Chapter 160: Lurking (Part 2) 0

There were soft, stealthy sounds around the corner ahead, likely the result of someone being intercepted by Ming Junwei and then retreating. The light footsteps continued, seemingly unaware of Xiao Wei and his companion. The two held their breath, weapons ready, waiting for the intruder to reveal themselves. 0

"Hmm?" Xiao Wei frowned and whispered, "Something's not right." 0

"What?" Just as Jin Bo turned to ask, he caught a glimpse of a figure emerging from around the corner and instinctively threw his throwing knife. A scream echoed as the Bald Old Man collapsed to the ground with a thud. 0

"Damn it." Xiao Wei rushed over, and indeed, it was not one of the gunmen. The Red-Haired Woman was covering her mouth in terror, watching the old man clutching his wound and moaning in pain, her body trembling like a leaf. The corridor behind her was empty; none of the remaining gunmen were present. 0

"What are you doing out here!" Jin Bo cursed under his breath. He estimated that his throwing knife had taken half the old man's life. Although these two were technically enemies, they posed no real threat, and Jin Bo couldn't just kill them outright. 0

Xiao Wei was momentarily stunned by the situation as well. He gestured for Jin Bo to keep an eye on the two while he hurried down the passageway. 0

"I-I-I have the key... you didn't search me..." The Red-Haired Woman trembled as she pressed her hand against the old man's chest wound, but blood continued to flow uncontrollably. Jin Bo, with considerable strength, quickly threw another knife without aiming for a vital spot; though it didn't hit a critical area, it sank deep enough that it seemed unlikely the old man would survive. 0

Jin Bo felt both angry and anxious, momentarily thrown off balance. He worried about Xiao Wei and Ming Junwei but couldn't ignore the woman. Seeing the old man's breathing grow weaker, he resolutely grabbed her and started to pull her away. 0

"What's your name?" Jin Bo demanded. 0

"Summer Rain," she replied, her expression a mix of panic and numbness as she allowed Jin Bo to drag her along at speed until they reached the cell door. 0

"If you don't want to die, stay inside and don't come out!" Jin Bo feigned a fierce demeanor as he threatened her twice. Before she could react, he shoved her into the cell. Remembering something, he reached through the iron bars and rubbed his fingers together. "Give me the key." 0

Summer Rain had lost all will to resist and obediently handed over the key she had clenched in her palm. After hesitating for a moment, she added, "Maybe I can help you..." 0

"Hmm?" Jin Bo looked up at her with suspicion. "Help us?" 0

"Jin Bo!! One has gone past!!" Suddenly, Xiao Wei's shout echoed from deeper in the passageway. At the sound, Jin Bo turned around just in time to see a figure burst out from around the corner! 0

The person charged out and spotted Jin Bo standing by the iron bars. Without slowing down, they swung their arm in a wide arc, using their rifle like a throwing knife aimed directly at him. Startled, Jin Bo quickly ducked to avoid the flying weapon; it crashed against the iron bars with a loud clang before bouncing off and falling to the ground. 0

"Playing with flying knives, huh?" Jin Bo spat, but when he reached out, he found nothing. The man in black had already closed the distance in just a few steps. With a look of imminent victory, he clearly didn't regard Jin Bo as a threat. He leaped forward from two meters away, taking advantage of Jin Bo's moment of dodging the flying knife, and unleashed a whip kick that sliced through the air! 0

This man was evidently a trained fighter. If Jiang He had been in Jin Bo's position, he would have had no chance to evade that kick and could only hope his skull was hard enough not to be crushed by the steel-toed boot. Unfortunately for him, this was Jin Bo. Although he had no knife in hand, he was far from being an easy target. 0

The fierce kick missed its mark as Jin Bo bent backward at the last moment, performing a solid Iron Bridge maneuver. Before the man in black could retract his leg, Jin Bo executed a backflip to regain his footing and sprang into the air, delivering two powerful kicks to the chest of the man who had tried to charge him with brute strength! 0

