During lunch at the Cafeteria, most of the warriors were still unaware of what had happened, each one smiling brightly. I knew this was because many students had invited their instructors to participate in various class or dormitory activities during the first weekend, especially in the Girls' Class. It was the first time the warriors had encountered such a situation, and it was no surprise they were excited. After all, women were quite rare in the military camp, and now that they were in college, being able to go out on weekends with so many girls around must have made everyone incredibly happy. 0

No wonder everyone had been training diligently this week. One reason was to impress the students, and another likely stemmed from the fear that I would send anyone who performed poorly back for replacements. 0

That said, Honest mentioned that our Unit was carefully selected. The warriors looked good; even those who enlisted from rural areas, like Comrade, appeared spirited after enduring time and military life. Wearing their Uniforms only enhanced their presence. It's no wonder that many girls often surrounded the warriors during training. The charismatic Xuanhua, Wu Chao, and even Little Xu were popular, and even Murong Qian, that timid little White Face, had admirers. Zhenzhen too. 0

Looking at everyone radiating with vitality, I couldn't help but wonder why no one had invited me to join any class activities. 0

Even Sheng Xiong, who acted as both Clerk and Communicator, received invitations from girls, leaving me alone and bored over the weekend. Eventually, this led to quite a mess. 0

As I sighed while eating, a warrior passed by after finishing his meal and casually remarked, "Company Commander, what's wrong?" 0

I glanced sideways to see Little Farmer. There were two soldiers in our Unit whom I personally brought back from Guangxi Xincheng; Little Farmer was one of them, along with Jinghe, Sheng Xiong, and Xuanhua. These two often took pride in being my trusted aides and would frequently mention that they were chosen by me. Their words dripped with pride. Only these warriors could be so straightforward with me, expressing their thoughts without any hidden agendas. 0

I shook my head and ignored him. Joking aside, until I figured out what was going on, I couldn't reveal such strange matters. If it turned out to be nothing significant, the school might accuse me of being superstitious—what a terrible reputation that would be! Military personnel engaging in such nonsense would only invite ridicule. 0

Hmm... wait a minute! There’s a lively character right here! A bold idea suddenly struck me. I reached out and pulled Little Farmer over to sit beside me. 0

I looked around; there was no one nearby. Then I whispered, "Hey, I need to ask you something." 0

"Company Commander? What is it?" Little Farmer blinked at me in confusion. 0

"Well... since you joined the unit, how's that thing going for you?" I asked nervously. It was amusing; I used to worry about him encountering strange phenomena before, but now I feared he might say he no longer had that ability. 0

"What thing?" Little Farmer replied perplexedly. 0

"Come on! You know what I'm talking about!" I pointed at his eyes. 0

"Oh! That! Company Commander, just ask directly! I thought you meant something else," Little Farmer relaxed immediately and answered nonchalantly. To be honest, everyone in my Unit had a similar attitude; Little Farmer was among the more introverted ones due to his upbringing—after all, he was still a kid at heart and naturally curious and lively. The most introverted had to be Instructor Old Tang; he was naturally awkward and considered extremely steady by our leaders. However, in my Unit, Old Tang had gradually become much more cheerful. When we first teamed up, he struggled with my joking style and often said I wasn't serious enough. Now he would actively share jokes during meals every day—even if they weren't funny at all—he still enjoyed himself thoroughly. Over time, every meal became a trial for me. If you visited our cafeteria during meal times, you'd find one Commander talking animatedly while laughing at his own jokes while another Commander sat at a table full of people grimly shoveling food into their mouths. 0

"I’m being serious with you," I said, furrowing my brows. 0

"Yeah," Little Farmer replied, seeing my seriousness and adopting a more solemn tone. "At first, when we were on night watch, we would see some things, but gradually it decreased. It might be due to the environment at Camp. The Master said there are a lot of men in the troops, so the masculine energy is strong. Unless it’s something special, not much stays around." 0

"Master?" 0

"Zhou Master." 0

"Oh, Old Zhou!" I suddenly realized. It had been quite a while since I last saw him; I almost forgot about him until now. 0

"Hey, let’s not talk about that for now. I just wanted to ask you, have you seen anything at school these past few days?" 0

"Nothing," Little Farmer said decisively. 0

"Nothing?" Although the dormitory was a bit far from the Old Building, it shouldn’t be that Little Farmer felt nothing at all. 0

"Nothing. We train under the sun all day, and lights out is at nine-thirty. I haven’t seen anything." 0

