Chapter 125: Breaking One Arm
The elders of Yuxu Palace nodded in agreement, and the bet was established. According to the thoughts of everyone present, Ye Huan should have hurriedly found a quiet place to begin his cultivation. However, to everyone's surprise, Ye Huan did not leave. Instead, he slowly walked toward the Fourth Generation Disciple of Yuxu Palace, who had retreated to a distance upon seeing the elders. He soon stood before the trembling figure of Yan Yue, who was cursing Ye Huan in his heart.
Suddenly feeling a shadow appear before him, Yan Yue was momentarily taken aback. When he looked up and saw Ye Huan staring coldly at him, he instantly shivered and cautiously asked, "Ye Huan, what do you want?"
"What do I want? Do you remember what you said earlier? If you can't beat me with two fingers, then you have to jump off Yuxu Peak!"
Ye Huan pointed at the seemingly bottomless edge of Yuxu Peak and even revealed a faint smile, completely unconcerned that many elders from Yuxu Palace were watching. This immediately sparked a wave of discussion among the elders:
"What is going on here? Could it be that Ye Huan has some past grievances with our Fourth Generation Disciple?"
"I think so! Otherwise, with Ye Huan's strength, he could definitely stand out among the Fourth Generation Disciples. Why would he be wearing servant clothes?"
"Nothing is absolute. Ye Huan just mentioned that he had risen from an ordinary person to the early stage of Excitement within a week. The two matters should not be related."
Having heard all this clearly, Yan Yue realized that even if Ye Huan truly forced him to jump from the thirty-thousand-meter-high Yuxu Peak, the elders would likely not punish Ye Huan for the sake of a future genius of Yuxu Palace. Thinking of this, Yan Yue regretted why he had boasted so boldly to Ye Huan in the first place, leaving behind such a handle for Ye Huan to grasp.
Hoping that someone might come forward to speak on his behalf, Yan Yue couldn't help but glance around. His eyes were filled with desperation, but wherever he looked—whether at the elders or at the group of Fourth Generation Disciples he had brought—everyone turned their gaze away as if they had never known him. This made Yan Yue feel a surge of desolation; he stood frozen in place, his mind in chaos with only one question remaining: 'Jump? Or not jump?'
Jumping from such a height would surely mean death, but if he didn’t jump, looking at the smile still lingering on Ye Huan's face, with a thud, Yan Yue knelt down to save his own life.
As the saying goes, a man’s knees are worth gold. With this kneel, Yan Yue had lost his dignity, and Ye Huan hurriedly helped him up, saying, "Yan Yue, you are the senior brother among the Fourth Generation Disciples; how can you kneel before a servant? Get up, get up! Once you stand up, you can jump off the cliff..."
Hearing the first half of Ye Huan's words, Yan Yue thought Ye Huan was a good person and even considered whether he had been too harsh in the past. However, upon hearing the latter half of Ye Huan's statement, he nearly collapsed back to his knees again.
Knowing that Ye Huan would never let him go no matter what, he steeled his resolve. While Ye Huan was still holding his arm, Yan Yue suddenly grabbed Ye Huan's arm and rushed toward the edge of Yuxu Peak, clearly intending to take Ye Huan down with him!
Fortunately, Ye Huan had long anticipated that Yan Yue was not to be trusted. With a swift motion, he drew out a d80 Tiger Tooth Bayonet. With a powerful slash, the bayonet glimmered with a faint white light, akin to the spiritual energy emitted by martial artists wielding their weapons. It severed one of Yan Yue's hands instantly, blood gushing everywhere and splattering onto Ye Huan's Dao Robe that hadn’t been cleaned for a month. In pain, Yan Yue let out a long howl and collapsed to the ground, clutching his severed arm with his remaining hand and glaring at Ye Huan in fury.
Seeing this scene unfold, the surrounding elders murmured among themselves. Severing an arm was already ruthless enough; if they allowed him to jump off the cliff...
Although they didn’t know what grievances existed between Ye Huan and Yan Yue, several elders stepped forward and addressed Ye Huan: "Ye Huan, spare him where you can. He’s in this state now; why not let it go?"
"Let it go? Do you really think that if he survives this time, he won’t come after me in the future?"
Ye Huan met Yan Yue’s gaze without fear. Seeing the hatred deep within Yan Yue’s heart, he coldly questioned the elders until they were left speechless. After a moment of silence, one elder finally spoke up: "It’s fine. Since you’ve reached Golden Core Stage in just a month, why fear an ordinary Fourth Generation Disciple?"
Indeed, what this elder said was correct. However, what worried Ye Huan wasn’t himself but rather Mu Ziling and Qian Erlang. After all, who could guarantee that Yan Yue wouldn’t target them in the future? If Ye Huan returned to Eastern State, wouldn’t he have to worry about Mu Ziling and Qian Erlang’s safety?
Determined to eliminate any potential threats but seeing that the elders clearly wanted to protect Yan Yue left Ye Huan in a dilemma filled with hesitation.
After pondering for a while, ultimately wanting to avoid offending the elders of Yuxu Palace, Ye Huan refrained from taking further action. Displeased, he turned away and left without wanting to stay there any longer to avoid further annoyance. He added as he walked away: "I won’t kill him for now; let Mu Ziling and Qian Erlang from the Fourth Generation Disciples come find me at my straw hut!"
Once the conversation concluded, Ye Huan walked away, and the elders finally breathed a sigh of relief. As for Mu Ziling and Qian Erlang, they were of no concern to them; after all, there was only one senior brother among the Fourth Generation Disciples. No matter how hard the other disciples worked, their status would always be different.
After helping Yan Yue bandage his wounds until the bleeding stopped, the elders began to leave. The Fourth Generation Disciples, sensing the situation was not in their favor, hurriedly took their leave, leaving Yan Yue alone on the mountaintop, buffeted by the cold wind. It painted a sorrowful picture; anyone unaware of the circumstances might think Yan Yue had suffered a great injustice. Little did they know that this was entirely of his own making. If he hadn't relied on his status as the senior brother of the Fourth Generation Disciples to bully Mu Ziling in the first place, how could so many troubles have arisen?
Unfortunately, one cannot change their nature. Gritting his teeth as he stared at the empty peak of Yuxu, Yan Yue endured the pain of losing an arm and became consumed with thoughts of revenge. Slowly rising to his feet, he began walking toward his master's direction while muttering to himself, "Ye Huan... Ye Huan! Just wait; I won't let this go so easily!"
Meanwhile, Ye Huan had just returned to the thatched cottage after leaving the secluded peak of Yuxu when Qian Erlang and Mu Ziling arrived. Both appeared somewhat bewildered, unsure of what had transpired. Ye Huan couldn't reveal everything to them for fear of provoking a barrage of questions. Ultimately, he simply advised them to "be more careful" before retreating into the thatched cottage to continue his cultivation without any delay.
He knew that as long as he reached the Golden Core Stage within a month, there were Spatial Rings and Flying Swords beckoning him…
