Outside the novice village, Cedar Forest.
"MD, what did you all see just now?" The assassin who had been taken down by Yi Tianchen rushed over to his companions, panting heavily.
"What did we see? We saw you getting beaten like a pig!" one player replied irritably, though the fear in his eyes was still evident.
"I mean... that’s not what I meant..." The slain assassin glared with fierce eyes and roared, "I’m asking if you saw how he made his move! MD, I've been in this game for so long, and I've never seen such sharp skills. It was like a godly performance!"
"Did you check the death record?" the leader of the Swordsman Player asked.
"Yeah, Falling Leaves!" The assassin nodded, his tone serious.
"This is a tough opponent!" The Swordsman Player frowned as he glanced at Yi Tianchen in the distance, who had just taken down another Goblin Warrior. He smirked and said, "Looks like we’re off to a rough start this time. Let’s head over there and find some easier targets to deal with. We need to regain some face first."
"Hey, that’s exactly what I was thinking!"

Another sharp strike fell, accompanied by the wretched cry of the Goblin Warrior. Golden Light Falls enveloped Yi Tianchen as he successfully leveled up to level 3. With his growing proficiency in Tactics and rising strength, facing Goblin Warriors posed no pressure for him anymore; his five bottles of First-Level Life Potion remained untouched.
"It seems it's time to venture deeper!" After taking down another Goblin Warrior and picking up a Copper Coin, Yi Tianchen's gaze shifted towards the depths of the forest. At this point, the experience gained from Goblin Warriors had dropped from an initial 30 points to just 20 points, making it less suitable for leveling up.
Looking back, he noticed that quite a few players had arrived in Cedar Forest for leveling up. However, they were not like Yi Tianchen; they traveled in groups of three or five, tackling a single Goblin Warrior together. Even so, they still struggled quite a bit in their battles.
With a faint smile, Yi Tianchen held the Rotten Sword and quickly walked out of everyone's sight, heading deeper into the forest alone. Many players noticed Yi Tianchen walking by himself, their expressions filled with surprise. One player even scoffed, "Damn, there are really a lot of people who aren't afraid of death these days!"
As Yi Tianchen ventured deeper into the woods, the towering straight fir trees gave way to wild trees with lush branches and leaves. The branches twisted and looked quite sturdy. At the base of the trees, various bushes and thorns grew densely, swaying gently with the mountain breeze.
Everything around seemed calm, but Yi Tianchen knew he had entered a dangerous area. He recalled clearly that there were numerous introductions and descriptions regarding monster distribution near the novice village in the materials related to Zero Era. The location where Yi Tianchen currently stood was precisely within the territory of a monster known as the Cunning Ring Serpent.
Carefully navigating through the bushes, Yi Tianchen finally spotted his target beneath a cluster of bushes. There lay a snake as thick as a thigh, its body adorned with black and white stripes, coiled at the base of the bushes. Its triangular head lazily rested on the ground, looking quite content.
"This guy really knows how to enjoy life!" Yi Tianchen smirked, feeling somewhat speechless. It was just past one o'clock, and bright sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting sparkling patches of light on the ground that swayed gently with the mountain breeze, quite dazzling to behold.
Not rushing to act, Yi Tianchen made a mental note to lock onto his target from a distance. At that moment, relevant attributes about the Cunning Ring Serpent appeared before him---

Notes: The Cunning Ring Serpent lurks at the forest floor, possessing fearsome venomous fangs and an incredibly agile body that can strike like lightning, often leaving its encounters trembling in fear.
"Level 7 monster? 56 points attack limit?" Yi Tianchen gasped.
After standing still for nearly five minutes, Yi Tianchen tightened his grip on the Rotten Sword and made up his mind. He then picked up a small stone and, while getting closer, threw it, hitting the Cunning Ring Serpent comfortably coiled at the bottom of the Bush.
The target was clearly not weak, so Yi Tianchen decided to test it first. Moreover, the Bush was low and dense, making it impossible for Yi Tianchen to charge in with his body bent. Otherwise, he would lose all advantages and could very well be entangled by the Cunning Ring Serpent, which would be disastrous.
"Hiss!"
Provoked by Yi Tianchen, the previously lazy Cunning Ring Serpent reacted sharply! Just catching a whiff of the air's disturbance, it let out a chilling sound and shot its head forward like an arrow.

However, disturbed from its pleasant nap, the Cunning Ring Serpent clearly wasn't going to let Yi Tianchen off easily. It quickly uncoiled and shot out from the Bush with its triangular head raised. Its blood-red tongue flickered in and out as it emitted a series of terrifying hisses.
The battle was about to begin; there was no way to avoid it.
Yi Tianchen steeled himself and charged in at an angle after finding a good spot. He swung the Rotten Sword horizontally, striking precisely at the serpent's weak point. As the saying goes, strike a snake at its seven inches—this was indeed true. In the game, the seven inches of a snake were designed as its weak spot.

"Ha! Not bad for an attack!" Yi Tianchen nodded slightly. He pivoted on his foot and swung the Rotten Sword again, bringing it down with a sharp whistle.

After taking several hits from Yi Tianchen, the Cunning Ring Serpent was quite furious. While continuing to emit terrifying hissing sounds, its agile body coiled and two streams of venom sprayed onto Yi Tianchen—

After landing a strike with his sword, Yi Tianchen did not retreat but instead used a nearby large tree to perform a 360-degree spin, circling around to the serpent's back as it attempted to counterattack.
With his sword raised, he struck again!
"Slash!"
The sword hit the Cunning Ring Serpent's tail, causing it to emit a piercing scream. It turned to stab at him but missed as Yi Tianchen skillfully dodged, causing the serpent to crash into the tree trunk. To Yi Tianchen's surprise, the Cunning Ring Serpent lost nearly 45% of its Health Points from the impact.
"This guy... did he stab a bit too hard? Haha!" After the initial shock, Yi Tianchen couldn't help but feel elated; taking away 45% of the Cunning Ring Serpent's Health Points so easily was exhilarating.
From then on, Yi Tianchen paid more attention to utilizing the surrounding trees. He successfully executed his strategy three out of ten times. Before long, seven Cunning Ring Serpents lay defeated at his feet. Watching his experience points soar along with the shiny Copper Coins made him very pleased as he bent down to collect them, continuing to navigate through the dense jungle in search of more solitary Cunning Ring Serpents.
"This place... is really suitable for leveling up!" After taking down another Cunning Ring Serpent, Yi Tianchen successfully leveled up to level 4.
He moved forward to pick up the fallen Copper Coins and stretched contentedly before allocating his newly earned attribute points entirely into strength. This significantly boosted his overall power.
"Rustling..."
Just as he was about to leave, a faint rustling sound caught Yi Tianchen's attention. A quick glance revealed that a nearby bush was shaking slightly.
Yi Tianchen suddenly froze, a wave of excitement surging within him as he murmured, "There's still one more!"
Drawing his sword, Yi Tianchen quickly approached the base of the bush and soon spotted the Cunning Ring Serpent hiding there. However, upon seeing it, his heart skipped a beat, and he swiftly retreated several meters. The Cunning Ring Serpent before him was clearly larger than any he had encountered before.
"It's a big one!" Yi Tianchen thought to himself, feeling a surge of alarm.