"What about during your watch? Did you see anything unusual near our building?" I asked stubbornly. 0

"It hasn’t been my turn yet." 0

"What the hell!" I clicked my tongue and fell silent. 0

"Company Commander, have you encountered something?" Little Farmer asked tentatively. 0

"Cut the nonsense." After thinking for a moment, I made a decision. I decided to investigate the Old Building again tonight and take Little Farmer with me. He was like a natural radar for supernatural entities; with him around, at least I wouldn’t panic. 0

"Hey, come with me on a mission tonight. After lights out, I'll come get you. Alright, you can go now. Remember, don’t tell anyone about this. If any other comrades ask, just say you went to check on an injured student with me. If you leak even a hint of this, I’ll have you switched back immediately." 0

"Understood," Little Farmer replied sharply. 0

I patted him on the shoulder, nodding in satisfaction. "Go ahead." 0

As I returned with the troops after dinner, the rain had stopped, but the sky had darkened. The Old Building loomed halfway up the hill, its dormitory lights already on, yet it remained shrouded in darkness, creating a stark and eerie contrast between the two buildings. 0

I assigned the soldiers their evening tasks: first, to write reflections on their Military Training, and second, to check how well each class had completed their training plans. Before we started the next phase on Monday, I needed to review the results of the first week's training for each class. 0

Once I was nearly done with my tasks, I used the landline at the front desk to call the Health Center. Fu Yuehua was still not awake. After giving a few instructions to Guard's Jinghe, I hung up and returned to the dormitory. 0

Just as I entered, I ran into Xiaojing. She immediately asked, "I heard a girl had an incident today." 0

Wow, news travels fast. 0

I opened the door wider for her to come in. Inside, Sheng Xiong instinctively ran out and bared its teeth at Xiaojing. 0

Fortunately, Xiaojing didn’t notice; otherwise, she would have turned red again. Once she was inside, I asked, "How did this news spread so quickly?" 0

Xiaojing's expression darkened. "Did you go to the Old Building today?" 0

"Yeah." I realized there was no point in hiding it; after all, so many people had gone to the Old Building looking for someone that nearly everyone in the Girls' Dormitory must have seen it clearly. 0

"Weren't you told not to go in there?" Xiaojing exclaimed somewhat flustered. 0

"Why are you so worked up? I'm fine. Besides, if something happened in there, you wouldn't tell me anyway," I patiently explained, though I didn't plan on sharing my experiences from this afternoon. 0

Xiaojing paused for a moment before saying, "I'm just looking out for you. That building is rumored to be haunted." 0

The main character has arrived, I thought to myself but kept my composure. "There's no such thing as ghosts. You college students love spreading campus Ghost Stories; we were like that too back in our day." 0

"That's not true; it's real." 0

"Oh? Tell me more." This was clearly her way of trying to extract information. 0

"This building is really eerie. Two girls committed suicide here, jumping from the top floor. After that, the school closed it down for good. I heard both of them were from Room 514. Everyone says that room is haunted, and the whole building feels off. No one dares to go near it. I can't believe this happened with the new students this year." 0

Room 514 definitely has issues; my heart sank at the thought. 0

"Do you know the details?" I asked. 0

"I don't know. I enrolled last year, and this building was already closed then. It's all just rumors passed around by upperclassmen. They say the news came from the roommates of those two girls who committed suicide." Xiaojing said, glancing around nervously as if something might jump out at her. 0

Xiaojing's words only strengthened my resolve to investigate later that night. I pondered aloud, "Maybe it was a relationship issue that drove them to it. Or perhaps there were other reasons? The school wouldn't let you all know everything, right? You students just create these terrifying rumors and scare yourselves for no reason." 0

Xiaojing pouted, "Well, everyone says that. It's better to be cautious, isn't it? Besides, that building does look pretty creepy." 0

"It's just psychological," I explained, though my mind was already racing with plans on how to sneak over there later. I wondered if the Girls' Dormitory and stairs were locked up; it would be difficult to access from the Boys' Dormitory since the wall is quite high—about three or four meters—and it's slippery after the rain. It would be better to go from the Girls' Dormitory side. 0

After chatting with Xiaojing for a while longer, a strange noise suddenly echoed through the air. "Awooo! Awooo!" Xiaojing jumped in surprise. I chuckled and picked up my phone to turn off the alarm; it was already nine-thirty. Soon, I'd have to head out to explore the Haunted Building. 0

To be continued; tomorrow will be even more exciting. 0
