Chen Yi gently pushed open the door and carefully walked out of the room. The location he was in connected to a narrow corridor, with several closed doors on the opposite side, each possibly hiding a new story behind it. In the middle, there was a seemingly ordinary restroom, with its door slightly ajar, revealing a trace of everyday life.
Next to the corridor was a pair of quaint wooden stairs, one leading upstairs and the other leading downstairs. Chen Yi stood at the stairway, pondered for a moment, and ultimately decided to explore the space downstairs first. His body still felt weak, but hunger drove him to carefully take steps and slowly descend the stairs.
The stairs are made of ancient wood, and each step produces creaking sounds. These sounds are like the groans of aging wood, each one telling the history of the stairs and the weight they have borne. Chen Yi treads carefully, afraid that too much force will cause the fragile stairs to collapse.
Chen Yi continues carefully down the creaking stairs and eventually reaches the second floor of the house. As he approaches the second floor, the music and deep bass sounds from below become clearer and louder. These sounds reverberate in the stairwell, adding a touch of vitality and modernity to this ancient building.
The layout of the second floor is similar to the third floor, but Chen Yi immediately noticed several differences. The environment here looks cleaner and tidier, with more signs of human activity and a sense of life compared to the third floor. The decorations on the walls are more tasteful, and every piece of furniture is placed just right, showing the pursuit of a higher quality of life by the residents of this floor.
As Chen Yi walks, he can feel a different atmosphere in the air here. Every corner of the second floor exudes a lively and warm feeling. Here, although time still quietly passes, the pulse of life seems stronger, and every detail tells the story and emotions of the residents.
Chen Yi Strolling on the second floor, each step brought him closer to the music and voices coming from the ground floor. His curiosity was drawn to this unknown floor, and he was filled with anticipation for the new discoveries that awaited him. In this new environment, every discovery could be a clue to understanding this mysterious place, and every corner could hide a new story.
Continuing down the stairs step by step, Chen Yi finally arrived at the last few steps leading to the first floor. The stairwell here was separated by a door, evidently to maintain the security and privacy of the upstairs private space, preventing guests or outsiders from inadvertently intruding. Chen Yi stood in front of the door, gently placed his hand on the handle, took a deep breath, and slowly pushed the door open.
As the door opens, a bar space filled with atmosphere comes into view. The dim lighting and the various bottles displayed on the wall create a comfortable and secretive feeling. In front of the bar, there are various exquisite barware and drinks, showing the professionalism and taste of the place.
There are many customers in the bar, scattered around the bar area and the surrounding seats. Some are leisurely tasting the crafted drinks, while others are immersed in pleasant conversations. The atmosphere is both relaxed and friendly, as if this is a harbor in the city to relax and unwind.
Behind the bar, a man is busy at work. He is dressed in an elegant suit and vest, skillfully mixing various drinks. His movements are smooth and graceful, filled with professionalism and artistry with every shake of the shaker or pour of the drink. His focus and expertise seem to enliven the surrounding air.
Chen Yi stands at the entrance of the bar, drawn to the unique atmosphere. His eyes wander between the bar, the patrons, and the decorations, seemingly trying to absorb every detail of this new environment. However, the bandages on his body and his obvious injuries quickly attract curious glances from the patrons at the bar. They exchange puzzled looks, as if pondering who this suddenly injured person is and how he came to be here.
The bartender also sensed the unusual atmosphere and turned his head, his gaze falling on Chen Yi. Their eyes met, and Chen Yi immediately recognized the bartender as the middle-aged man he had bumped into in the alley before, the one who had brought him to this place.
At that moment, the young woman whom Chen Yi had seen in his room before suddenly appeared behind him. Her movements were swift and decisive, holding a tray in her hand, apparently just busy serving the bar's customers. She placed the tray on the bar and then reached out to grab Chen Yi, seeming somewhat urgent.
"Come, follow me." The woman's voice carried an unmistakable determination as she firmly grasped Chen Yi's arm, guiding him towards the back kitchen area of the bar. She seemed somewhat displeased with Chen Yi's appearance, perhaps because he was running around despite his injuries.
In a secluded corner of the back kitchen, the young woman roughly pulled Chen Yi to a quiet, empty spot. Various ingredients were stacked around them, from fresh vegetables to a variety of meats, indicating that this bar placed great emphasis on the quality of its food in addition to its drinks. Simple yet practical cooking tools were neatly arranged on the workbench, exuding an atmosphere of diligence and professionalism.
The woman's face was filled with anger as she looked at Chen Yi, her brows furrowed in obvious disapproval of his actions. "How did you come down from upstairs to here?" Her voice carried clear reproach and concern, as if she was worried that Chen Yi's injuries would worsen due to improper activity.
Chen Yi felt the woman's anger and awkwardly lowered his head. A hint of embarrassment appeared on his face as he softly replied, "Because I was very hungry." His voice revealed a sense of helplessness and shame, as if his behavior was somewhat inappropriate.
After hearing Chen Yi's response, the woman seemed somewhat resigned, but her expression softened slightly.
