After finishing up with their morning routines and packing their things, they headed straight to Master Pan's room, where the master had just arrived at the door. After exchanging greetings, they entered Master Pan's room together. To save time, Master Xiao had already brought breakfast. The four of them began to eat while chatting. 0

"Old Pan, you didn't mention this last night during dinner. What do you think of Master Li?" the master was the first to bring up the topic. 0

Master Pan took a sip of porridge and casually replied, "There's something off. As a skilled Gu Master, he wouldn't be so careless. He can't possibly be unaware that the insect needs to be dealt with promptly, and he certainly knows that leaving it in Xiao Liu's room would cause trouble." 0

Just as I suspected, my thoughts were not far off. The two masters were discussing this matter, likely because Master Xiao had already informed them about last night's events. I spoke up, "Exactly, and after Master Xiao left last night, I started experiencing New Sleep Nightmare. Do you think it could still be related to that Insect of Sorcery?" 0

The master shook his head and said, "No, New Sleep Nightmare is related to your experiences and has nothing to do with the insect. The insect cannot control a person's dreams. That's quite normal. Did you notice anything unusual when you went to that place yesterday?" The master looked at me after speaking. 0

I replied, "When we went yesterday, everything seemed ordinary. Xiaorou said I must have touched that copper lock and then washed my hands in the water tank on the side of the house, which is how I got infected by that Water Bug." 0

"What lock? Was that door locked?" the master asked in confusion. 0

I explained, "That Tsuchiya has two rooms; one of them is locked with a copper lock. The lock felt strange; it was ice-cold when I touched it. It shouldn't be that cold at this time of year." 0

"What a broken lock! We'll just smash it when we get there," Master Xiao interjected. 0

"We thought about smashing it too, but Brother Zhou said it might be a place used by farmers for storage, so we didn't go through with it," I clarified. 0

Master Pan finished his bowl of porridge and said, "Let's not discuss this any further; we'll check it out ourselves first. Xiao, has your car arrived?" 0

"It should be downstairs," Master Xiao replied. 0

"Alright then, let's go." After saying this, Master Pan stood up, carrying a Cosmic Bag similar to Master Xiao's. The four of them exited the room and made their way downstairs to the hotel lobby, where a van driver was already waiting for them. 0

"I'll go to Alliance Village," I said to the driver as I took the passenger seat. My master had been there before, but he went at night and spent the whole trip chatting with Master Zhang, so he didn't remember the route. I went during the day and made sure to note the location of Tsuchiya's mountain and the path leading up. 0

It was nearly six o'clock, and the eastern sky was beginning to lighten. In the car, I asked my master, "Master, why are we going so early?" 0

He chuckled and replied, "If Master Li is deliberately trying to mess with you, then he knows we're going to work tonight. So he will definitely try to come up with a countermeasure quickly. Last night, Old Pan and I took turns drinking with him and hinted that we would check things out this afternoon. So he probably didn't have the energy to do anything about it last night. If he wanted to act, he should have done it this morning. By getting there first, we can assess the situation and prepare." 0

What a cunning old fox! From the moment I sent my master a text, they had already begun their preparations. Indeed, experience speaks volumes. 0

Master Xiao nodded thoughtfully and said, "Right, right, right." 0

I laughed and replied, "You understood that?" 0

"How could I not? That old man Li is deliberately messing with you. We'll set a trap for him and take him out," Master Xiao said nonchalantly. This startled the van driver, who kept glancing at the rearview mirror. 0

"Don't talk nonsense; this is just speculation. Who are you planning to take out?" Master Pan said sternly. "Little Brat, if you keep talking like that, next time you go out, you'll stay home obediently." 0

... 0

To keep the driver at ease while driving, we decided not to continue that conversation. Master Xiao lowered his head obediently like a child who had done something wrong. I felt a bit guilty for inadvertently digging a hole for him; Master Xiao jumped right in and ended up getting scolded by Master Pan. 0

