Alan's footsteps made urgent sounds on the cobblestone road, as if driven by an irresistible force, he swiftly shuttled through the narrow alley. Ahead, Sarah's figure appeared and disappeared like an elusive phantom. 0

"Hey! Stop, don't run!" Alan shouted, his voice filled with anxiety and confusion. 0

However, Sara seemed to not hear his shouts at all, her pace remaining light and fast. Every time Alan thought he was about to catch up to her, she would turn into a new alley and disappear from his sight. 0

Alan's heart was pounding like a drum, his lungs feeling like they were on fire from the intense exercise. He didn't give up, continuing to follow Sara's possible trail, chasing after her. The sides of the alley were lined with tall and short old buildings, with tattered cloths and wooden boards on the windows fluttering in the wind, as if mocking his helplessness. 0

He quickened his pace as much as possible, but it seemed that Sarah's speed was even faster than he had imagined. Alan darted through one alley after another, each corner turned marking a new pursuit. The sounds of the street rapidly receded from his ears, leaving only the echo of his own breathing and footsteps in the quiet alley. 0

Finally, after another turn, Alan found Sarah standing still at a secluded street corner, her back turned to him. Her body swayed gently, as if waiting for something. 0

Alan stopped, panting, and cautiously approached her. His heart was full of questions, not knowing where this mysterious woman wanted to lead him, or whether she was friend or foe. His palms were slightly warm, as if ready to use blood as a weapon, but he maintained his last bit of vigilance, quietly observing Sarah's every move. 0

"Now can you tell me what you really want?" Alan's voice was filled with caution, but also revealed a hint of curiosity. 0

Sara's mouth lifted with a sly smile, her eyes shimmering with a strange and profound light. "Look at you, so nervous? If I really wanted to harm you, you would probably have been surrounded by the entire neighborhood by now," she said playfully. 0

Alan Looked around, this was a quiet dead-end alley, with high walls all around and only one exit, indeed an excellent ambush location. However, he felt no fear in his heart, but instead was filled with determination and confidence. 0

"I'm not afraid," Alan replied calmly, his voice revealing an unquestionable determination, "My power is unmatched by anyone." 0

Sarah raised an eyebrow slightly, seemingly curious about Alan's confidence. She turned gently to face Alan, looking directly into his eyes as if trying to see through his soul, assessing every subtle expression. "You say no one can rival you," she said deliberately, "Have you ever thought about why the God of Rage was expelled by the other Four Symbols?" 0

This sentence was like a lightning bolt, shattering the calm in Alan's heart. His brow furrowed deeply as he sank into thought. The god of anger was indeed powerful, but if what Sara said was true, why had he ended up in such a state? 0

"Perhaps," Alan said slowly, "even the gods have their weaknesses. Perhaps the god of anger is no exception." 0

Sara smiled slightly, seemingly satisfied with Alan's response. "Yes, even the gods are not all-knowing and all-powerful. They have their own weaknesses and limitations. That's why we have the opportunity to oppose them." 0

Alan's gaze became more determined. He realized that, whether facing the Four Symbols or any other enemy, he couldn't rely solely on strength. He needed more wisdom and strategy. 0

"Then, what is your plan?" Alan asked, his voice revealing an irresistible curiosity. 0

"Let's cooperate," Sarah stared directly at Alan. "We both have a common enemy, and I know some things that you don't. If we join forces, we will have a better chance to fight against those so-called gods." 0

Alan felt a wave of emotion in his heart. This proposal was indeed very attractive to him. But he also knew that such cooperation might be full of risks. His gaze was fixed on Sarah, and an inner intuition told him that the woman in front of him was not ordinary. Although her appearance was concealed by the mage's robe, the faintly visible figure and the exquisite face that was hard to conceal revealed an unusual temperament. 0

Alan noticed a necklace worn by Sarah around her neck. The necklace seemed simple, yet it was not without its splendor and delicacy, emitting a subtle magical aura. The gem on the necklace shimmered with a soft light, complementing her mysterious temperament, making Alan couldn't help but speculate that her identity and background must be extraordinary. Alan understood in his heart that the woman in front of him, whether from her disdainful attitude or her precise control of the chaotic situation in the tavern, showed that she was not just an ordinary mage. 0

"Are you really just an ordinary mage?" Alan asked, his tone revealing a hint of distrust. After all, the scene in the tavern just now was still vivid in his mind, and he remained cautious of this mysterious woman. 0

A smile tugged at the corner of Sara's mouth, seemingly finding Alan's suspicion amusing. Her fingers lightly traced the necklace, as if confirming its existence. 0

"I am indeed a mage," Sara replied calmly, "but what I know far exceeds the scope of an ordinary mage. There are many mysterious powers hidden in this world, and perhaps I can help you uncover some of their secrets." 0

Alan fell silent for a moment, his inner distrust and curiosity intertwining. He couldn't fully trust this woman, especially after she had just tricked him in the tavern. However, he also realized that on this journey of revenge, he might need the help of such mysterious powers. 0
