Horror Chapter
The loud bang of the door closing startled Jiang Liu.
Turning around, he was shocked to see that the door of the wooden cabin had somehow closed!
This truly frightened Jiang Liu. He hurried to the door, trying to open it, but found it completely unyielding. At that moment, he felt a surge of frustration and a hint of doubt: Why was this happening? Wasn't it still too early for class to be over? Had he miscalculated?
Just as Jiang Liu struggled to open the door, the lights inside the cabin suddenly flickered on, and at the same time, he felt a chill creeping up his back.
His muscles tensed up, and he turned his head mechanically.
What greeted him was the bloody corpse of the old man, who had long since vanished. The once clean walls were now marred by dark streaks of blood that had appeared out of nowhere. Chunks of flesh lay scattered on the floor.
What the hell is going on!?
Jiang Liu roared in his mind. Thankfully, due to his previous experiences at the Otherworld Hotel, he managed to keep his composure.
He quickly calmed down and began to observe the supernatural phenomena occurring within the cabin. Fortunately, aside from suddenly reverting back to the morning's scene, nothing else seemed to happen.
After waiting for a while without witnessing any further events, Jiang Liu's mood began to settle, and his courage gradually grew. He slowly approached the old man's corpse.
Humans are indeed a terrifying species; while one might feel fear upon encountering a bloody scene for the first time, repeated exposure leads to desensitization.
Just like Jiang Liu at this moment, facing the horrific state of the old man's body. He was no longer retching as he had been when he first saw this scene earlier in the day.
Jiang Liu found himself less than three meters away from the old man's corpse, yet that short distance took him a full five or six minutes to traverse. When he reached within a meter of the body, he stopped. Right in front of him was a rocking chair, blocking his path forward. He had no choice but to halt and carefully observe the old man's corpse.
After observing from a distance, Jiang Liu finally realized that the old man's body had very little flesh left. However, this observation revealed something unsettling to him.
The flesh on the old man's skeleton was vividly red, as if he had just died not long ago. Normally, the blood splattered on the surrounding walls would have darkened by now, so it was impossible for the flesh on the skeleton to still appear as fresh as it did.
That wasn't even the most alarming part; what truly unsettled Jiang Liu was that despite the vibrant flesh on the old man's body, not a single drop of blood had dripped down. It was as if the blood was stored within every piece of flesh. This resulted in each piece of flesh connected to the skeleton appearing unnaturally bright red.
Creak.
Just as Jiang Liu was examining the old man's corpse, the rocking chair in front of him suddenly emitted a creaking sound. To his horror, the rocking chair began to sway on its own!
Jiang Liu was so frightened that he stumbled backward until he reached the door and could retreat no further.
The rocking chair started to sway slowly, its rhythm resembling that of an invisible old man rocking back and forth. Not long after, a soft thud came from beside him as the wooden door made a faint noise, almost like someone was gently closing it.
Although the sound was quiet, it startled Jiang Liu, who nervously stared at the door. After just a few seconds, he was struck by a terrifying realization that made his heart feel like it had stopped for several beats.
It turned out that shortly after the door made its soft sound, a footprint suddenly appeared on the floor in front of it. The outline of the footprint was marked in blood, sending chills down his spine. If it were anyone else, they might have fainted at the sight; however, having experienced several supernatural events before, Jiang Liu knew he couldn't panic. He forced himself to stay calm and focused on observing the bloody footprint.
The bloody footprint led into the room, suggesting that someone had walked back inside. When it reached in front of the rocking chair in the middle of the room, it suddenly stopped as if pausing.
Then, without warning, the previously gently swaying rocking chair seemed to have someone sit down on it. It paused for a second before beginning to rock violently!
Seeing the rocking chair shake violently made Jiang Liu's heart sink. He quietly began to move toward the door while keeping his hands behind his back and nervously twisting the doorknob. Even though there was no one else in the room besides him and that terrifying corpse, he still dared not make any sudden movements.
After twisting for a while, the door remained completely still.
The rocking chair continued to shake violently for a brief moment before abruptly stopping. Jiang Liu stared at the suddenly still rocking chair in confusion. However, before he could comprehend what was happening, the corpse hanging from the rocking chair began to tremble unexpectedly.
Can you imagine a corpse, barely holding any flesh, suddenly twitching, and then blood pouring down from the skeleton as if it were free-flowing, splattering against the walls around?
When the corpse first appeared, Jiang Liu's heart was already taut with tension. As the body began to shake violently and bleed, he could no longer maintain his composure. He exerted all his strength to twist the doorknob, but his gaze remained fixed on the twitching corpse.
The horrifying scene inside the room continued for about three or four minutes until the once violently shaking body finally came to a stop. The room fell silent again. Just when Jiang Liu thought everything had ended, the elderly head on the corpse's neck, which had remained intact, suddenly opened its tightly shut eyes!
A pair of dark eye sockets met Jiang Liu's gaze. Although there were no eyeballs in the old man's sockets, Jiang Liu felt as if the corpse was staring intently at him!
The two of them maintained a silent eye contact, and even Jiang Liu's hand, which was still twisting the doorknob, froze in place.
Suddenly, Jiang Liu noticed that the old man's pale lips began to move as if forming words. However, before he could discern what was being said, the old man's mouth opened wide—far beyond what any normal person could achieve!
Then, an extremely venomous female voice emerged from the old man's mouth.
"You will all die!"
Upon hearing that sinister voice, every hair on Jiang Liu's body stood on end as an overwhelming fear enveloped him.
Just when Jiang Liu thought he was destined to die in that room, he suddenly felt emptiness behind him; it was as if the door had swung open by itself. Since Jiang Liu had leaned all his weight against it earlier, when the door moved away, he lost control and fell backward.
