Wang Ke said with a smile as he declined. 0

"What about you guys?" Ma Chao asked Jiang Liu and the others. 0

"I don't like eating meat," Xu Meng said. 0

"I'm not in the mood to eat right now," Lin Dahai added. 0

Seeing that two of them had refused, Ma Chao turned his gaze to Jiang Liu. After pondering for a while, Jiang Liu noticed everyone looking at him and quickly shook his head. "I'm not in the mood to eat either." 0

With everyone uninterested in eating, Ma Chao decided not to press further, thinking to himself: Let's see if you all have the strength to run away later without filling up first. 0

Wang Ke felt that staying here was pointless and suggested they continue searching upstairs. No one opposed the idea. Thus, they moved toward the distant staircase. 0
