New Story
Many people are keen on fortune-telling, often commenting on free fortune-telling posts, seeking insights into their destinies, yet they become increasingly confused. In reality, those free fortune-telling services cannot genuinely provide you with a thorough reading; most offer vague responses just to promote themselves. Many of the so-called fortune-tellers online are opportunists aiming to swindle money. Most people do not even understand their own fate, let alone how to change it. Those who take fortune-telling seriously often find themselves in a worse situation after paying for it, left without clarity on what to do next.
I have read some fortune-telling posts and even calculated based on the Birth Date and Time provided by commenters. In the end, I found that my results differed greatly from those given by the Host. The Host usually responded with ominous predictions, prompting users to ask for changes. Then the Host would suggest private messaging. The outcome of these private chats was typically a request for payment for charms or some feng shui items to help avert disasters, or a consultation fee for sharing methods. They rarely turned down any requests, which seemed like fishing with empty hands—an inept approach. Moreover, many of these posts came from well-known websites with high click rates.
Initially, I was puzzled by how many requests the Host could handle daily. Fortune-telling is a demanding practice; those who truly rely on it as a profession must strictly control the number of readings they perform because overdoing it can negatively impact their own fortunes. After reviewing the results provided by the Host, I realized they were merely fabrications—ignorant nonsense that could ultimately harm others and would eventually backfire on themselves.
A genuine fortune-teller, after providing a reading, needs to use their methods to alleviate any karmic burdens incurred. To put it simply, it's akin to donating blood; doing so every three months or six months poses no harm as your body can adjust and recover. However, donating every day will inevitably lead to exhaustion. Of course, professional fortune-tellers do not operate at such frequencies; I am merely making an analogy.
Once upon a time, I believed I had gained some insights into interpreting Birth Date and Time, so I helped a few friends in real life without charge and even attempted to alter their fortunes. However, I later realized that helping others change their fortunes was essentially borrowing my own luck without compensation. Without taking measures to remedy my own situation, this led to a significant downturn in my own fortunes during that period—everything seemed to go wrong. For instance, when I bought a dozen eggs only to find them all spoiled and rotten upon opening, yet when I returned to the store and tested another batch from the same production line, none were bad.
Both energy and luck are finite resources. Take me as an example: engaging in activities related to Spirit God and feng shui inherently involves greater karmic burdens than ordinary professions. If I were to frequently engage in altering fortunes through Birth Date and Time readings, it would deplete my limited energy and luck until I could no longer bear the consequences.
Once someone asked me if I was a Taoist; I affirmed that I was. He then questioned how I could prove my authenticity. All I could say was: "No proof is needed." He continued, "My luck is low; if you help me turn it around, I'll believe you're a true Taoist."
I asked him why he felt it necessary for me to prove my authenticity as a Taoist.
He replied that he wanted help because of his poor luck and assumed that if I were indeed a Taoist, I should assist him since all Taoists are supposed to be compassionate and dedicated to saving all beings.
His words seemed somewhat off-topic; he appeared aware that whether he believed in my status as a Taoist held no significance for me, yet he placed the burden of compassion upon me. Frankly speaking, I found such sentiments distasteful—he is himself, and I am myself. We coexist in this world as two independent entities. I have no obligation to change his fate, nor does he have the right to demand that of me. I am neither Guanyin nor Sakyamuni; I am just a humble Taoist trying to live for myself—that's all there is to it.
I told him plainly, "I'm sorry; I do not perform readings based on Birth Date and Time."
He then asked, "Why aren't you a Taoist? What reason do you have for not helping me?"
I countered, "What reason do you have for me to help you? What have you done for others?"
His response left him momentarily speechless. In this world, everyone needs help from others, no matter how powerful they may be. All help and the receiving of help are balanced; I help you, you help him, and he helps me. It is through the continuous acts of kindness from some that others receive ongoing assistance. However, no one can benefit without giving something in return. Some people constantly take without offering anything in exchange, and while they receive help, they also accumulate their own karmic burdens. These burdens must be repaid with interest, whether in life or after death. Therefore, it is important to maintain a kind heart and perform acts of kindness within our means. At least when we receive favors from others, we can do so with a clear conscience, knowing we have also contributed.
This digression may have been a bit lengthy and scattered. As long as everyone understands the underlying principle, that's enough.
At the end of 2013, shortly after dealing with the matter of the Senior Master, I had returned to Guangzhou about a month later. I remember that during that time my fortunes were quite poor; various business opportunities were not coming my way. Whether it was feng shui consultations or handling Ghostly Affairs, nothing was happening.
This forced me to start worrying about my livelihood. Aside from these activities, I had no other skills, which was quite a sad reality. Many people believed that with such abilities—abilities that ordinary people lack—I should be living comfortably. However, that was not the case; it was merely a difference in profession. I still needed food, clothing, and shelter; daily expenses were unavoidable.
Often, I envied those who could work nine to five in an office because it meant they had a steady income and did not have to worry about where their next meal would come from. Fortunately, my mindset was relatively stable; it wasn't about having a lot of money but having enough to get by. Moreover, I did not indulge in extravagance. Thus, my abilities were just sufficient to keep me free from financial worries.
In 2012, I took out a loan to buy an apartment here, which significantly increased my living pressure. I began to change myself; previously, I approached business casually—after completing a job, I would live a simple life for a while without much ambition. Ultimately, it boiled down to laziness. This was my greatest flaw; I used to lack a sense of crisis and thought having money to spend was enough. I never made an effort to save until taking on the mortgage made me realize I could no longer afford to be so lazy.
That period marked the lowest point in my business endeavors; I didn't know what bad luck had struck me. The most recent Ghostly Affair involved the Senior Master—the same one from my previous story. After much thought, could it be related to the Wandering Soul that my master accidentally dispersed in a moment of desperation?
The more I pondered this possibility, the more convinced I became that this incident stemmed from me and thus naturally resulted in retribution against me. With this realization in mind, I began thinking of ways to remedy the situation.
Since this involved Yin Debt, it needed to be repaid with Yin Debt as well. That night when I understood this clearly, I decisively packed my things and headed out into the wilderness to perform several Feeding the Hungry Ghosts rituals.
Feeding the Hungry Ghosts involves offering food—providing sustenance to beings on the Ghost Path. It is important to clarify that this is my personal method for repaying Yin Debt and is not suitable for ordinary people; therefore, there is no need to imitate it lest unnecessary troubles arise.
I performed a ritual called "Feeding the Hungry Ghosts," which is akin to a small ceremony. At midnight, I found a larger cemetery and set up an offering of rice at the largest crossroads surrounding it. I placed incense sticks in the rice and burned a significant amount of joss paper. This was done to provide for the wandering souls passing by, allowing them to travel more easily.
Last night, I had some work to do, and I was out in the afternoon, so my six o'clock update was delayed. I appreciate your understanding. There will be another update tonight; I'm working hard on it. Thank you to "New Summer" for the five diamonds, "Amber Insect" for the three diamonds, and "Taste 2015" for the ten flowers. Shoutout to the active members in the three subscription groups, haha.
