On a moonlit night, the cool Mountain Breeze carried the fragrant scent of flowers and grass. The leaves rustled softly, swaying gracefully in the dim light, while faint chirps echoed from deep within the unknown woods.
What a tranquil and peaceful night it was!
"Rustling..."
Walking ahead with the Wild Fury slung over his shoulder, Yi Tianchen stepped on the grass, occasionally glancing up at the starry sky, feeling quite serene.
Liu Yuhan walked beside him, holding a curved bow. The cold moonlight fell upon her face, illuminating it beautifully. The two arcs of her chest armor supported her impressive figure, and the snow-white fabric at her chest shimmered enticingly in the moonlight. Her flowing skirt and a cape that fluttered lightly added an air of heroism to her presence.
Looking back, only shadows danced behind them. Fortunately, they had not followed their original route but instead took a winding path along the edge. This way, they had effectively evaded their pursuers. However, ahead of them loomed a towering mountain.
A mountain they could not bypass!
They were already some distance from Bloodwood Forest, and for a while, no one would find them here. Moreover, as Yi Tianchen and Liu Yuhan moved stealthily through the night-shrouded bushes, each wearing a Vine Ring, they remained difficult to detect.
"Rustle..."
The Bush shook, producing a rustling sound. What should have been a minor noise in the stillness of the forest felt like a stone thrown into a lake that had been silent for millennia, sending ripples of unease through them.
Something was amiss!
In an instant, Yi Tianchen's heart tightened as he instinctively gripped the Wild Fury tighter. Then he heard a somewhat familiar voice coming from the bushes: "Hey buddy, it's me!"
"Buddy?"
Yi Tianchen paused in surprise; this truly left him bewildered! If he remembered correctly, since entering the game, he hadn't really made any buddies.
He had certainly made plenty of enemies—countless ones at that.
Quickly glancing over, he realized that the speaker was none other than the knight he had encountered earlier. At that moment, the knight was also wearing a Vine Ring and was hidden among a dense cluster of bushes. If he hadn’t revealed himself voluntarily, Yi Tianchen and Liu Yuhan would have never noticed him.
"Hey, what are you doing here?" Yi Tianchen feigned surprise while feeling relieved inside; since the other party hadn’t recognized his identity, it was best to avoid conflict if possible.
Meeting Liu Yuhan's gaze, Yi Tianchen stepped forward, preparing himself for the possibility of having to take action. Just then, six players suddenly appeared nearby, each wearing a Vine Ring and hiding in the Bush, clearly waiting for their prey to arrive.
In an instant, Yi Tianchen couldn't help but gasp. If he acted impulsively, he would be facing a total of seven players at once!
It was perilous—too perilous!
The knight chuckled but did not answer Yi Tianchen's question. Instead, he countered with a question of his own: "So, buddy, why are you here?"
Yi Tianchen chose not to respond verbally; he already understood the implication behind the knight's words. With a calm smile, he took a good look at the seven individuals and immediately noticed something interesting. These seven were of different classes, occupying seven out of the eight major classes in the game.
"Hehe, these guys are my brothers; we’re part of a mercenary group."
Seeing that Yi Tianchen was paying attention to them, the knight explained while signaling them to hide back in the Bush. He continued, "But thanks to your guidance, buddy! We all got ourselves one of these things and hid in the Bush; no one can spot us, haha..."
Yi Tianchen was taken aback and felt a chill run down his spine. What was meant to be an unintentional remark had turned into a tactic used against him.
What a predicament—more than just a little!
"You came here for Falling Leaves, right?" Yi Tianchen leaned on his sword, trying to steady his emotions.
"Hehe... buddy, aren't you here for Falling Leaves too?" The knight grinned as his gaze shifted between Yi Tianchen and Liu Yuhan, making it clear that they shared the same goal and had no need for concealment.
"Uh... haha... that's right!"
Yi Tianchen felt a surge of anxiety as he laughed awkwardly. "I heard that Falling Leaves would pass through here, so we thought we’d come by and see if we could get lucky!"
"Hehe, we're all after the same thing; there's no need to hide it. I also got word that Falling Leaves was spotted recently in Bloodwood Forest. Many friends searched that area but found nothing. After much consideration, I decided to bring a few brothers here to wait for our chance!"
