Wang Chao felt a drop of water on his left ear and instinctively reached up to touch it. When he pulled his hand back, he was horrified to see several fingers stained with blood. The sight of blood on his fingers sent a chilling thought racing through his mind. 0

His body felt stiff, and he slowly lifted his head to look upwards. What he saw made his heart race—the severed head of a girl hovering above him. 0

The head floated like a balloon, its eyes wide open and filled with malice as it stared down at Wang Chao. It was then that he noticed the bloody object that had been dangling from the head when it had flown up. 0

It was a spine, connected to several chunks of flesh. The blood that had dripped onto Wang Chao's ear was falling from these pieces of meat. 0

Frozen in terror, Wang Chao remained transfixed, staring at the head while it stared back at him. After a few seconds, the mouth of the head suddenly moved a few times before it dropped down, as if the mysterious force that had kept it floating had vanished. 0

As he watched the head plummet towards him, Wang Chao finally snapped out of his daze and ducked just in time. The severed head hit the ground like a rubber ball, rolling down the corridor. 0

At this point, Jiang Liu interrupted Wang Chao's recounting and asked, "Before that girl's head fell, did you see her lips move?" 0

Wang Chao thought for a moment and nodded. "Yes, I wasn't mistaken; they definitely moved a few times before it fell. It looked like she was trying to say something to me, but I was so scared that I didn't pay attention to what she was saying." 0

Jiang Liu fell silent for a few seconds before saying, "Wasn't it something like, 'You all are going to die!'?" 0

Although Jiang Liu spoke in a calm tone, Wang Chao felt an involuntary shiver run down his spine. "Yes! That's exactly what she said!" 0

Upon hearing Wang Chao confirm this, Jiang Liu fell silent again, recalling how an old man in that wooden house had said the same thing to him earlier. 0

He couldn't shake off the feeling that this phrase had appeared twice now—both times identical. It felt as if this message was meant for them; otherwise, why would a ghost repeat the same line to both of them? 0

Noticing Jiang Liu's silence again, Wang Chao asked, "Hey, how did you know that head said that to me? You weren't even in the classroom." 0

Wang Chao looked at Jiang Liu intently and asked word by word, "Did you hear that phrase too while you were in there?" 0

Jiang Liu nodded, not waiting for Wang Chao to continue asking. He shifted the topic and asked Wang Chao, "So how did you suddenly end up here?" 0

"How could I not? I was so scared by what happened that I almost collapsed and ran out of the classroom. With everything that happened in there, Teacher Mei couldn't continue the lesson, so she quickly evacuated everyone. I thought you might still be looking for clues in the cabin, and with this incident occurring in the classroom, everyone else had gone back. I was worried something might happen to you, so I came straight here. 0

When I arrived, I found the cabin door was closed. I thought to myself, no way would you be foolish enough to close the door behind you after going inside, so I assumed something must have happened to you. I hurriedly tried to open the door. 0

But when I did, I realized that the wooden door wouldn't budge. I panicked, thinking you might have encountered something inside or that a ghost might have attacked you. So I shouted for you, but after calling for a while without any response, my voice was almost hoarse." 0

Hearing this, Jiang Liu noticed that Wang Chao's voice sounded a bit hoarse as well. He hadn't paid attention to it earlier because his mind was elsewhere. Now that he noticed, Jiang Liu felt he should express his gratitude. After all, if Wang Chao hadn't come over suddenly, he might have really ended up dead in that cabin, lost to everyone's memory. 0

Seeing Jiang Liu thank him, Wang Chao waved his hand dismissively. "Anyone would have done the same in this situation. In this supernatural event, it's just the two of us; I wouldn't want anything to happen to you and be left all alone." 0

"Even so, I still need to thank you. If it weren't for you opening the door at the last moment, I might have really died in there." 0

"By the way, what exactly happened inside? Why didn't you respond when I was shouting outside?" 0

Jiang Liu shook his head and replied, "What I saw in there was quite strange. Looking back now, it felt like a reenactment of the old man's death from last night." 0

"A reenactment of a death scene?" Wang Chao asked in surprise. "What does that mean?" 0

"What do you think?" 0

Jiang Liu wasn't sure how to explain everything he experienced in the cabin to Wang Chao; some things felt odd even now as he thought about them. After pondering for a moment, he began recounting his experience. 0

Once Jiang Liu finished speaking, Wang Chao looked at him with a shocked expression. It took several seconds before he said, "I initially thought my experience was already quite thrilling. Now hearing yours, I've realized that what I went through was relatively mild." 0

After expressing his astonishment, Wang Chao looked at Jiang Liu again. "But I still admire how you handled it. If it were me, I probably would have panicked right from the start." 0

Jiang Liu smiled at Wang Chao's compliment but didn't say anything in response. After a few seconds of silence, Wang Chao asked, "So what should we do now? We've both received warnings; if we continue down this path, we could be in real danger." 0

"No, I actually think that this warning from the ghost has another implication!" Jiang Liu countered. 0

"Oh? What do you mean?" 0

"I have a question for you. If someone is investigating something that is completely opposite to what you are doing, what would you do?" Jiang Liu suddenly asked Wang Chao. 0

Wang Chao pondered for a moment before replying, "If it's completely opposite to what I'm doing, then I definitely wouldn't pay any attention to it." 0

"What if it aligns with what you're doing?" Jiang Liu asked again. 0

"Then I would definitely issue a warning." Wang Chao looked at Jiang Liu in surprise, clearly understanding the crux of Jiang Liu's question: "You're saying that because the direction we are investigating is correct, the ghost is warning us. Otherwise, the ghost could simply ignore us and let us continue until we inevitably meet our demise!" 0

"Exactly. So we need to keep investigating. Now that we know the direction, we must continue down this path. If we stop, we will only face death." 0

"So what's next?" 0

"The data room. The data room you mentioned earlier is the direction we need to investigate next. I have a feeling it will contain what we need!" 0

Jiang Liu gazed at the dormitory appearing in the distance and thought to himself: I will survive! 0
