“the Takeda Family?” Tengye Kikuko paused slightly, appearing somewhat shocked. “Mr. Jiang, you must have a business collaboration with the Takeda Family, right?”
“Sort of, but it depends on how cooperative they are. After dinner, why don’t you take me to see the Takeda Family?” Jiang Chen replied.
“The residence of the Takeda Family is off-limits from a mile away. If you have an appointment with them, I can take you there. But if not, we can only take a distant look. However, Miss Takeda Kyoko is holding a wedding at the residence the day after tomorrow, and my family has been invited. You can join us to take a look,” Tengye Kikuko said.
“The day after tomorrow? Alright, the day after tomorrow it is.” Jiang Chen had initially planned to go that night, but he intended to stay in Island Nation for a while, so the day after tomorrow was fine. As for Takeda Kyoko’s wedding, it had nothing to do with him; all he cared about was the Kunlun Divine Mirror.
“Great! I’ll take you to eat the most authentic sushi in Island Nation at noon,” Tengye Kikuko smiled.
In Kyoto, Ginza.
Ginza is renowned as one of the most bustling commercial centers on Earth, alongside the Champs-Élysées and Fifth Avenue.
At a long-established sushi restaurant in Ginza, known worldwide for its sushi and high prices that most people cannot afford, Tengye Kikuko led Jiang Chen inside. As soon as they entered, they spotted a middle-aged man sitting at a table near the entrance, flanked by several bodyguards in suits.
Upon seeing this middle-aged man, Tengye Kikuko’s expression changed instantly.
“What are you doing here?” she asked in Island Language.
The middle-aged man was her pursuer, Murata Kazuki.
Murata Kazuki was no ordinary person; he was a member of the largest gang in Island Nation, the Yagawa Association. Members of the Yagawa Association are spread across the globe and have a notorious reputation. Murata Kazuki held a significant position within the organization and was considered part of its leadership.
The Tengye Family, to which Tengye Kikuko belonged, had ancestors who were once members of the Yagawa Association. Although they had gradually distanced themselves from such ties, an unbreakable connection remained. In Kyoto, one could not establish themselves without maintaining good relations with gangs unless they belonged to top-tier aristocratic families or conglomerates that could afford to disregard the Yagawa Association. The Takeda Family, for instance, had deep roots that even the Yagawa Association dared not provoke. However, the Tengye Family lacked such strength and still needed to appease the Yagawa Association.
Not long ago, Murata Kazuki visited the Tengye Family and happened to meet Tengye Kikuko. He became quite interested in her and began pursuing her. Naturally, Tengye Kikuko had no interest in members of the Yagawa Association, so she rejected him outright. But Murata Kazuki was persistent; he repeatedly visited the Tengye Family with threats and temptations. Her parents felt helpless and even agreed to marry their daughter off to him. Yet Tengye Kikuko continued to refuse him, which only fueled Murata Kazuki’s frustration. He nearly had someone tailing her every move. This time, upon hearing that Tengye Kikuko had made reservations at this sushi restaurant for a Huaxia man, he came here directly.
Members of gangs like Murata Kazuki possess an intense desire for control; the more unattainable something is, the more they want it. Even though Tengye Kikuko rejected him, he believed she was already his woman.
How could his woman be dining with another man? That was absolutely intolerable.