Inside the cell, Summer Rain suddenly felt as if she were watching an action movie. The small figure's flying kicks were like cannonballs; upon striking the man's chest, they produced two muffled thuds. With a quick retraction of his feet and leveraging the momentum from the man's charge, Jin Bo seemed to hang in mid-air for a moment before landing steadily on the ground. The man in black, however, was sent flying back two or three meters as if hit by a truck. 0

"Damn it," Jin Bo muttered as he shook his aching ankle and jogged over to deliver a kick to the man's head. The man groaned and fell over, motionless. Just then, Xiao Wei rushed back, panting heavily. 0

"Hey, are you okay?" Jin Bo looked up in shock to see half of Xiao Wei's face stained with blood, looking gruesome. 0

"I'm fine; it wasn't from a gunshot," Xiao Wei wiped the blood from his face and grinned, revealing white teeth. "This guy has a hard leg; one kick and I got my head split open." 0

As they spoke, Ming Junwei came rushing around the corner. Seeing both of them unharmed brought him some relief. He turned his head to glance at Red-Haired Woman in her cage and paused for a moment before saying to them, "There's movement at the exit; it seems they've called for backup. We need to find a way to blend in." 0

"Are there many of them? If not, we can take them all out!" Xiao Wei cursed fiercely, his inherent ferocity surfacing. 0

"There are probably quite a few," Ming Junwei said as he retrieved a magazine from the fallen man in black and tossed it to them. He quickly changed his ammunition and added, "We can't just barge in; let's act natural when the time comes." 0

Xiao Wei pointed at the woman in the cage hesitantly. "What if they hear her…" 0

Summer Rain perked up and waved her hands anxiously. "I won't tell anyone! I can help you!" 0

"Oh right, she just said she could help us," Jin Bo said as he approached the unconscious man in black and confiscated his Combat Knife, swiftly slashing it across his neck. 0

"Help us?" Ming Junwei instructed Xiao Wei to keep watch for any sounds while looking at Summer Rain with suspicion. "Why would you want to help us?" 0

"..." Summer Rain hesitated for a moment before answering, "No particular reason; I won't be alive much longer anyway. Believe it or not is up to you." 0

Ming Junwei exchanged a glance with Jin Bo, appearing somewhat hesitant. Jin Bo was not fond of getting involved in such matters; he looked around and said to Ming Junwei, "You decide." 0

"How can I help?" Ming Junwei asked. 0

"You three just follow me," Summer Rain said, wiping the makeup off her face and regaining some composure. "If we encounter anyone, don’t speak. Let me handle it." 0

Jin Bo rubbed his nose, feeling a bit uneasy. He couldn't help but say, "If she makes a small move, we’re done for." 0

Ming Junwei remained silent; such an obvious matter didn’t need Jin Bo’s reminder. He handed the explanation over to Summer Rain. 0

Summer Rain crossed her arms and shrugged nonchalantly. "Either you kill me now, or I might still betray you." 0

"Brother Ming, someone’s coming in!" Xiao Wei rushed back, pointing towards the exit. "I can hear a lot of voices. What should we do?" 0

Ming Junwei frowned, took the key from Jin Bo, and unlocked the iron bars. He stared into Summer Rain's eyes and said, "Let’s go." 0

Summer Rain seemed to breathe a sigh of relief and offered no further explanation. She pointed to the four unconscious Black-Clad Henchmen in the cell and gestured with her slender fingers around her neck. The three understood and fired a few bullets through the bars, sending the still-unconscious henchmen on their way. 0

The gunshots echoed down the corridor, alerting the incoming group to the commotion. Footsteps became chaotic on both sides of the hallway, and soon two teams encircled them from front and back. 0

"Don’t shoot! We’re on the same side!" Summer Rain signaled to the three with her eyes, raising her hands high to indicate she meant no harm. 0
