Minutes passed, and Jiang Liu was still lost in his anxious thoughts. Wang Chao, who had been waiting beside him, could no longer bear it and spoke impatiently.
"Do I really need to understand this? With the time we have, we should be thinking about what to do next. The ghost is already watching us. If you keep acting like this, when are we going to resolve this supernatural incident? You need to realize that we just went through an accident, and now you're suddenly getting anxious again."
Before Wang Chao could finish his sentence, he noticed that Jiang Liu had stopped muttering to himself and was now staring blankly at him. This made him question whether something unusual was happening to him.
He instinctively checked around his body but found nothing out of the ordinary. He then asked, "What's wrong? Is there something on me?"
"No," Jiang Liu shook his head. "What did you just say?"
"I?" Wang Chao's mind was a bit foggy, but he still answered Jiang Liu's question. "Did we really need to understand this? With the time we have, we should be thinking about what to do next."
"Not that sentence, the next one."
"The ghost is already watching us. If you keep acting like this, when are we going to resolve this supernatural incident?" Wang Chao thought for a moment and continued recounting his previous words. "You need to realize that we just went through an accident, and now you're suddenly getting anxious again."
"Yes, that's it! I understand why the ghost wanted to kill that police officer," Jiang Liu exclaimed excitedly.
Fortunately, at this time of day, there were few pedestrians on the road, and due to the heat, there was no one around them. Jiang Liu's voice went unheard by others. Wang Chao quickly gestured for Jiang Liu to lower his voice.
"Calm down! And what do you mean by that? You almost drove yourself crazy."
Now that he had figured things out, Jiang Liu was no longer anxious and gradually calmed down. His eyes sparkled as he looked at Wang Chao. "I understand why the ghost created the accident earlier and targeted that police officer!"
"What do you mean? Explain it to me clearly."

"What did I say?"
"Can you kill outside of school?" Jiang Liu continued to explain, "At first, when you said that, I thought the same as you. I believed that the initial accident was caused by a ghost specifically trying to kill us, but that's not the case. The ghost indeed wants to kill us, but not right now. If the ghost truly intended to kill us, we would have already been dead in the data room; it wouldn't wait until we found Jia Ren and gathered clues before acting."
"I understand that, but you can't just pretend nothing happened with that accident earlier," Wang Chao said.
"I know that, but for now, let's clarify things step by step so I can explain it clearly to you."
"Alright then, since there's still time," Wang Chao glanced at his phone.
"Good, let's start from the beginning of this incident," Jiang Liu asked Wang Chao a question: "Do you know how many people have died so far?"
"Let me count. The first was a girl from our class who jumped off a building. The second was that old man who watched over the library. The third was a female student who died tragically in the classroom, and the last one was Jia Ren. That's four people if I'm not mistaken," Wang Chao replied.
"No, do you think there is any connection between these four deaths?"
"At first glance, aside from the two female students who died because of the curse in the classroom, the old man and Jia Ren seem unrelated to this incident. But upon closer inspection, all four deaths are linked to the curse in Classroom 000; they all died because of it."
"Exactly. Because of this point, after Jia Ren's death, we should assume that ghosts can kill outside of school; however, that's not true. Ghosts cannot kill outside of school—at least not personally. This is why Jia Ren died in an accident; although her death was strange, it doesn't align with how ghosts typically kill."
"Go on," Wang Chao began to see some sense in Jiang Liu's words.
"There's one more thing you haven't considered: both the old man and Jia Ren died only after we found them. Although they had connections to Classroom 000 before, why didn't the ghost kill them then? Why wait until we found them before striking? What do you think is behind this?"
"I think maybe the ghost isn't omnipotent; it couldn't find those two on its own. Or perhaps while we were searching for clues, it planned to eliminate those who had survived before," at this point, Wang Chao's expression suddenly turned grim as he swallowed hard and looked nervously at Jiang Liu word by word: "Actually, the ghost..."
"Just knowing is enough; don't say any more," Jiang Liu stopped him with a look at Wang Chao's fearful eyes.
"Doesn't that mean we're in danger now?" Wang Chao said nervously.
"No, quite the opposite. We are safe now," Jiang Liu replied, his expression filled with confidence. "Just as you said, the ghost cannot personally kill those who survived before; it can only rely on us to find them. So not only will it not kill us, but it will also help us locate those who survived from Classroom 000."
"But the problem is, we don't even know how many people have survived."
"Right, we don't know, but it doesn't know either."
"It can't possibly not know; it's the source of all this," Wang Chao clearly did not believe Jiang Liu's speculation.
"It is the source, but if it knew, it wouldn't have allowed us to live this long. It would have ensured our deaths during that earlier incident."
At that moment, Jiang Liu realized why he felt a chill when he reached the spot where Jia Ren had died. Perhaps the ghost had intentionally made him feel that way, and it was also the ghost that allowed him to see the rebar falling from the rooftop, preventing their deaths.
It could be that they were both acting deliberately, or perhaps when they learned that the ghost had been beside them all along, they unconsciously began to refer to it as 'it.'
After pondering Jiang Liu's words for a long time, Wang Chao felt his lips were a bit dry and licked them. "So how do you know Jia Ren was the last one to survive from Classroom 000? What if he wasn't?"
Suddenly, Wang Chao froze. He understood another meaning behind Jiang Liu's words. Looking into Jiang Liu's confident eyes, he couldn't help but feel a wave of fear—a fear of Jiang Liu.
