I paused for a moment, then turned my gaze back to the Hu Family Immortal and asked lightly, "So it was you who saved me during the day?"
"Of course it was me. Who else could save you here?" she replied matter-of-factly.
I nodded. When I was unconscious, I had indeed seen a flash of colorful light rushing towards me. Just now, when the Hu Family Immortal emerged from the Swamp Python's mouth, she transformed into a similar burst of color.
The two were identical; who else could it be but the Hu Family Immortal?
So even though I felt an immense pressure facing this woman, I still bowed deeply to her and gratefully said, "Thank you for saving my life."
"Hmph, what are you thanking me for? It was just a matter of speaking; it didn't require much effort," she snorted coldly, seemingly dismissive.
I felt a wave of embarrassment wash over me, but knowing she was joking, I chose not to say more.
Mingyue and Mu Yan stood nearby. Now that the Swamp Python was dead, they seemed less tense and worried.
They silently watched the Hu Family Immortal.
The Hu Family Immortal glanced at them before her gaze fell back on me as she said lightly, "Since I'm helping you out, I'll also retrieve that Hundred-Year Lingzhi for you."
With that, she turned leisurely and walked straight to the edge of the cliff.
I frowned slightly and hurriedly followed her, standing by without speaking. Suddenly, she transformed into the form of a Nine-Tailed Fox and jumped down. Moments later, she returned with the Hundred-Year Lingzhi in her mouth, nimbly leaping back up and shifting back into human form to hand it to me.
I took it in a daze, unsure of what to say.
But then she surprised me again by saying, "Relax. You have the Yellow Cicada now. With this Giant Python Spine and Hundred-Year Lingzhi in your possession, all that's left is the Nine-Tailed Fox Blood."
She paused briefly before looking at me with a calm expression and softly asked, "Do you want it?"
I was taken aback and replied, "Want what?"
She chuckled and said, "Of course, it's my blood."
I quickly shook my head. Although I wanted it deep down, I certainly didn't have the guts to admit it.
Seeing my reaction, she said irritably, "You're being contradictory. Just say what you really want. If you don't want it, then This Immortal will leave. Don't regret it later."
I was at a loss for words and couldn't help but glance at her. Taking a deep breath to muster my courage, I thought that if I was going to die, then so be it. I said without hesitation, "I want it, of course I do. One of the reasons I came here is for Nine-Tailed Fox Blood, but I'm just too scared."
After saying that, my breathing became a bit rapid, my chest heaving violently as I stared at her, feeling almost suffocated.
Upon hearing this, she looked at me and couldn't help but let out a playful laugh. "Come on, if you want This Immortal, I'll give it to you."
I immediately felt relieved but muttered softly, "What do you mean 'come'? Just give me your blood directly."
Yet as I spoke, I found myself moving two steps closer to her, reducing the distance between us to just one step before stopping.
"Get a little closer."
But she kept her gaze fixed on me and said slowly once more.
Meeting her eyes made my breath quicken. For some reason, facing her always gave me a thrilling sensation.
Still trying to act brave, I took another step forward until we were standing face to face.
Her fiery gaze scrutinized me while my eyes inadvertently caught sight of the alluring curves of her chest—full and inviting like a pair of eager rabbits.
At that moment, a unique fragrance wafted from her body, making me feel dizzy and entranced.
"Look up," she said softly.
At her command, I couldn't help but raise my head and meet her gaze.
"Great Sage, what are you doing?" Mingyue asked with a hint of worry.
Mu Yan furrowed her brows tightly, her fists clenched, as if she were ready to step forward and intervene at any moment.
However, the expressions of the two did not seem to concern Hu Family Immortal at all. She merely said calmly, "Don't worry, I won't harm him."
As her voice fell, one hand, as smooth and white as mutton fat jade, gently lifted my chin.
At that moment, I felt as if I had been enchanted, with no thought of resistance. I allowed her to raise my chin effortlessly.
Then she bit down.
Her fiery lips instantly captured mine, plunging into a kiss and pulling my tongue into her mouth, holding it tightly.
"Let him go!"
Mu Yan rushed over in an instant but was casually swept aside by Hu Family Immortal's wave of power, crashing to the ground.
Mingyue quickly blocked Mu Yan, signaling her not to act impulsively. She furrowed her brows tightly as she scrutinized Hu Family Immortal.
Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain in my tongue, which cleared my mind significantly and sharpened my focus.
But when I looked up, I was startled to find myself pressed closely against Hu Family Immortal, who was kissing me.
I couldn't believe it; I thought perhaps I had acted impulsively in a moment of heat, which was why Hu Family Immortal had bitten my tongue.
As this thought crossed my mind, I struggled to pull away.
Yet Hu Family Immortal held onto my tongue firmly in her mouth and refused to let go.
The more I struggled, the more it hurt; I couldn't break free at all.
Her eyes were filled with laughter, her gaze like silk, and her expression playful and teasing.
I could hardly taste anything, only feeling the metallic tang of blood in my mouth and a searing pain that gradually numbed my tongue, blood flowing freely from my lips.
Suddenly, I found myself widening my eyes in surprise.
I felt a surge of warmth spreading from my mouth into my body, like a small stream running wildly within me.
I stared at her blankly, eyes wide open.
After a moment, she finally released her hot lips, but just as she did, she gently bit down on my lips one last time, seemingly with a hint of regret as she said, "Not bad, but too bad you're not a virgin."
I was instantly taken aback, looking at her in disbelief.
I truly had no idea how she could tell after just that brief kiss.
But I quickly stepped back, watching as she wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth, and I was somewhat shocked as I asked, "What are you doing?"
She shot me a glance and replied, "Of course I'm helping you."
"Is this how you help people?" I muttered in disbelief, glancing at the darkened faces of Mingyue and Mu Yan not far away.
She seemed unfazed and pointed at me leisurely, saying, "The Nine-Tailed Fox Blood is inside you. Don't you think I'm helping you?"
Her words left me momentarily stunned. "What do you mean?"
Even Mingyue and Mu Yan frowned slightly at this moment, their faces filled with confusion.
She let out a soft laugh and explained again, "I just bit our tongues and injected a drop of my essence blood into your body. It has merged with your own blood. So when you need it, you can simply draw from your own blood."
"Are you saying that my own blood can now be used to break the Demon King's Cauldron?" I asked in astonishment.
She said with an air of certainty, "That's only natural, and before long, your body will undergo some changes as well."
After saying this, a sly smile flashed across her face, and she transformed into a beam of colorful light, vanishing in an instant.
And just like that, she was gone, leaving the three of us standing there in stunned silence.
I was particularly taken aback, shocked by her last words.
Changes? Changes in what?
Could it be that I would turn into a fox?
Or something neither human nor beast?
Chapter One ends here.