When we reached the foot of the mountain, dawn had broken. The crisp sound of birds chirping filled the air, refreshing our spirits. The rural air was delightful; everywhere was vibrant with spring greenery, and breathing in the rich oxygen invigorated us. After getting out of the car, I proactively settled the fare with the driver and left him my phone number, saying, "We'll call you when we come down; please come pick us up back to town." 0

The driver nodded repeatedly and said, "Okay. I'll be on my way now." With that, he quickly drove off. 0

Master Pan shot a glare at Master Xiao and said, "From now on, be mindful of your words when there are outsiders present. Xiao Liu, lead the way; we need to hurry up the mountain." 0

I nodded and replied, "The mountain path is difficult to navigate, so please be careful, both of you. Master Xiao, keep an eye on things from the back." 0

"Sure thing, no problem," Master Xiao chuckled and responded cheerfully. It seemed he had completely forgotten about the earlier reprimand from Master Pan. This was just how carefree Master Xiao was; he rarely worried about anything. 0

We traveled in silence, and by the time we reached Tsuchiya, the sky was already brightening, though the sun had yet to rise. Upon arriving in front of the Stone House, Master Xiao and Master Pan moved in perfect synchronization as they pulled out their Peach Wood Swords from their Heaven and Earth Bags. They each took out several talismans from their bags and began drawing Hand Spells on them. Once finished, they immediately started chanting the Open Eye Spell. After both of them shouted "Ha!" in unison, it signified that they had completed the opening of their eyes. 0

I was taken aback by their actions; were they really going in without fully understanding the situation? I couldn't help but wonder why Master Xiao was so bold and impulsive when handling matters. No matter what happened, he seemed to charge in without a second thought. It turned out this was something taught by Master Pan. Master Pan glanced at his master and said, "Old Xu, let's go in first." His master seemed to have adapted to Master Pan's approach and didn't say anything; he simply nodded and took out a few talismans with his left hand while gripping his Great Seal tightly in his right hand. 0

What was going on? This didn't seem to align with his usual style of handling things. What kind of routine was this? Well, whatever it was, I decided not to dwell on it too much; I would just follow along with my master. 0

Master Xiao led the way at the front, with Master Pan following behind him and my master closely trailing after. I brought up the rear as our unusual group entered the house during broad daylight. It looked particularly strange; thankfully, there were no people around who might think we were a bunch of lunatics. 0

However, upon reflection, even though it was daytime, the sun had yet to rise, so it was still possible for some lingering spirits to exist inside. We needed to take some necessary defensive measures. 0

Master Xiao arrived at a wooden door that wasn't locked and kicked it open without hesitation before darting inside. The moment he entered, he shouted loudly, "What the hell!" 0

Hearing that exclamation made everyone aware that something was amiss, prompting us to rush in after him. 0

Once inside, I carefully surveyed the room but found nothing unusual. Of course, since I hadn't opened my eyes yet, it was normal not to see anything; however, Master Pan had opened his eyes—how could he remain so calm? His expression showed no signs of concern. 0

"Master Xiao, what did you just shout?" I asked. 0

Master Xiao swallowed hard and said, "I just saw a row of Spirit Gods standing in this room, some even floating in the air. But they all disappeared after you came in." 0

"Were there about ten of them, and were some wearing old-fashioned clothes?" I asked in response. 0

"Yeah, how did you know? Damn, that scared me to death," Master Xiao replied, still shaken, as if this was the first time he had encountered such a scene. 0

Neither Master nor Master Pan spoke. Master quietly took out a compass and examined it closely, saying, "They're all in the next room. But the sun is coming up soon; we won't have time to collect them." 0

Master Pan nodded and said, "Then we'll talk about it tonight. Let's first see if there's anything unusual here." After finishing his sentence, he walked directly to the door with the copper lock and asked, "Is this the lock you're talking about?" 0

I nodded without speaking. I had a deep apprehension about this lock. According to Xiaorou, there was something wrong with it; my poisoning started from this very lock. 0

Master Pan poked at the copper lock with his Peach Wood Sword a few times before reaching into his Cosmic Bag. 0

The second update has arrived; good night to everyone. 0
