I turned around and was taken aback. "Isn't that Xiaojing?" 0

She noticed my surprised expression and couldn't help but smile. "Why are you so shocked?" 0

"What are you doing here?" 0

"Where else would I be? I'm studying here; I'm already a sophomore," Xiaojing pouted. 0

"Oh, I see," I said, finally understanding. 0

"What about you? Why are you here in uniform? I saw you from far away," Xiaojing asked cheerfully. 0

"Hehe, I'm here to accept a mission for the Freshman Military Training," I pointed to the busy soldiers behind me. 0

"Ah, what a pity. We can't train again," Xiaojing said regretfully. 0

"Hehe, no worries about getting sunburned," I joked. 0

"That's true." She thought for a moment. "Still, it's better not to train. By the way, how long are you staying here? I was thinking of coming to find you." 0

"Find me for what?" I asked casually. 0

"Uh, well, how's Qiqi doing?" Xiaojing was clearly trying to make conversation. 0

"About that..." I hesitated for a moment. After a pause, I said, "There's nothing much going on; she's doing well now." I decided not to tell her about the case's details. 0

To be honest, Ah Huang had shown me the footage from the hidden camera that Li Ping had set up. Aside from what happened at the hospital, I only glanced at the recordings with Zhou Tao. How should I put it? It was shocking. 0

I considered myself to have a strong mental fortitude, but even I was taken aback. In the video, Liu Qi was engaging in car intimacy with each victim while also subjecting them to abuse, like a queen and her servant—using a lighter to burn them, dripping wax, and whipping with a belt. Of course, this isn't the place to elaborate on that; we can skip over those details. 0

I began to understand why Liu Qi preferred larger individuals; perhaps only they could withstand the torment. 0

After an intense encounter with Liu Qi, Zhou Tao drove her back. Liu Qi directed Zhou Tao to pass by Li Ping's yard, then found an excuse to stop the car. During that brief moment, the door was suddenly yanked open, and Li Ping appeared, using a steel wire to restrain Zhou Tao and drag him out of the vehicle. 0

In the next scene, Taotie emerged, crouching on the ground, tearing into Zhou Tao, who lay helplessly. I felt a chill run down my spine; I had never imagined a dog could be raised to be so ferocious. Fortunately, the shot was fleeting, likely captured by a hidden camera Liu Qi had set up. The entire process was brutal and bloody, devoid of dialogue. Aside from Taotie's gnawing sounds, I heard no exchanges between Liu Qi and Li Ping. Under hypnosis, Liu Qi appeared eerily calm, while Li Ping never reappeared in front of the camera. 0

Recalling that night’s confrontation with Li Ping and Taotie sent another shiver through me; it was truly frightening. I shook my head, trying to dispel those unpleasant memories, forcing a smile as I told Xiaojing, "You should avoid seeking out Liu Qi in the future." 0

"Why?" 0

"For no particular reason." After a moment's thought, I added, "She spends too much time in nightclubs; it's not good." 0

"What’s wrong with nightclubs?" Xiaojing asked incredulously, her rebellious nature shining through. 0

I mumbled vaguely, "People are too complicated; it's unsafe." 0

To my surprise, Xiaojing squinted at me for a moment before suddenly grinning. "I get it! Don't worry; if I go again, I'll go with you." 0

What the hell! What did I just say? Just as I was about to explain myself, Xiaojing interrupted. "It's almost noon; I have to head back to the dorm. I'll come find you later." With that, she dashed away. 0

I didn’t have time to say anything else and turned around helplessly to see if everyone had checked in. 0

To my surprise, as I turned, I found seven or eight people crowded at the door, staring intently at Xiaojing's departing figure. 0

Well then, Honest said they were practically drooling. 0

"What are you all doing? Get moving!" I shouted loudly. 0

"Alright, alright." The soldiers buzzed and scattered, each returning to their rooms. 0

Only Xuanhua stepped out. "Hey, Company Commander, isn't that woman the one whose car we pushed into the water last time? Why is she here bothering you again?" 0

I intended to explain, but realizing he wouldn't understand, I simply replied, "Yeah, it's quite a hassle." 0

Xuanhua chuckled foolishly a few times. "If she comes to cause trouble again, I won't hold back." 0

"Save it. Let's go check on Internal Affairs." I waved my hand and led Xuanhua inside. 0

Xuanhua had chosen room 110 for himself, which was convenient—one at the front and one at the back to keep an eye on these guys. The room hadn't been cleaned yet, but everything was already organized according to military habits and regulations. I nodded; it was acceptable. Considering that we might let the students tour Internal Standards next, I decided to impose some stricter rules. 0

As I inspected each room, I noticed it was almost mealtime when the Deputy Director strolled over. "Oh, Company Commander Wang, you all are quite organized here." 0

Xuanhua, overhearing this, became displeased. "We are a regular unit, okay?" 0

"Oh, right." The Deputy Director looked a bit awkward. "It's mealtime now; how about we gather everyone and go eat?" 0

