Chapter 152: Zhan Tianyue (Part 8)
Every country has its own flag. The Huaxia Nation's flag features the Nine-Clawed Golden Dragon, while the Southern Xiongnu Empire is represented by a soaring eagle. The flag of Goryeo, however, bears the emblem of a Ninth-Level Beast, the Hellhound. True to its name, this magical beast originates from a cliff in the western region of Goryeo, where it has long been hidden from the sun. It only emerged during two wars initiated by other nations and was later revered by Goryeo as a guardian beast, becoming the symbol on their flag.
Understanding the significance of this emblem, Ye Huan hesitated about whether to use his abilities as a Cultivator. After all, if Jin Zhengyang was correct and Goryeo had dispatched two hundred thousand troops toward Tianyue City, combined with the one hundred thousand already in the city, that would total a terrifying three hundred thousand. By that ratio of one to one thousand, Ye Huan truly believed that the members of Dragon Hall would not be able to hold out. Even if they could withstand it, he personally had no means to summon so many Arms for them to expend...
Just as he was about to take action, a loud bang echoed through the air!
A hundred meters away from the city gate, another military Hummer exploded next to the one that had just been hit by a Gatling gun. It seemed to have ignited from stray sparks, instantly capturing Ye Huan's attention.
Watching the flickering flames, an excellent idea suddenly sprang to mind for Ye Huan. He wondered if he could use these military Hummers to create a sea of fire to block the advance of Goryeo's reinforcements equivalent to twenty thousand soldiers heading toward Tianyue City.
The more he thought about it, the more he felt there was a chance for success. Just as he was about to retrieve the last batch of Barretts he had summoned using Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy from his Spatial Ring, Ye Huan suddenly remembered someone and exclaimed, "Oh no! How could I forget about him?"
Standing beside Ye Huan, the members of Dragon Hall were puzzled by his words. However, in the next moment, they saw the sword that had once saved Huaxia Imperial Capital from destruction reappear in Ye Huan's hand.
Without time to explain further to Dragon Hall's members, Ye Huan tossed the Flame Sun Sword into the air and leaped onto it. He transformed into a streak of golden light and shot down toward the ground below at an incredible speed. In just a blink of an eye, he arrived next to the Military Hummer he had ridden in earlier.
He forcefully yanked open the back door of the vehicle and found Zuo Yi unexpectedly fast asleep inside. With his body sprawled awkwardly and his rear end sticking up in the air, Zuo Yi was snoring loudly. Ye Huan couldn't help but marvel at how someone who had served in the military on the border could sleep so soundly even in such circumstances; it was truly impressive.
With a kick to Zuo Yi's raised backside, Zuo Yi rubbed his drowsy eyes, seemingly unaware of what had just happened. Furious, Ye Huan grabbed him by the collar and quickly returned to the Dragon Hall on the city wall of Tianyue City, slamming him down onto the ground. "Zuo Yi, you really are something! How can you sleep at a time like this?"
"Damn it, do you think I want to? I've been trying to catch some sleep for three whole days!"
Zuo Yi grumbled as he got up from the ground, clearly annoyed. His words piqued Ye Huan's curiosity; after all, as far as he knew, aside from the initial two busy days of conscription in Huaxia Nation, Zuo Yi should have had plenty of time to wander around.
Before Ye Huan could ask further questions, Zuo Yi stood up and noticed the numerous Koryo Soldiers surrounding the Dragon Hall. His eyes widened in alarm as he cautiously approached Ye Huan. Just then, he caught sight of the distant two hundred thousand Goryeo Army below the city, prompting him to shut his eyes again and mutter softly, "I must still be dreaming..."
Rolling his eyes, Ye Huan couldn't be bothered with Zuo Yi's self-hypnosis. He swallowed his questions and summoned the last batch of Barrett rifles from his Spatial Ring. Counting them revealed about twenty left. Instead of handing them over to the Dragon Hall members, he pulled two rifles for himself and stored the rest back in the Spatial Ring.
Holding two Barrett rifles while wearing black sunglasses, Ye Huan felt an overwhelming sense of superiority. Shaking off that feeling, he didn't regret using up his Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy as he aimed at a military Hummer a hundred meters away and opened fire. At that moment, the vanguard of the Goryeo army approaching Tianyue City was already close by, observing from a distance. A few bold soldiers even ventured closer.
In less than a second—boom! The deafening sound echoed as two military Hummers were simultaneously shot through their fuel tanks, resulting in violent explosions! Not only did it kill those Koryo Soldiers surrounding the vehicles, but various parts from the cars and bullets from the Barrett rifles previously discarded by Dragon Hall members were sent flying everywhere, injuring anyone they hit. Many unfortunate Koryo Soldiers in the vanguard were torn apart by the explosive force of the Barrett bullets ignited by fire.
Bang! Bang!
The sounds of two more Military Hummers exploding rang out. Standing atop Tianyue City's walls, Ye Huan was exceptionally nonchalant as he continued pulling the trigger. Dressed in Special Operations Gear, he shone like a brilliant star! This was evident from how the Koryo Soldiers and Goryeo Prince watching him were left dumbfounded when he revealed his Flame Sun Sword.
Not only was Ye Huan capable of flying with his sword, but his lethality also extinguished any resolve among the Koryo Soldiers defending Tianyue City to challenge him. Jin Zhengyang even thought about finding an opportunity to escape; otherwise, if Ye Huan stopped shooting soon, he might not get another chance to leave.
With that thought in mind, Jin Zhengyang instinctively took a step back. However, just as he was focused on watching Ye Huan below, Ye Huan suddenly said, "Jin Zhengyang, where do you think you're going?"
Frozen in place and staring at Ye Huan's profile, Jin Zhengyang had long discarded any thoughts of relying on Goryeo's experts or their thirty thousand strong army to wear down these attackers. He felt utterly helpless and didn't dare move an inch.
Indeed, anyone facing a twisted enemy like Ye Huan would likely have the same first thought: run! The farther away, the better...
Completely unaware of Jin Zhengyang's thoughts, Ye Huan had no time to concern himself with that. He continuously adjusted the bullets in his two Barrett rifles and quickly used a military Hummer to create a wall of fire a hundred meters from the northern city wall of Tianyue City. This effectively halted the advance of the two hundred thousand troops. Only then did he slowly approach Jin Zhengyang and say:
"Prince Goryeo, Jin Zhengyang, I think we should have a talk."
