Liu Mei numbly endured it all as she lifted her gaze to the people around her. Everyone was laughing—men and women, old and young—casting mocking glances in her direction. She felt so cold, so cold that she wanted to go to the bathroom. But she couldn't hold it any longer. In front of everyone, she lost control.
Laughter erupted around her, the sound nearly deafening her. She looked up at the sky, which was overcast and gray, mirroring her current mood. She wanted to die, but what would happen to her parents if she did? She hadn’t taken her revenge yet; how could she die now? She had to survive.
Liu Mei wiped away her tears, lowered her head, and stopped struggling. From then on, she followed behind those women, smiling as they looked at the girls who had been trafficked. Just like those women had once scolded her, she began to insult and mock the newcomers. She watched them as if looking at her former self. But now, she was numb.
In this isolated village, there were no phones, no books, no entertainment. She could only go with the flow, slowly sinking deeper into despair.
"They operate as a gang; some are responsible for finding prey, some for trafficking, some for guarding, and others for passing information..." Liu Mei's eyes turned red with rage as she spoke out fiercely, "They are all demons!"
"If it weren't for them, I wouldn't have become who I am now!"

"They clearly saw what happened, yet chose to ignore it!"

"I thought that as long as I didn't harm them, I wasn't a bad person."

Liu Mei lowered her head, a look of guilt on her face.

"I will help you."
I looked at her and solemnly promised.
Old Li came to pick Liu Mei up to go home. As she turned around, she quickly wiped her tears and smiled at me.
"You need to live well with Wang Wancai from now on."
In her eyes, I saw a strong hatred.
What she meant was: "Get rid of them! Leave no one behind!"
I silently noted the list she provided.
That night, Wang Wancai eagerly wanted to get close to me.

Holding a knife in my hand, I slowly approached him, smiling as I said, "I'm not going to eat you."
"I just want to play a little game."
Wang Wancai trembled uncontrollably, his eyes betraying an overwhelming terror.
With the knife, I gestured near his thigh a few times before suddenly plunging it in.
"Ah—"
A scream erupted as Wang Wancai, terrified, wet himself.
