I had no idea what would happen when the remaining two Wandering Souls came into contact with the snakes crawling out of the coffin, but judging by my master's attitude, it couldn't be anything good. Sure enough, despite our efforts to fend them off, my master and I could only block six of the Wandering Souls. The four seniors around us continued chanting the Transcendence Spell without pause or distraction, leaving us to handle our own problems. 0

The incident occurred suddenly. Although my master and I tried our best to remedy the situation, an accident still happened. Two of the Wandering Souls lunged directly at two of the larger snakes, causing the other snakes to scatter in all directions. 0

Both Wandering Souls were dressed in Funeral Garments from their embalming, and judging by the length of their hair, one was male and the other female, both slender in build. 0

They almost collapsed onto the snakes, their bodies shaking violently as they did so. In just a second or two, they suddenly floated up, their expressions shifting from calm to ferocious, scanning their surroundings like wolves searching for prey. 0

Looking down at the two snakes, they lay belly-up, devoid of any life. 0

My master couldn't stop it in time. After witnessing the transformation of the two Wandering Souls, he hurried toward Master Pan's position. In that instant, I understood why—one of the Wandering Souls had already charged toward Master Pan, who was still reciting the Transcendence Spell, while the long-haired Female Spirit floated toward me. 0

Later on, I learned that these two Wandering Souls had absorbed the Yin Qi from the snakes. The snakes had been peacefully resting in their coffin until my master and I forcibly opened it, disturbing their tranquil existence. However, since snakes themselves lacked any vengeful capability, they now sought revenge through the Wandering Souls. 0

Having lived alongside a corpse for an extended period and within a coffin, snakes are cold-blooded creatures with no body heat; thus, they can endure a significant amount of Yin Qi. For the Wandering Souls, encountering a snake was akin to finding a large source of Yin Qi that posed no threat to them. Instinctively drawn to it, they gravitated toward the snakes. 0

My master was merely chanting a Soul Summoning Spell; he hadn't trapped or restrained them. Therefore, a large mass of harmless Yin Qi was far more enticing to them than the pull of his Soul Summoning Spell. 0

The sudden shift in intent from these two Wandering Souls to seek revenge against me and Master Pan was clearly something my master had anticipated. He wasted no time rushing over to assist in fending off one of the Wandering Souls. The Pentagram Soul Summoning Array had summoned souls as planned; initially, my master intended to chant alongside it to guide the Senior Master's spirit. However, with several Wandering Souls appearing unexpectedly, my master was forced to abandon that plan and switch to Soul Guiding instead. 0

Although he was only attempting to dispel the Senior Master's negative emotions—his resentment and hatred—the situation was already precarious with four people chanting for guidance. If Master Pan were interrupted again, it might lead the Senior Master to believe that our efforts were insufficient, potentially increasing his resentment instead of alleviating it. That would make things truly difficult to handle. 0

With my master supporting Master Pan, there should be no issues on that front. My focus now needed to be entirely on dealing with this transformed Wandering Soul that had absorbed both Yin Qi and hatred from the snake. Initially thinking it wouldn't be too strong, I quickly realized that things were far more complicated than I had anticipated once we engaged in battle. 0

The Female Spirit was already the strongest among the eight Wandering Souls, as its Soul was the most solidified. I had no idea how it had died, but there was a faint trace of Resentment surrounding it, suggesting that its death was not a peaceful one. Now, combined with the Yin Qi from the snake in the Yin Coffin, I found myself struggling to deal with it. 0

Unlike other Spirit Gods, its method of attack was different. It floated for a moment before suddenly dropping to the ground and quickly slithering toward me. Its movements resembled that of a snake, instilling a sense of dread. 0

Despite this, I felt an intense focus and tension. I was certain it wasn't just putting on a show for me. As it crawled closer, it brushed against one of the Wandering Souls that I had pinned down with a Soul Binding Talisman. Suddenly, that Wandering Soul shuddered and stood up, turning to chase after another snake that had crawled away. 0

Panic surged within me; I realized another Wandering Soul was about to transform. 0

Before the Female Spirit reached my feet, I quickly stepped back on my Gangbu and recited an incantation while swiftly reaching into my Cloth Bag to grab a handful of Cinnabar Ash. 0

As I retreated on the Gangbu while chanting the spell, invisible barriers began to form from where I started. These barriers could block ordinary Yin Qi spirits. I calculated my options: if the Gangbu didn't work, I would throw the Cinnabar Ash. If that failed too, I'd resort to using the Soul Binding Talisman against it; if all else failed, I'd have to stall until my master arrived to help. 0

However, things rarely unfold as one imagines. Just as I finished stepping back on the Gangbu, it reached my position in an instant—just a brief pause of mere seconds—and continued crawling toward me as if there were no barriers at all. 0

Seeing the danger, I threw the Cinnabar Ash at the approaching Female Spirit. The moment it touched its Soul, the ash emitted a sizzling sound and turned its Soul a faint red. Yet it merely shuddered slightly and slowed down a bit without stopping. Resolute now, I realized there was no retreat left for me. With determination, I turned and chanted the Exorcism Spell as I charged toward it. The combination of the Exorcism Spell and the Soul Binding Talisman was formidable; just as my hand holding the talisman reached out to touch it, it suddenly lifted its upper body and lunged at me. 0

I swung at empty air; it was as flexible as a snake, hooking my knee with its body before suddenly going limp and wrapping around me. This was not an attack from a Spirit God; it was clearly a hunting technique of a snake. 0

As its body coiled around mine, I felt my lower body lose all strength and stability. A wave of weakness surged from my feet upwards, rendering my lower half numb as if under anesthesia. My balance faltered completely, and I fell backward. Fortunately, behind me lay a patch of grass without any sharp stones. 0

Even so, falling onto grass would still hurt; my head struck the ground with a thud, ringing in my ears while my lower back landed on a small protruding stone. The pain jolted some awareness back into me. Instinctively, I raised my right hand and struck down hard onto the head of the Female Spirit coiled around me—it happened to be positioned right at my chest. 0

The blow landed solidly; I could even feel tingling in my right hand from the impact. At that moment, it proved effective—the constricting force around me suddenly lessened significantly as it gradually loosened its grip and rolled about a meter away to my right side. 0

I regained my mobility and quickly stood up, looking at the Female Spirit slowly writhing on the ground. I took out a piece of Ink Fight Line and swiftly drew a Hand Spell on it. Then I rushed over and pressed my knee against its back. The Ink Fight Line wrapped around its head, tightly constricting its neck. Without any pause, I quickly tied a knot in the Ink Fight Line, pulling it tight with my left hand. With my right hand, I pulled out a Soul Binding Talisman and began striking its left rear side repeatedly. 0

As the saying goes, when striking a snake, aim for its seven inches. This seven inches does not refer to length but rather to the location of the snake's Heart. Although it wasn't a snake now, it inherited the vengeful spirit of one, so I treated it as such. I couldn't hit its chest from this angle, so I focused on pounding its back near the Heart. 0

After striking seven times, I noticed it starting to convulse. I quickly withdrew my hand; those Yin Qi should have been fully consumed by now. If I continued, I feared it would lead to dire consequences. Standing up, I intended to check on my master when I saw another Wandering Soul approaching me from the left. Compared to the one I had just subdued, this one moved more slowly. However, even at that slower pace, I felt utterly incapable of dealing with it. Just as despair began to set in, a Great Seal came crashing down from nearby, landing directly on the head of the Wandering Soul that was heading toward me. 0

Turning my head, I saw my master standing not far away, calmly watching the Wandering Soul that had been struck. He said, "Are you alright?" 0
