As she reached the word "leave," she cast a glance in my direction.
I was momentarily taken aback, my gaze shifting between the bright moon and the figure of Mu Yan in the void, finally resting on Grandma Jiang.
There was no denying that the title of Ghost King left me stunned.
When the dark cloud in midair took on the form of Mu Yan, I felt a shock; this version of Mu Yan seemed different from before.
However, I never expected that she had actually reached the level of Ghost King. How could that be possible in just a few days?
While I was shocked, it inevitably filled me with some concern.
The Ghost King—if Mu Yan truly was here to stir up trouble, then I would be powerless to stop her.
I couldn't help but wonder about Grandma Jiang's situation, which is why I turned my gaze back to her.
But the last word "leave" from the bright moon made me frown for a moment. Yet, it was just a fleeting frown; the next moment, a sharp pain shot through my head, and I quickly pushed those thoughts aside.
"Ghost King."
Grandma Jiang's eyes were fixed on Mu Yan in midair. Her long hair danced in the wind, her white robe fluttered, making a rustling sound. Coupled with her furious and fierce expression, it created a terrifying atmosphere.
Yet Grandma Jiang snorted coldly and said in a low voice, "Even if it's the Ghost King, today I will fight back."
As her voice fell, she glanced at me and then directly addressed Xiao Juan. "Xiao Juan, take this kid back inside."
"Grandma," Xiao Juan hesitated for a moment, clearly worried.
"Don't worry. Although the Ghost King is formidable, I still have some tricks up my sleeve," Grandma Jiang replied calmly.
Upon hearing this, Xiao Juan gritted her teeth and finally felt reassured. The Jiang Family belonged to the Taoist Nine Meridians as well; it would be impossible for Grandma Jiang not to have some hidden cards.
Thus, without further hesitation, Xiao Juan grabbed my hand and called out before turning to head back inside.
Mu Yan's arrival was clearly aimed at me. As long as I could be taken inside while Grandma Jiang held off Mu Yan outside, then in their eyes, even if Mu Yan was powerful, she would be futile if she couldn't break through Grandma Jiang's defense.
But just as she grabbed my hand, Mu Yan suddenly looked over, her expression changing instantly as she unleashed a gust of cold wind.
The breath escaped her lips, and that cold wind surged forth like a tornado, making it impossible to resist. In an instant, I was swept off my feet and blown outside the house.
Before I could even step inside, Mu Yan had sent me flying out, landing on the ground outside.
"Lin Hao!"
I lay on the ground, feeling a wave of pain throughout my body. Before I could get up, I heard Xiao Juan's startled voice coming from inside the house.
But in the next moment, my head suddenly rang with a loud thud, as if someone had struck me hard with a blunt object, and I collapsed to the ground.
Inside the house, Xiao Juan rushed out. Mingyue and Mao Shiba exchanged glances as if they had been waiting for this moment without any hesitation. The instant Xiao Juan dashed out, they followed right behind her.
Seeing this, Grandma Jiang let out a cold snort and whistled. A shadow flashed by and charged toward Mu Yan in mid-air.
Without any hesitation, Grandma Jiang summoned the Ghostly Gu Worm to entangle with Mu Yan.
Mu Yan's target was Lin Hao; clearly, she did not wish to linger. Although the Ghostly Gu Worm was formidable, it could not impede Mu Yan's advance.
However, Grandma Jiang did not rely solely on the Ghostly Gu Worm; she merely needed to buy some time.
At this moment, she calmly turned back into the house and soon emerged again, leisurely leaning on her cane.
In her hands was an ancient scroll that looked somewhat tattered but still appeared mostly intact.
It didn't seem particularly precious at first glance, yet Grandma Jiang held it like a treasure, carefully unfolding it and spreading it out before her.
Then she glanced at Mu Yan before lowering her head again. Her gaze fixed on the scroll in her hands as she began to recite a few lines of poetry from it slowly and deliberately.
"End."
First, Grandma Jiang pronounced the word "end," pausing slightly as her expression turned solemn. She looked up again at Mu Yan, who was still entangled with the Ghostly Gu Worm, seemingly unchanged.
Then she lowered her head once more and continued without stopping.
“Zhongnan Jinshi is skilled in martial arts, and Wild Charm Mountain excels in all aspects. Searching the fields also desires to follow the seasons, making sounds as if listening to a drum.” She spoke each word slowly.
What was surprising, however, was that it was merely a verse of poetry, nothing strange about it.
Yet every time she recited a line, characters formed in the void before her, floating there without dispersing or disappearing.
This poem consisted of four lines, and when Grandma Jiang finished reciting them, four lines of poetry had already appeared in the void, golden characters radiating dazzling light, drifting gently.
She suddenly looked up again at Mu Yan in mid-air and said softly, “Tang Dezong has a scholar named Zhong Kui, courtesy name Zhengnan.”
As her voice fell, she waved her hand casually, pointing towards Mu Yan in the air. The golden characters instantly seemed to come alive, floating toward the void and surrounding Mu Yan, encircling her completely.
Outside, Mao Shiba and Mingyue had just rushed out the door when they were momentarily stunned, quickly turning to look at Mu Yan, enveloped by clusters of golden characters.
Mingyue stood frozen in place, her delicate brows furrowed tightly.
However, Mao Shiba’s expression suddenly turned grim as he couldn’t help but exclaim in shock: “Tianyan Huigui Hunting Diagram.”
