“Are you okay, White Fox Enforcer?” the slightly plump Black-Clad Enforcer asked with concern.
“I’m fine, just feeling a bit of a headache. It seems I overexerted myself earlier,” Xiar replied, lowering his head to rub his temples, beads of sweat forming on his forehead. He then looked nervously at the other enforcers. “You can testify that I wouldn’t attack those three on my own. Clearly, someone is trying to take revenge for the criminal I accidentally killed, which is why they ambushed me when I returned from my mission.”
“Fortunately, I’m stronger than them. Three mere First Level ordinary Spirit Masters are no match for me; otherwise, I would have been in danger…”
“Rest assured, Mr. White Fox, we will definitely investigate the matter thoroughly. Enforcers are the guardians of Morent and will not allow anyone to retaliate afterward.” The other enforcer waved his hand and solemnly assured him.
Afterward, Xiar summoned the Evolution form of Anos Eagle, now known as Ironfeather Eagle.
Climbing onto its back, Ironfeather Eagle flapped its wings, which spanned over five meters, and gracefully took off toward the academy.
Once he left, the two enforcers who had come couldn’t help but chat for a moment. “Wasn’t his earlier state a bit strange?”
“There’s nothing strange about it; he’s at most a Second-Level Spirit Master and could never resist Lord Clark’s Forgetting Spirit Technique. Clark possesses an Ultimate Form Main Totem that excels in mental abilities; even the formidable Lord Bean fears him,” one replied casually.
“That’s true. But this guy truly lives up to the title Bloody White Fox; he leaves no survivors and even has his Totem Beast devour the bodies. If it weren’t for that witness, I wouldn’t have believed it myself—he’s truly brutal!”
“That witness… a capricious Important Figure. Let’s not talk about him; we have work to do.”
The two immediately changed their expressions and carried a large box into the dense forest, placing the body inside before summoning a giant bird named Ling Kong to fly away.
………………
In the clear blue sky, a giant bird with a wingspan of over ten meters flew rapidly.
The howling wind cut through the air like knives at speeds exceeding three hundred kilometers per hour, yet Xiar sat steadily atop it, enveloped in a faint glow that protected him.
Upon realizing the oddities of that agreement, he had felt an impulse to kill and silence witnesses but found it impossible to intercept the information being transmitted before death; thus, he could only endure.
Fortunately, he had an epiphany: every time he enhanced his Mental Attribute, he felt exceptionally clear-headed. So he decided to expend Evolution Points to boost his Mental Attribute to resist that secret technique.
“It’s somewhat similar to Firefly’s Seduction ability but far stronger—so much so that even I, as a Second-Level Spirit Master, cannot resist it. In Morent, it seems only that person possesses this ability—Clark.”
Xiar was still pondering the earlier encounter, trying to sort out if he had missed anything.
This top-secret experiment concerned Human Super Evolution, and thus ordinary Spirit Masters were strictly forbidden from knowing about it. If they stumbled upon it, they would end up like him, summoned and subjected to some strange agreement that erased their related memories.
With Clark at the peak of Third Rank strength, there were only a handful of individuals in the entire academy capable of resisting such mental abilities.
Those who could resist were essentially informed insiders, belonging to the absolute upper echelons of the academy, and naturally could not disclose any information.
The experiment was named the Absolute Evolution Warrior Project, aimed at perfecting Human Super Evolution as its ultimate goal, allowing humanity to become god-like beings through their own abilities. This meant cultivating the ultimate Evolved Warriors capable of combating Disaster Beasts!
In this project, Leslie was the most significant result of Super Evolution and was naturally used as a test subject or "White Mouse."
However, there was only one Leslie; if she died, all previous efforts would be completely wasted.
Thus, in the academy's secret laboratory, they spared no expense to cultivate a batch of Clone Bodies based on Leslie's Bloodline!
You read that right; Morent's biotechnology was far more advanced than that of the top ten Aqua Stars, having reached the pinnacle in cloning technology.
Not only could they cultivate Clone Bodies that looked identical to Leslie, but they could also endow these Clone Bodies with similar combat experience and a bit of memory!
Even more terrifying was that it took less than a week to cultivate a complete adult Clone Body!
The biggest drawback was undoubtedly the exorbitant cost; each Clone Body was as expensive as a top-tier Rune Factory, and their combat power fell short compared to an ordinary Third-Rank Spirit Master.
Therefore, after discussions among the academy's higher-ups, they decided to cultivate Clone Bodies and then use a strong individual as a sharpening stone to ruthlessly test them.
They would collect data during battles to facilitate deeper modifications, making them stronger over time.
To this end, Isaac, one of the top students, volunteered to become this "sharpening stone," seeking enjoyment in life through bloody violence.
The academy prepared numerous battlefields under various conditions to enhance the combat capabilities of the Clone Bodies. The battles would proceed according to plan to better grasp the direction for "ability growth in real combat."
According to calculations, they needed to prepare 108 different battlefields including forests, grasslands, deserts, and beaches. Each battlefield required 10 to 6 experiments, totaling thousands of trials to achieve their objectives.
As of now, Isaac had personally killed over a hundred of Leslie's Clone Bodies, but the experiment had barely completed less than one-tenth of its course. It would take nearly another six months to finish everything!
This experiment was not just about finding the perfect direction for Super Evolution; the ultimate goal was to cultivate a legion of Third Rank Evolved Warriors!
In the academy's vision, this legion would be absolutely obedient to commands and possess strength comparable to the Ultimate Form. Once established, it would mark the moment when Morent would dominate the world.
The cloned soldiers of this legion shared the same Bloodline, allowing them to achieve "fusion" through a special Spirit Technique, transforming into a king-level Evolved Warrior known as a Disaster Beast through an alternative path.
Thus, this plan was also referred to as the King of Evolution!
"This is the source of Leslie's tragedy, as he initially had no idea about this plan until after the Ultimate Evolution," Xiar murmured.
Leslie enjoyed the academy's abundant resources and received the best treatment.
There are no free lunches; whatever one gains must come at a cost, and what he paid was his own future.
He began to attempt to break free but was met with brutal treatment. With his current strength, he couldn't even defeat Isaac, let alone resist those in power at the academy.
In the early stages, he was crushed repeatedly and faced life-threatening situations multiple times. It was only due to the intervention of the academy's higher-ups that Isaac did not eliminate him.
Thus, he grew amidst adversity and despair. Only after completing Super Evolution did Leslie truly grasp his own destiny!
