Chapter 188: The Arrival of Qin Mu
It must be said that the friendship between Han Liu and Qin Mu was largely thanks to Ye Huan. If it weren't for him, Han Liu wouldn't have spat blood over the abduction of his two daughters. Had Han Liu not suffered such a blow, Qin Mu would never have felt sympathy for him, and they wouldn't have sworn brotherhood, standing together in Flame Sun City. Even Ye Huan, upon seeing the luxurious furnishings in the Han residence, realized that it was only due to Qin Mu's assistance that the Han family had developed their current wealth.
Unfortunately, Ye Huan was unaware of all this; all he knew was that the voice he had just heard seemed to be warning him that Han Liu was in danger!
In a twist of fate, without a second thought, Ye Huan jumped out of bed and shouted, "Prepare for battle!" He then poured out a large amount of equipment from his Spatial Ring, clearly intending to rescue the 'in danger' Han Liu, completely oblivious to the fact that he was seen as an enemy.
Meanwhile, in the Main Hall of the Han residence, Han Liu was instructing those who had previously met Ye Huan not to reveal any information about his arrival. However, upon hearing that voice, he froze in place and muttered, "Qin Mu? Why is he arriving at such a critical moment?"
After standing there for a long time without formulating a plan, he suddenly heard a loud crash as the recently repaired door of the Han Residence was kicked open.
"Damn it! Do you think the door of Han Residence is like that of Purple Spring Pavilion? You can just barge in whenever you want?"
In one day, being kicked open twice was too much for Han Liu. With Ye Huan currently inside the residence, he couldn't help but curse under his breath, anxiously scratching his head as he pondered over what to do. Just then, Qin Mu entered the courtyard with dozens of Town Enforcers right after a group of over two hundred armed Refugees arrived at the Main Hall's entrance, creating a standoff.
"It’s you?!" "Ye Huan!!"
Both leaders exclaimed simultaneously as they recognized each other. One wore an expression full of rage and righteousness, complemented by his official attire as a city lord; the other was equally furious but looked somewhat ragged yet handsome—both were evenly matched.
The ragged figure was naturally Ye Huan, while the one in official robes was none other than Lord Qin Mu of Flame Sun City. Upon seeing Ye Huan appear in the courtyard of Han Residence, Qin Mu's earlier suspicions were further solidified. He shouted angrily at Ye Huan, "Ye Huan, hand over Han Liu and I will spare your life!"
"That should be my line! What’s this? The thief crying 'stop thief'?"
With a swift motion through the air, an M4A1 assault rifle landed in Ye Huan's hands. He chambered a round with a click, clearly ready for action and showing no fear towards Qin Mu's status. After all, during this time alone, Ye Huan had taken down countless figures at the city lord level; if he were to be afraid now, it would be more believable if pigs flew.
Seeing the weapon in Ye Huan's hands reminded Qin Mu of half a year ago when Ye Huan had caused chaos at Han Residence. Coupled with recent rumors circulating throughout Nine Provinces Continent, he instinctively felt his momentum wane slightly. He addressed Ye Huan again: "Ye Huan, you are now a well-known figure on Nine Provinces Continent; why do you need to trouble yourself with the Han Family Head?"
"Wow, just now..."
As he was about to ask who had called for the Han Family Head to come, Ye Huan suddenly realized that the voice sounded remarkably like Qin Mu's. He immediately swallowed his words, pondering what was going on.
Inside the Han Family Main Hall, Han Liu watched the standoff unfold before him. It would be a lie to say he wasn't moved, but when he noticed that Ye Huan had pulled out a 'gun' as a weapon, his only thought was to stop Ye Huan from speaking further. He hurriedly rushed out of the Main Hall, and as he ran, he didn't forget to play the peacemaker: "Both of you, listen to me! We're all friends here; why make things so unpleasant?"
"Him? A friend?!" "Old Man Han, have you lost your mind?"
The unspoken understanding between them was palpable. At the moment Han Liu spoke those words, both Ye Huan and Qin Mu turned to look at each other. However, Ye Huan was confident while Qin Mu appeared somewhat intimidated, directing his focus toward Han Liu, clearly wanting to hear what he had to say.
Rushing up to Ye Huan and Qin Mu, wiping the cold sweat from his forehead, Han Liu anxiously said, "You two, please relax. Let's talk this over calmly. Just consider it a favor for me—can we disperse our respective subordinates first?"
