Gu Chen's words made the police officers across from us glare at him fiercely. The leading officer couldn't help but snort coldly, gripping our shoulders and pulling us toward Down the Mountain while saying, "What era are we in? You're still promoting superstition. Do you believe I’ll just take you straight to the station?"
"Promoting superstition."
At his words, Gu Chen let out a cold snort and replied with a heavy tone, "If you don’t believe me, why not give it a try? Once you start digging, someone among you might just have an accident tonight."
Zhou Zhen and I were also being dragged down the mountain by two police officers. Even Anfu, who was guarding the entrance of the ancient tomb, was pulled over by two officers.
Once those two officers reached Anfu, they directly reported to the leading officer, Xie Team, "There’s a deep pit over there that seems to be the entrance to a tomb. This kid was guarding it; I suspect they might be grave robbers."
"The entrance? Did you go in?" Xie Team asked with a slight frown.
The two officers holding Anfu quickly shook their heads. "No, it looks very deep and goes straight down; we were just guessing."
"Mm."
Xie Team nodded and then looked at Anfu and us, commanding, "Tell me, are you all in cahoots? Are you grave robbers?"
"You’re the grave robbers, pretending to excavate cultural relics," I couldn't help but retort.
"Xiao Lin, there's no need to waste your breath on them. People like this won't believe until they suffer a bit," Gu Chen said lightly, glancing at me.
Hearing this, I nodded. Since they didn’t believe what we said, if someone died tonight, it would be their own fault.
"Little brat, you've got quite the temper to bite back," Xie Team sneered while pointing at me.
Then he turned his gaze to Gu Chen and sternly said, "And you—at your age still spreading nonsense. It seems we have no choice but to take you all in."
With that, he waved his hand, and indeed had several officers cuff us with handcuffs.
Honestly, I had never worn these things in my life, especially not in such a manner. A thousand curses flashed through my mind.
Gu Chen and Zhou Zhen both let out a cold snort, but they did not struggle. As for Anfu, he merely glanced at Gu Chen, and then the police, who were speaking without hesitation, took us down the mountain.
Of course, they claimed they were going to take us to the police station, but at that moment, they didn't have the time for that. So they could only cuff us and assign a few people to watch over us.

However, seeing the joy on their faces did not bring us any happiness.

After finishing lunch at noon, they began digging. Two excavators rolled in, but the first place they chose to dig was not the tomb passage we had entered.

I furrowed my brow in confusion. Since it was discovered that this was an ancient tomb, why not enter directly from the entrance of the passage or dig from above? Why start digging from the side?

Gu Chen's words made me furrow my brow slightly. Looking in that direction, I felt like I recalled something.