Being from the administration, he quickly changed the subject. 0

"Sure, thank you." I replied politely while shooting a glare at Xuanhua. 0

I blew the Assembly Whistle, and everyone quickly emerged from their rooms. Each room had a key assigned to a responsible person. We gathered swiftly and formed four lines under my lead as we followed the Deputy Director toward the cafeteria. 0

As we approached mealtime, Xuanhua noticed more and more male and female students along the way and grew increasingly excited. He even started to lead a song, which I promptly stopped him from doing. We still needed to ensure everyone remained aware of their surroundings and not act as if they were still in the military. 0

The neatly marching group of soldiers always attracted special attention, whether on the road or in the cafeteria. Here, two completely different groups—soldiers and students—crossed paths. 0

As expected, curiosity overcame everything. Some students gathered to watch, while others whispered and pointed. The soldiers began to feel a bit awkward, stealing glances around them. Gradually, they started to relax and discuss their surroundings, which made the entire dining process considerably slower. 0

The food was decent, better than what they had in the army. Perhaps it was due to the variety of flavors; in the military, meals were primarily spicy. However, it was clear that the Deputy Director did not have a good grasp of everyone's appetite, as there was noticeably less rice on each table. Halfway through the meal, it ran out. Fortunately, there was plenty more in the cafeteria, and they quickly brought out several large pots to resolve the issue. 0

The first meal was accompanied by the Deputy Director, who informed me that in the afternoon, the School Leadership would organize everyone for a mobilization on the playground for Military Training. The official training would start tomorrow. I expressed my willingness to do whatever was required. The Deputy Director mentioned that during the meeting, we only needed to stand in line on one side and did not need to do anything else; it was mainly a routine speech. 0

After lunch, we returned to the dormitory amidst curious stares. By this time, most students had finished eating and returned to their rooms, creating a noisy scene that felt worlds apart from the quietness of military life. 0

Before dismissing everyone, I announced strict Discipline measures to maintain control over the troops and prevent any loss of order. I declared that their activity range was limited to within the building and that they were not allowed to leave this half of the floor. Anyone who disobeyed would be sent back to the barracks immediately. 0

Afterward, I announced a break for rest. The soldiers hurried back to their rooms while students from upstairs and downstairs gathered around to watch, wandering in pairs along the corridors outside their rooms and peeking inside at the soldiers. Even outside my door, there were people loitering about, which frustrated me; we were not monkeys in a zoo. 0

To avoid disrupting normal living conditions, I had no choice but to ask Xuanhua to set up two isolation lines with backpack straps in that area and assign sentries to prevent students from wandering back and forth. 0

I drew the curtains and closed the door, lying down on my bed without even changing clothes before falling asleep. Years of habit had conditioned me to take a nap at noon; I felt drowsy as soon as it hit twelve o'clock. 0

The soldiers were quite excited; my Sheng Xiong kept them awake all afternoon. If it weren't for my deep sleep, they probably would have started asking questions long ago. 0

Without a wake-up call, I relied on my alarm clock to rouse me at two forty. I took ten minutes to wash up and another ten minutes to organize Internal Affairs. At three o'clock sharp, I led all the soldiers out toward the Playground. 0

It was a very large comprehensive sports field. In addition to a standard soccer field in the center, one end featured a long jump venue while another end had equipment for parallel bars and rings. Surrounding these were four lanes for running and an open grandstand with a podium in the middle. 0

The meeting was scheduled for three thirty. The playground was still empty under the scorching sun. I pulled out my phone and dialed the Deputy Director's number. Upon learning that we had arrived at the playground, he expressed surprise and quickly told us to wait as he would be there shortly. 0

After another ten minutes, the Deputy Director jogged over, saying, "Sorry, I thought you wouldn't arrive this early." 0

"It's fine, we're used to getting to the designated area ahead of time," I replied half-jokingly. 0

"Uh, heh heh, well, you can just stand over here," the Deputy Director pointed to a long rectangular space next to the podium. 0

"Got it. If you have anything to instruct, feel free," I shook his hand and turned to adjust the formation of the soldiers. 0

The space was quite long, so I arranged the soldiers in three neat rows according to their height, with the shortest in front, ensuring everyone could see what was happening ahead. 0

Once they were lined up, I walked to the front of the formation and said, "Now everyone can relax a bit. However, once the leaders enter and until the mobilization meeting ends, stand at attention. Review what you've learned in the New Recruits Company course and set a good example for your students. To put it simply, remember this: if anyone embarrasses themselves or loses face, they can roll back to their unit—plenty of people want to join." 0

Time passed slowly as students from various training sessions entered the venue one after another under their instructors' guidance. They trickled in haphazardly; it hardly resembled a formation but looked more like a group of tourists on an outing, with the instructors acting as tour guides—just missing a little red flag. 0

To be continued; tomorrow will be even more exciting. 0
