“Master Chen, what are you still worried about? It's already like this,” I said sympathetically as I looked at Liu Bi. Deep down, I knew that Liu Bi was merely pinned down; it wasn't as if there was significant damage. If there were truly serious injuries, Master Chen wouldn't be treating it so lightly. 0

I understood this, and Master Chen surely did too. The reason I said it was simply to buy some time. 0

Master Chen chuckled, “It seems you really think I'm foolish. Do you think I can't see that its strength hasn't diminished much?” 0

I feigned disappointment and slowly began to move toward them. 0

“Stop right there! What do you think you're doing? If you take another step, I'll have them kill you, even if you burn that umbrella,” Master Chen warned sharply. 0

I quickly replied, “Alright, alright, I won't move. Master Chen, I know your style; even if I give you the umbrella, you won't let it go, right?” 0

Master Chen's expression darkened. Clearly, he had the same intention, and now that I had called him out on it, he was more cautious, fearing that I might take drastic measures. He said, “If you can guarantee that you won't come back for the umbrella in the future, I can let it go.” 0

“Then... we promise not to come back for the umbrella. How can you guarantee that you'll let it go?” I asked with confusion. 0

Master Chen replied, “You should first consider how you can ensure that you won't return for the umbrella.” 0

I chuckled lightly and said, “How about this? Let's sign a contract.” I started to perform Tai Chi, saying anything nonsensical just to stall for time until the police arrived. 0

Master Chen laughed again and said, “You really are a young hothead. Just give me the umbrella; it's getting late.” 0

I cursed inwardly at how slow the police were. It had been so long without any sign of them. After thinking for a moment, I spoke to Master Chen again: “Master Chen, I'll take the umbrella and escort you away. Once you're far enough, I'll hand over the umbrella and then come back to rescue Liu Bi. How does that sound?” 0

Master Chen pondered for a moment before responding, “Alright, hand me the umbrella.” 0

"No, that's not safe. Let me think for a moment; give me some time, and I'll come up with a solution that works for both sides," I said slowly. 0

Master Chen replied, "You have three minutes. If you can't come up with anything, we'll go with what you just suggested. Honestly, I think your idea is quite good." 0

Hearing the three-minute deadline filled me with a sense of joy. My eyes darted around as I slowly backed away until I reached the door. I stepped one foot outside but paused. It was natural to retreat like this; when someone is deep in thought, they tend to lower their guard. To prevent any surprise attacks, it was definitely better to take a couple of steps back. 0

Half of my body was out the door when I suddenly heard some movement in the hallway, as if someone was walking upstairs. The sound was very faint; if I hadn't been listening closely, I might not have noticed it at all. 0

I felt a surge of excitement; it had to be the Drug Enforcement Team's detectives arriving. I immediately shouted, "Boss Chen, please let my friend go! He's innocent!" 0

This statement left Master Chen momentarily stunned, and he asked in confusion, "What did you say?" 0

"Boss Chen, you can't be too ruthless. If you push me too far, I'll call the police," I continued to shout. At that moment, I sensed two men emerging from the hallway. 0

"Are you the informant?" One of the detectives had approached me and asked in a voice barely audible. 0

I nodded subtly, and inside, Master Chen laughed heartily and said, "Don't kid yourself; the police can't do anything about us. Time's running out; hand over the stuff." 0

Seeing Master Chen's smug expression made me even happier. Casually, I tossed the umbrella behind me and directly dropped it from the fourth floor. I had already scouted that area; below was a wasteland with no exits. Even if there were police guarding below, they wouldn't be at that spot. 0

"Damn it, grab that kid!" Master Chen suddenly jumped up from his chair and quickly walked toward me. 0

At that moment when I threw the umbrella, I dashed back into the room. I believed that the detectives behind me wouldn't just stand by. Just as I took two steps forward, two thugs blocked my path. Before they could fully restrain me, I heard a loud shout from behind: "Everyone freeze! Police! Don't move!" 0

