In Shining Gold Town, numerous unexpected events had caused the residents to grow increasingly anxious.
However, the private soldiers of the Mestlin Family had consistently maintained order, preventing significant casualties. People began to whisper among themselves about the assassination attempt on the family head, uncertain of what changes it might bring.
Within the Mestlin Family estate, Xiar and a few others were seated in the courtyard, enjoying tea and relaxation.
The nobility in this world, much like in Western Europe of the past, pursued luxurious and elaborate pleasures. Various balls, banquets, and wine gatherings were common; any excuse could serve as a reason for a social event.
Families often gathered to enjoy exquisite dishes that commoners had never even seen.
Coming from a land where everyone was a food lover, Xiar took full advantage of his noble status to indulge his culinary cravings.
The culinary standards of this world were comparable to those of the medieval era. The scarcity of productivity meant that even nobles could not expect overly extravagant meals.
Fortunately, a wide array of spices, wines, and pastries were available, alleviating much of Xiar's concerns—he lacked knowledge in distillation and glass-making, which were essential skills for any traveler from another world, but he found no need to apply himself in those areas.
The Spirit Masters were all standard researchers; their studies on everyday items rivaled those from the first industrial revolution of his previous life.
Xiar quietly savored his tea, made from a certain type of leaf. It had a hint of bitterness but was rich and fragrant.
With his physical condition greatly enhanced and the effects of the Heart of Life at play, the vitality that had been consumed was now restored.
However, there was no way to reverse his head full of white hair. The strands were crystalline and snow-white, adding an air of mystery to him and making him appear more knowledgeable and cultured—thankfully, he wasn't bald!
His eyes sparkled with amusement as he looked at the person sitting across from him.
Alan's face was filled with astonishment as he gazed at the plates of delicacies laid out on the table. Coming from the Merchant's House, he had never encountered such exquisite cuisine; it looked like art, making him hesitant to take a bite.
On a base of Butter Bread, a layer of pure white Cheese was wrapped, with intricate black patterns carved into the Cheese.
Adorned with vibrant red and green fruits, at the center stood a red flower, glistening with droplets of water, creating an exquisite visual appeal that stimulated one's appetite with its brilliant colors.
Xiar looked at the other person with a slight smile, clearly amused that this future prophet was, at this moment, just an ordinary person, utterly tempted by a mere specially crafted fruit cake.
He chuckled softly and said, "Aileen, why aren't you eating?"
"Ah, okay, okay."
The other person was startled for a moment, carefully using a fork to bring a piece of cake to her mouth.
Her Amethyst-like eyes sparkled, and her silver shawl-like hair swayed gently with her movements, making Xiar suddenly feel as if he were watching a food show from his past life.
Indeed, any dish that doesn't shine isn't worth having!
"Wow."
She let out a soft sound as she devoured the piece of cake, reminiscent of a little cat. Her cheeks flushed slightly, making her already delicate features appear even more feminine.
"How is it? Is it delicious?" Xiar set aside his knife and fork, resting his chin on his hands with a smile as he asked. "Aileen, if you like it, you can have it every day from now on."
Strangely enough, watching someone else eat seemed more enjoyable than eating himself.
Leslie sat quietly to the side, slightly surprised as she glanced at the two. Then she smiled and continued to elegantly and swiftly devour the large amount of food in front of her.
He ate slowly and elegantly, yet several exquisite plates were already stacked in front of him. The amount he consumed was equivalent to that of two other people, plus more than double what White Fox Fire would eat.
"Mm, this is so delicious! I've never had such tasty food before!" With Xiar's inquiry, the other person's eyes brightened even more, and they licked their lips, looking as if they had just stolen some dried fish.
Then, finally realizing something, they looked at Xiar in shock. "How do you know my name?!"
"Elder Sister Erin, did you really think such a clumsy disguise could fool us—except for that big fool with a blood-filled head?" Xiar continued to smile.
Leslie beside them didn’t even lift their head, stuffing another piece of beef into their mouth.
The finest quality Beef Ribeye, cooked medium rare with a hint of blood. The steak was slowly melting into the herb-infused butter, blending perfectly with the juices, making it incredibly flavorful and tempting him to eat even more.
"I clearly used a special potion and Spirit Technique!" Erin exclaimed, her face filled with disbelief after being exposed.
"Sorry, but that might only fool ordinary people. A master in this field would see right through it at a glance," Xiar shook his head, slightly exasperated.
In truth, he hadn’t recognized her identity at first either. It wasn’t until he flipped through memories related to her that he finally recalled her appearance as a woman—cough cough, the image of her being treated for serious injuries while undressed.
Naturally, he wouldn’t mention that. Instead, he said warmly, "Elder Sister Erin, I just remembered that we actually met a long time ago. My father took me to Antu County back then, and we happened to rest at your tavern."
"We played together and then got tired and slept side by side—evidence of which is the golden mole on your chest that looks like a strange eye."
"Elder Sister Erin, don’t you remember me from our time playing together at Yuri Lakeside?"
Xiar gazed at her with deep emotion in his eyes, filled with anticipation as if tears were about to well up.
"Is this really happening?"
Yuri Lake was the name of the lake next to her family's tavern, something outsiders would never know.
Not to mention that the other person even knew about the mole located on her chest, nestled between her two soft curves. Aside from her parents and the maid who had taken care of her since childhood, no one else knew about it. Both her parents and that maid had perished in a fire.
Erin's eyes were somewhat dazed as she vaguely recalled that she had indeed played with some brat long ago.
But that memory was too distant, over a decade ago, now blurred into indistinct fragments of images.
Under the other person's expectant gaze, the face before her gradually merged with that figure from her memories, evoking a sense of familiarity within her.
Since her Main Totem had completed its Evolution, she had tried to alter some terrifying future scenarios. However, it seemed that the future truly could not be changed; whenever she attempted to make a difference, other disasters would descend upon her.
Even her parents had perished in flames due to a servant accidentally knocking over an oil lamp.
Having wandered for so long, encountering a "familiar" face now made her feel an overwhelming sense of closeness.
"Xiar, it's so good to see you again." She stood up and gently embraced the other person.
"I'm glad to see you again too. From now on, I will be your family." Xiar held Erin's delicate form in his arms, his cheek resting against her Silver Long Hair, his eyes calm as still water.