Subordinates?
Ye Huan didn't care much about Qin Mu's lackeys, but upon hearing Han Liu's words, Qin Mu's expression changed drastically. He had clearly noticed the more than two hundred refugees behind Ye Huan. With both sides armed and nearly equal in number, their identities were unmistakable. It was precisely because of this that Qin Mu felt a twinge of fear; it seemed he finally understood something that had puzzled him earlier—why Ye Huan had appeared in the Southern Xiongnu Empire!
Across from him, Ye Huan observed the change in Qin Mu's expression without saying anything. Instead, he snapped his fingers, signaling the Dragon Hall members to disperse before speaking: "Han Family Head, I've given you face this time. As for City Lord Qin, that's beyond my concern..."
As he spoke, Ye Huan shot a glance at Qin Mu, startling him into hurriedly instructing the Town Enforcers behind him: "Quickly, go outside to wait at Han Residence. And if my young master arrives, tell him to stay put and not do anything!"
"Yes, City Lord..."
A chorus of voices responded as many Town Enforcers cast glances at Ye Huan before leaving, seemingly curious about what kind of striking face belonged to the rising star of the Nine Provinces Continent. Unfortunately for them, nearly every Town Enforcer from Flame Sun City left with only one thought:
'Aside from being handsome, there doesn't seem to be much else? Even his clothes are so ragged; he looks like a pretty boy pretending to be tough...'
Seeing through their expressions made Ye Huan feel somewhat displeased. Knowing that every city's City Enforcers were cut from the same cloth didn't help either. Since he had never liked suppressing his thoughts, he raised his hand and fired a round from his M4A1 assault rifle. The bullets struck the Han family door that had just been kicked open and leaned against the wall again, creating thirty small holes that perfectly formed a 'leaf' shape.
"Wow, that's amazing!"
As the Town Enforcers generally lacked high levels of skill, they couldn't help but sigh in awe when they witnessed Ye Huan's display of power. However, when they caught sight of Ye Huan glaring at them coldly, they hurriedly fled, their speed more than doubled compared to before, resembling nothing less than people who had encountered monsters.
Ye Huan nodded in satisfaction, confident that after demonstrating even a fraction of his strength, both the Town Enforcers and the Lord of Flame Sun City would feel a sense of dread towards him. In fact, it was true; while others might not dare to speak up, at least Lord Qin Mu of Flame Sun City was currently struggling to suppress his trembling impulse, forcing a smile that looked more like a grimace than anything else.
Watching the Lord of Flame Sun City, who had caused him trouble just half a year ago, now acting so cautiously brought Ye Huan immense satisfaction. However, aside from this matter, he seemed to have something more important to attend to. With that thought in mind, Ye Huan turned his gaze toward Old Man Han standing nearby.
Noticing Ye Huan's look, Han Liu immediately understood and stepped forward with a smile directed at Qin Mu. "Lord Qin, shall we sit down inside?"
"I think it’s better to pass on that. Our friendship can wait for another time. How about you come over to my place next time?" Qin Mu hurriedly declined, eager to leave without lingering even a second longer. He also tried to exchange a knowing glance with Han Liu, but was left disappointed as Han Liu seemed oblivious to his signal.
It was no wonder; originally, Ye Huan's presence in Flame Sun City was meant to be kept under wraps. But now that Qin Mu had arrived and seen Ye Huan with his own eyes, how could they possibly keep it a secret? Regardless of whether Ye Huan agreed or not, Han Liu certainly wouldn’t want any news about Ye Huan staying here to leak out; otherwise, it would invite trouble.
Fortunately for them, there was no need for Han Liu to speak up. As the person involved, Ye Huan slowly stood up and smiled at Qin Mu. "Lord Qin, since I’m here now, why don’t we go to your place together?"
"Forget it; let’s discuss matters at Han Residence! I really don’t know how I got into this mess."
Just like the unpredictable weather in June, as soon as he heard Ye Huan wanted to go to the Lord's mansion in Flame Sun City, Qin Mu instantly became displeased. He cast aside the false mask he had been wearing and showed his true colors.
Upon hearing Qin Mu's words, everyone felt relieved. Han Liu took the lead and stepped forward quickly while Ye Huan hurriedly followed suit. Only Qin Mu wore a bitter smile; he could already imagine that once he entered with Ye Huan, there was a high chance he might end up being silenced by him…