Upon hearing that the police had arrived, the two thugs quickly released me and crouched down on the ground. I took a couple of steps to Liu Bi's side. Master Chen, realizing I was about to free Liu Bi, hurried over as well. However, given his age, he couldn't stop me. 0

I walked over and kicked apart the ordinary Soul-Trapping Formation, then swiftly reached out to pull away the long Peach Wood Nails and several talismans that were pinning Liu Bi down. Liu Bi understood immediately; with a shudder, it transformed into a gust of cold wind and blew out through the window. 0

Liu Bi had already grasped what was happening before the police entered, which is why it showed no reaction when I tossed my umbrella. I believed only I could see it. Master Chen might not even be able to see it unless he kept his eyes open constantly, which was unrealistic. If Master Chen couldn’t see it, there was no way anyone else could. 0

Four detectives entered the room, and upon their arrival, the thugs dared not move. Seeing that I had removed everything, Master Chen wore a helpless expression; he knew Liu Bi had escaped. He glared at me angrily and said, “You disgrace of the profession, you actually called the police.” 0

I remained silent as the lead detective spoke up, “Why can’t he call the police? You’re gathered here using drugs; is there something wrong with reporting it?” 0

The detective spoke fluent Cantonese, his tone very stern. 0

Master Chen retorted angrily, “We’re not using drugs; don’t slander us.” 0

“Put your hands on your head and squat down while we talk,” the detective said seriously. He then kicked a syringe on the floor and added, “If you’re not using drugs, then what’s this syringe doing here?” 0

“Damn,” Master Chen glared at the syringe on the ground and shot me a look. 0

The other detectives were busy searching the thugs. Only the lead detective rushed over and pinned Master Chen to the ground, saying, “Are you still trying to intimidate us?” 0

Master Chen fell silent, and I didn’t speak either. I stood by the bed looking out the window; someone holding an umbrella had quietly walked away. Since they had an umbrella, they transformed back into their true form without hesitation and walked boldly down the street, blending seamlessly into the crowd. A wave of relief washed over me; as long as they left, everything would be fine. 0

Turning back to look at those thugs being searched by the detectives, I felt a mix of emotions—what a difference a moment makes! At the same time, I silently prayed that if they found any drugs on them, perhaps I could still earn some merit from this situation. 0

However, what happened next left me feeling quite disappointed. I couldn't help but look down on them for not being competent thugs, as the detectives searched everyone and found no drugs. With each declaration of "no drugs" that echoed in the air, I thought it might be time for me to confess. 0

The lead officer released his grip on Master Chen and picked up a syringe from the ground. He examined it, even symbolically sniffed it, and muttered to himself, "Why is this syringe new?" 0

"Officer, we haven't used drugs. That syringe was thrown here by that kid. You police need to provide evidence when you do your job; if you slander us, we can sue you," Master Chen declared. As soon as he spoke, the other thugs chimed in, "Yeah, that's right!" 0

The lead detective sternly replied, "Quiet down! I didn't ask you to speak; all of you need to be silent." After saying that, he turned to me with a puzzled expression and asked, "Hello, you reported that they were using drugs in a group, but there are no signs of any drugs here. Do you have anything to say?" 0

I scratched my head and said, "I'm sorry, officer. I lied; I didn't actually see them using drugs. I just suspected it. However, officer, you can take them all back for questioning. Meeting at this hour in a place like this can't be good—this is a demolition area." 0

"Stop messing around; we know how to do our jobs without your input. We'll take them all back for questioning, and you need to come with us to give a statement," the officer said, clearly annoyed and not holding back his displeasure toward me. 0

"Alright, alright! I will cooperate. Supporting the People's Police is our duty as citizens," I said with a grin while looking at Master Chen still lying on the ground, feeling a wave of satisfaction wash over me—it was particularly gratifying. 0