"Oh? Waiting for our chance?"
"Exactly! Leaving Bloodwood Forest, players are searching in both the west and south directions; Falling Leaves isn’t a deity and can’t escape forever. To the east is a level 30 Monster Zone; I doubt Falling Leaves would want to seek trouble there. And just northeast is Venom Valley, which is a level 25 Monster Zone."
The knight proudly lifted his head, chuckling as he continued, "Falling Leaves is currently level 22, so the chances of heading to Venom Valley are the highest. To get from Bloodwood Forest to Venom Valley, this is the only way!"
"That makes sense; your analysis is quite reasonable!" Yi Tianchen agreed on the surface, but internally he had already torn the knight apart.
"Hey, buddy..." The knight scrutinized Yi Tianchen from head to toe, seemingly harboring a hint of suspicion.
Yi Tianchen's expression darkened as he sighed, "I always thought I was the only one who would think of this strategy. I didn't expect you, my friend, to be far superior to me and already have the foresight to set up an ambush here. I am ashamed, truly ashamed!"
"Haha... You're too kind!" The knight clearly enjoyed the compliment, instantly dismissing any doubts about Yi Tianchen.
At that moment, Liu Yuhan sent a message through the team channel urging Yi Tianchen to hurry. In fact, Yi Tianchen also felt deeply that this knight was too cunning; staying around for too long might reveal his true intentions.
Thus, they needed to leave quickly!
"Since you all are here, let's change locations. Good luck to you!" Yi Tianchen clasped his fists and smiled, signaling Liu Yuhan to move on.
"Haha, good luck to you as well. Safe travels!"
The knight felt quite pleased as he watched Yi Tianchen and Liu Yuhan take their leave. Before knowing Yi Tianchen's true identity, he merely regarded him as a rival. With Yi Tianchen leaving, it was like handing over the opportunity to him, which made him quite happy.
It was just a pity that while this guy was clever enough, he was still a bit lacking. With Yi Tianchen gone, he would be left out in the cold!

Twenty minutes later, after informing Mu Wanqing that he would log off later for dinner, a massive valley appeared before Yi Tianchen and Liu Yuhan. The dark entrance of the valley resembled the gaping mouth of a giant beast, with steep mountains on either side piercing into the sky like two sharp swords.
After some exploration, both Yi Tianchen and Liu Yuhan had to accept a harsh reality: the path into Venom Valley was extremely rugged and overgrown with thorns. They could only cautiously make their way forward, often pricked by thorns that caused low damage numbers to pop up.
With determination in his eyes, Yi Tianchen moved forward decisively. He swung his weapon, Wild Fury, slashing through the thicket to carve out a small path. Then he turned back and took Liu Yuhan's delicate hand in his own, feeling as sweet as if he had just drunk honey.
Ten minutes later...
Under the moonlight, two figures walked harmoniously through the thorns. Accompanied by numbers representing damage floating up into the dim night sky, this arduous yet sweet journey ultimately came to an end with the cessation of those damage numbers.
Standing within Venom Valley, Yi Tianchen and Liu Yuhan were both in shock! Aside from the entrance behind them, cliffs loomed on either side, while ahead stood a cluster of towering trees reaching heights of twenty or thirty meters.
The Forest of Single Trees!?
Yi Tianchen and Liu Yuhan stood dumbfounded before the Forest of Single Trees, their eyes filled with disbelief.
The massive trees soared into the air, with countless roots hanging down. Some dangled in midair, intertwining freely; others plunged into the earth, transforming into branches.
Twisted and tangled, dense as stars!
Looking up, even in the dim light, one could still discern a rough outline. In this enormous space, the roots and branches of the Forest of Single Trees intertwined to form a magical aerial platform.
Those roots, resembling Iron Chains, hung less than a meter above the ground, allowing one to climb up onto this so-called aerial platform. For a moment, Yi Tianchen couldn't help but admire the programmer who designed the Venom Valley map; such a grand and magnificent scene was truly breathtaking!
At this moment, one thought echoed repeatedly in Yi Tianchen's mind—
Divine miracle, an absolute divine miracle!
